Have to agree....because it's really annoying when your fooling around trying to get your hooks undone from another lure

Don't use clear micro rubber bands.
I've actually pulled a bait one time with the rubber bands still attached! 🥴

My theory on the deeper divers in shallower water.
if you've ever watched an underwater trolling cam, you'll see many, many fish follow and dont strike until that bait hits a rock or does something unusual. Running a 20 foot diver in 12 feet of water will create unusual patterns. Many times I've trolled a 10-12 foot deep crank for a long time and didn't get a strike till I started to hit bottom at 10 feet. Why is that? It's because that lure was being followed and the sudden action of knocking it off a normal swim pattern triggered the strike. I would encourage viewers to watch some of the underwater trolling videos available here.
As technology increases and we see how and what triggers a fish to strike, i think the bouncing off bottom or pumping the bait while trolling will be an ever increasing technique. Just be prepared to get hung up occasionally and lose some good lures! Those tail dancers are 10 bucks a pop. LOL

Can you comment on the splash guards around your outboard motors ? Did you make them, if so how ? Did you buy them, from who ? Do they work well ? Any info would be appreciated, Thank you

why not use baitcasting gear for trolling and casting and retrieving?

Yep, baitcasting definitely work better... can count the level wind passes for depth control.
