    I’ve purchased Disney stocks simply because of this program alone. My 4 yr has autism and has been a nightmare all every trips, but Disneyworld was able to make this the most magical experiences ever for us. It was our most memorable and favorite family vacation, Disney thank you so much for recognizing hidden disabilities and supporting families that struggle with these disabilities.

    Hi I visited Walt Disney World last week and I found that this DAS system is shocking, they should bring back the skip the queue process that was running when I last went in 2017 as that was much better, as it was not just a physical benefit, but a mental one as it can get depressing having a disability but having this skip the queue perk that they used to have made me feel respected by disney and now that this process has gone, they have clearly lost any respect for disabled people, except one worker on Big thunder mountain allowed me to use the disability access to get on the ride. This was very stressful and I no longer want to visit Walt Disney World. I contacted them about why this DAS process is now used and it is due to people abusing the previous skip the queue process, and so I have to suffer due to people abusing the disability fast queuing, this ruined my trip and I wanted to leave. What they need to do is have this DAS process for the bigger rides such as Tron or Big Thunder Mountain and for the smaller rides allow people with disabilities to skip the queue. Also the parks need to be asking for disability proof as they didn't ask for any as those documents prove the disability, also there needs to be a system that can filter out people abusing this. I am very disappointed and annoyed at Walt Disney World and I no longer want to visit, and when i see the sign saying 'Happiest place on earth' it is a lie.

      It’s coming, universal did it, they are not Disney but they are a partnership in a way. Give it time, I have the IBCCESS card and they abuse that too but it’s better than it was before. Huge improvement. Disney WILL go to this. All these abusers will be angry. Even Drs are catching on. I have heard every excuse under the sun. They will eventually get the card, I would say by next yr. Prob’ looking at universal to see how it plays out. I have noticed universal doing this was amazing. Universal system is so much better. Just got to wait a little longer. Ppl are fed up and Disney is losing money 💰 bad.

      Oh that’s so tough! I’m sorry you are all having to deal with that. Definitely call and explain your concerns to the cast member. That seems like a legit reason they would give DAS. I’m coming from the UK and I’ve been diagnosed with depression and anxiety and can’t stay in an enclosed space with too many people (but what about a plane - I know!) and think I should qualify and it would set my mind at ease coming back at an allotted time instead of standing in an area with lots of people and having a oanic attack. My fear is that Ince I’ve articulated how my anxiety affects me they’ll just say no and I’ll be humiliated, after reading one of the comments below who said he was declined.

      So happy you are able to come to Disney! Here’s another way of looking at it: If you don’t try, you will never get a DAS pass, but if you are patient and have a meeting ahead of time there is always a chance. I have a theory that the people who do the over the phone and video interviews are better trained than the cast members who are in the parks and have been overworked for some time now. I had a client wait on hold for a while but the process was fast and easy once she got through for the interview. Don’t be discouraged! You can do this :)

    At Universal with rides with a 30min or less wait time they allow you to go right on without having to scan your pass as long as you show proof of having it. So say we are waiting 90 minutes for velocicoaster but forbidden journey has a 15 min wait we would be able to use our disability pass to get right on to forbidden journey without a wait. Does Disney do something similar to that or is it ONLY one at a time no matter what?

    • @whatifdisneyworld
      @whatifdisneyworld  ปีที่แล้ว

      Oh interesting! That sounds like a nice system. Disney’s DAS is just one at a time no matter how short or long the wait is. You do get to have the two pre-booked attractions per park day too though and those are separate from your one-at-a-time same day selections. Hope that makes sense!

  • @angelitavelasco870
    @angelitavelasco870 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    So the 2 rides selected with advanced pass has a 1 hour window, but the other "normal" ones can be used at any time after the return time? Did I understand correctly?

    • @whatifdisneyworld
      @whatifdisneyworld  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Correct! The advance selections have a set time window to use them. The same day DAS selections do not expire until park close, but you just can't select another one until you've used the one you have.

    Question: We are doing MNSSHP. Does the DAS work during these "ticketed events"?

    • @whatifdisneyworld
      @whatifdisneyworld  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I don’t have any personal experience using it during an after hours party, but my understanding is that it will work whenever a wait time is posted in the app (so it should work during after hours events). A source I trust, TouringPlans, says it works during after hours events. But I read conflicting answers on the PlanDisney panel - so maybe ask a cast member to clarify. I hope y’all have an amazing trip and a wonderful time at MNSSHP!

    I'll be posting this where I can, so that other can be warned. I have to say, the treatment I got when visiting on Wednesday April 19th was deplorable. I, as a disabled veteran, was treated as if I was trying to abuse the system by simply asking for a DAS pass for the day. Even wearing my knee and ankle braces, and using a cane, I was told they have "discretion" as to whether I needed the DAS. They found me unworthy, and told me to rent a $70 wheelchair. I have premium passes to Busch Gardens and Universal, and a Pixie Dust pass for Disney. NEVER have I been told I wasn't "worthy* of a DAS at any other park, including the ones outside of Florida. I'll be contacting ADA, the Better Business Bureau of Orange County, and Guest Communications. I was very patient and nice about it all at the time, but once I got home yesterday and thought about it, and how she treated me, I realized how pathetic and humiliated I felt. I struggled for over 8hrs once inside the Magic Kingdom, before I had to give up over swelling in my knee and ankle. The pain was excruciating, but I didn't have the money to pay for a wheelchair, as I was on a $50 budget for the day. AWEFUL experience.

    Hola!! Disculpad el español, olvidé idiomas por mi falta de memoria por mi enfermedad.
    Para mi es importante saber una respuesta sobre mí discapacidad y cómo gestionarla en Disney Orlando. gracias.
    Quienes tenemos discapacidad en el sistema nervioso central y no podemos permanecer parados de pie por un tiempo, Como las personas con estas enfermedades (fibromialgia y encefalomielitis mialgica) .
    ¿A nosotros no se nos consideran discapacitados en orlando ?
    Aúnque estemos reconocidos por el tribunal médico de discapacidad(en mi caso, España) y tengamos nuestro carnet de discapacitados, entiendo que ¿no es valido?
    Tengo 41%de discapacidad por fibromialgia y encefalomielitis mialgica, mi gran problema es no poder tolerar el minimo esfuerzo, no uso silla de rueda, porque aún no estoy preparada emocionalmente para verme en ella. Pero mis enfermedades son incapacitantes y ante los sobreesfuerzo de estar haciendo tiempo tantos minutos hasta que me toque pasar, me causará un daño al sistema que puede afectarme el resto de mis vacaciones
    ¿se considera que yo no tengo problemas iguales, que aquellas personas que si usa silla? 😢
    Me siento triste porque sin esa ayuda de no esperar filas largas, voy a tener serios problemas de salud. 😢😢Y es probable que solo aguante en el viaje unas horas y luego no pueda ni moverme de la cama los demás días 😢.
    En Disney París, se tiene una fila diferente para quienes demostramos que tenemos discapacidad reconocida por tribunal médico de discapacitad. Y esa fila no supera los 20 minutos😢. Incluso son inferiores a ese tiempo de espera.
    De ese modo puedo tener mejor tolerancia al esfuerzo.😢 Como debo de hacerlo para no salir perjudicada porg mi enfermedades😢😢. Me siento mal porque me hacia ilusión, pero no encuentro ni siquiera si puedo tener acceso de discapacitados en el espectaculo del castillo 😢😢. Donde suelo ir sentada en el suelo, porque no tolero el estar de pie por ese tiempo. 😢Así que no podría estar de pie en otro lugar 😢😢. Como se debe de hacer, mil gracias 😢❤besitos

      The DAS gets you onto the ride through the lightning lane so it is the same in that regard but genie plus return times are often hours out and you may only be able to get a couple of return times in the whole day. So if a person has a disability that prevents them from waiting in line, DAS can be helpful. You can use genie plus and DAS together too.

    I think it might be a little bit different in Disneyland, which is the only park we've been to ,so just want to clarify. Is DAS available on every ride regardless of whether it has a lightning lane? In Disneyland, if it doesn't have a lightning lane, then you just walk up to a cast member and they get you towards the front even if you don't have that booked online.

    • @whatifdisneyworld

      Yes! We did use it for things that have a wait time posted but no lighting lane! For example, PeopleMover. We signed up for a return time and then went to the cast member by the entrance and they took a chain down and let us slip in to the front of the line.

    Hi! I have a question about parade and fireworks viewing for disabled park guests in wheelchairs. On the map it shows spots that are reserved but how does it work when you are actually in the park? How early in advance do you recommend to get there to make sure you have a guaranteed spot? It says first come first serve so what happens if non-disabled guests take that spot? Will a cast member be able to guide you to a new spot where you can see over people who are standing while in a wheelchair?

    • @whatifdisneyworld
      @whatifdisneyworld  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Great question! We don’t personally have experience with this as we didn’t stay for the fireworks on the visit we went with our disabled family member but I asked about it ahead of time in case we did. For the parade, we were easily able to just pull the scooter up to the curb on Mainstreet (not a designated spot) and had a great view. Fireworks would probably be more tricky. The designated spots are held for those in wheelchairs/scooters but it first come, first serve but they do hold these for people who need them and their family. There are a couple of good PlanDisney answers to your question I will link here. They say to get there an hour early. Here are the PlanDisney links: plandisney.disney.go.com/question/firework-viewing-areas-wheelchairevc-users-available-467465/ and plandisney.disney.go.com/question/wheelchair-seating-area-happily-ever-fireworks-magic-423610/. Hope this helps you some. I can’t answer your questions 100% since we don’t have personal experience with it.
