When she mentioned in passing the strained relationship with her father and the retreats, red flags popped up and I thought those things would contribute to her future challenges-which they did in a very big way. I have noticed that when women have a poor relationship with their fathers growing up, they tend to struggle mightily in their marriages and with the priesthood in general. It is so deep and so pervasive that it can only be resolved through the atonement and deep spiritual insight.
The next time someone says that kids will be fine after a divorce "kids are tough", "kids are resilient", etc. Just remember this episode. Lindsi's parents divorce left such childhood trauma it took deep work and the power of the Savior to heal her.
I went through a total loss of testimony too. Like you, I feel so blessed that God intervened and guided me back before I damaged my family and my membership! Thank you for sharing your conversion and change of heart!! Conversion is a process throughout our lives, not an event!
I loved this message! I also wonder why the number 11 was what made her take notice that she was on the right path. It caught my attention because I seem to always look down at my phone when the time is 11:11. It always reminds me of the scripture mastery scripture in 1st Corinthians 11:11 Nevertheless neither is the man without the woman, neither the woman without the man, in the Lord. And it seems to be a reminder to me to keep going. I just really liked all the experiences that she shared. And hearing her journey.❤
My 'Refiner's Fire' lasted for years too, and like you, I clung to the Iron Rod through my mist of darkness, and like you, the relief, the reward made it all worth it. God does love His daughters.
We are here to be proven, and to prove to ourselves how far can we go until we are broken. We do so much more for others when we ourselves go through the struggles of faith, and those who do endure, God knows how we can be used as individuals to create the greatest good.
Oh my goodness! When I went through a spouse leaving the church, and then later divorcing me, the number 11 started showing up in my life. It was almost comical how often I saw 11s, and each time I saw them it brought a smile to my face. It is now my favorite number, and when I see 11s (even though it's not quite as frequent), I think how it brought a glimpse of hope and joy during a very difficult time in my life.
Thank you for this faith filled testimony! I see this happening to many of my friends concerning this and many other issues as well! Satan truly is going after the the very elect! My heart has truly been broken as I have contended and failed for them to stay. Thank you for showing the process of wrestling and how the lord will eventually meet us if we keep moving forward. The key is to keep moving forward! The lord wants TRUE conversion!!! This is a vital journey!!!
I discovered your podcast about a month or so ago. I’ve been enjoying a podcast every day as I try to catch up. This definitely was one of my favorites. It reminded me of the time when Christ helped me feel His love as He gave me understanding about how He views women.
I so appreciate these people you have on. I have never had a faith crisis and I sure hope i don't. I love that they all come back. I have had my own hard experiences that have led me to a much stronger testimony to know that God knows me. I know that we each get tested in ways that help us in our lives to bring us closer to Christ. They are really hard tests too. Some day we will know why.
Dear God in Heaven, thank you for Ashly, for Lindsi, for every faithful sister fighting the good fight. I am grateful for you sisters ❤ The world be empty, meaningless and hollow without you. Every mother, every wife, every sister, niece and aunty. We love you you. We respect you. We cherish you. When I was in AA I loved it and always left feeling elevated and uplifted, like after a fasting testimony meeting, because the chairs were always un-sugarcoated, real, raw, honest open heart surgeries where all the fluff in life was burned away and it’s place was sincere, authentic dialogue without judgement or the emotional hyperbole which characterises so much fragmentation ideology. Thank you Lindsi. Thank you Ashly. Thank you to all sisters, everywhere.
Such a strong Woman to go through this experience ........God loves you so much ! I hope that the other Women that were telling you that they were told not to wear their garments and to leave the Church etc., that you can forward this story and testimony to each of those Women so they can feel your testimony .....those other Women were part of your life and and went through this unreal event with you, I'm sure they would be interested to know how the story ends.
Woman is God’s supreme creation. Only after the earth had been formed, after the day had been separated from the night, after the waters had been divided from the land, after vegetation and animal life had been created, and after man had been placed on the earth, was woman created; and only then was the work pronounced complete and good. Gordon B. Hinckley
Full disclosure, I'm an unbeliever. The algorithm has suggested your show to me and I've watched a couple here and there. You seem like truly lovely people. One thing Lindsi said really struck me - "It wasn't God saying these things, it was just beliefs I had" - that seems to sum up a lot about life and our search for this metaphysical Truth of God. I have plenty of religious people in my life and knocking on my door and I'm happy to speak to all of them, from the Mormons to the JW's to the occasional Baha'i adherent. Maybe I'm just too dang stiff-necked but I tell them all essentially the same thing - I need more than a random text message or the number 11 popping up to demonstrate the Creator of the Universe is telling me which of the many denominations have His stamp of approval. But I say that with the upmost respect and hope it doesn't come off too rude. I sincerely wish Lindsi well and you the best of luck with your program ❤❤
I appreciate your honesty. One thing I've learned is that when we are told to have faith, that isn't just a cop-out response to questions that can't be answered: faith is literally necessary before we access the blessings of God. The more we trust in Him with faith, the more obvious His hand becomes in our lives. Not obvious in just spiritual, meta-physical sense, but in a very tangible way. I don't know you or your circumstances, but I do know that God is very eager to make Himself known to us, but He will always wait until we exercise faith with actions. Once we do, and we try not to doubt, the answer always, ALWAYS comes in a way that will be best for us. Signs that may seem small to you may be impossible to deny for someone else, and that's okay, because, those signs are personal, and meant specifically for the person receiving them. Give faith a try one more time, and you just might be surprised. Have a great day :)

"I am not loved...where is this coming from?" Satan, it's coming from Satan. In the washing and anointing, women are declared clean from the sins of this generation. What do men get? It's not the same. They are conditionally clean. They are responsible for preaching the gospel and making sure their neighbor is warned, otherwise they will be responsible for the sins of this generation. Women have always seemed to have it easier and are the chosen sex. They are more spiritual. What are the fruits of the spirit? Paul to the saints in Galatia said that the fruits of the spirit is peace love kindness, these are feminine gifts. Men are logical and trust the arm of flesh too much so are given the priesthood as a crutch, something to live up to. I love and honor my priesthood. It was a gift given to me below the hands of my father. He is no longer with me. If I screw up and need to have it restored, the line would no longer have his name in it. My son wouldn't get it with the name of my father in it. I cherish it as I cherish Jesus and my father. I wish I was as sensitive to the spirit as my mother is. If I need something, I ask my mother to pray. God listens to my mother.
Not sure who this is directed to, but I am pretty sure some people love the church enough to not care and some people it would bother very much. Sometimes what people want is love and light and the church brings that and that can be enough for them.

I agree, Richard. I left the church because of it. But after years out I realised my testimony of Jesus stands independent of any other external thing or entity. Also, I realised how immature my testimony had been. Look at the Bible, it is FULL of weird, fallible people. Period. That’s what God’s been working with since the beginning.
