    UPDATE (4/10/24): Disney has just announced DAS changes that will be effective 5/20/24 in WDW and in June in Disneyland. Please visit the Disney websites for updated information.

      YES and all this social media throwing glitz and glamour on the DAS pass has ruined it going forward for legitimately disabled people who need it.

    If you had gotten a virtual queue spot for guardians you would not have had to wait in the long line, showing Das to the cast member at the entrance would have put you in the paid lighting lane line.

    This was an excellent DAS video. Not only facts about it, but the experience of how you used it. Excellent choice of content that was well presented. Very much appreciated as a first time DAS user. Also, thank you for a quiet calm presentation and not blaring music/video.

    Solid strategy here! I like the idea of booking a longer wait ride before a meal. We don’t use DAS (though we possibly could due to my husband’s colitis), but this is really important information for a lot of people! The genie + combined strategy in HS makes a lot of sense even if you didn’t use it too much.

    I wanted to share as somebody who uses DJ asked for my cousin, but she does not like to ride bro ride… It can be worthwhile for one or two people. Would you like bro ride to get genie plus that they can ride those while the person with the highest weight in virtual line for other attractions, that are more their speed ! (My cousin will NOT ride Tower, slinky etc. but I want to so I get genie plus for me but she doesn’t need it; then we use DAS for the rides she likes)

      It’s not a bother! We appreciate you watching and we would love to try to help best we can! DAS does work with park hopping. You just have to be in the park to get a DAS return time for a ride in that particular park.

    My DAS person is my 69 years old dad, but in my group we have my 34 months twins whom can’t ride it all because height requirements. Is it allowed to use DAS + rider switch? the DAS person need to ride both times?

    • @whatifdisneyworld
      @whatifdisneyworld  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      We had the same situation with little ones and an older DAS holder. Using rider switch is allowed with DAS! Just book everyone who wants to ride a DAS for that ride, set up rider switch, have the DAS holder ride with the first group, and then whomever has rider switch, will enter through the Lightning lane after the first group is done. The DAS person doesn’t need to ride twice. Hope that helps!

  • @blaisevanden-heuvel7443
    @blaisevanden-heuvel7443 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Hello, thanks for this info! My son who has DAS is a bit too small to ride on some of the bigger rides that his brother and sister would like to go on. I get that DAS is a benefit for those who need it but if I waited on those lines with my older two, such as Rise or Slinky Dog, I would not be able to be with him for long period of time. It's beneficial for us to be able to use the DAS even without him riding as it's helpful for us to be together. Separating for long periods of time won't work. With all that said, could we scan in his magic band for a ride he isn't tall enough for and have his siblings ride?

    • @whatifdisneyworld
      @whatifdisneyworld  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I hear you. But if he is not tall enough to ride and he is the DAS holder, no one will be able to ride that ride with DAS. He has to ride to use it. A way around that would be to buy Genie+ and use it for those attractions to minimize your time in line and use DAS for the rides he is able to ride.

    how long after your return time do you have to arrive there? for example if your return time is 1pm, how long do they hold your reservation

    • @whatifdisneyworld
      @whatifdisneyworld  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      For the same-day DAS return times, they don’t expire until park close! That gives you a lot of flexibility! For the advance selections, they are an hour window (for example from 1-2pm) and you could plan to be there during that hour.

    • @whatifdisneyworld

    I know with Genie+ you can only book once

    • @whatifdisneyworld
      @whatifdisneyworld  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Great question! Yes! You can ride multiple times using DAS. You just have to wait again for another return time

  • @amypmom23
    @amypmom23 ปีที่แล้ว

    Can your 2 advance DAS selections be in different parks? If not, do they have to be in the park you have a reservation for, or can it be in a park you're planning to hop to after 2:00?
    Also, I see you say you have to be in a park to make your next DAS selection there. So is the DAS more restrictive that way than Genie plus? I read elsewhere that you can book your next reservation in a park you are not in yet, as long as that reservation is after 2pm.

    • @whatifdisneyworld
      @whatifdisneyworld  ปีที่แล้ว

      That’s a GREAT question that I don’t know the answer to. Lol. We didn’t park hop on this trip so I’m not sure if you can choose advance selections in different parks. You could email disability.services@disneyparks.com and the cast member would be able to answer that for you! You do have to be scanned into the park to make your same day selection for that park-which is different than genie plus which you can make from anywhere! I’m not sure about selecting for a different park after 2pm because we didn’t park hop. My understanding for the same day DAS is that you need to be in the park to select it but I can’t say 100% since we didn’t park hop and experience that first hand. Hope that helps a little!

    • @amypmom23
      @amypmom23 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@whatifdisneyworld Hey, I checked this elsewhere and apparently your advance selections both have to be made in the park where you have a reservation, and yes, you have to be in the park to make your same day selection. Thanks for your reply!!

    At 1:10 you stated that you can make advanced reservations at 30 days before your last day. That might be true if you want to book them at the same time but you can do it one day at a time to ensure better selections. I thought I was able to book them at the same time (6 day trip) 30 days before my first day but maybe that was cast member discretion.

    Im a bit confused. You can book 2 in advance, but how many more can you book throughout the day? I thought you only got 3 in total with DAS.

    • @whatifdisneyworld
      @whatifdisneyworld  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There is no limit with the same day DAS. You only get two advanced selections but once you are in the park you can book ride after ride with the same day selections. You can even book the same ride multiple times. The limitation is that you can only have one same-day DAS at a time. So you can’t book another until you swipe in for the first same-day DAS. Does that help/make sense?
