I am truly an audio expert. 50 years or so. The two front speakers are actually the only thing that will work on your bike at highway speed. Rear bag speakers never work unless someone is riding behind you. They will love it. It's just the physics of it.
The rear speakers are facing forward. They would only be useless if you’re traveling faster than the speed of sound. They likely just aren’t as loud as the front speakers so they seem like they aren’t contributing but they are.
Little info for you the magnets on the Fosgate are Nano magnets that's why they are so much smaller. They are used to conserve space and weight just as powerful and a lot more expensive to make
on your recommendation i bought the 2 amp 4 speaker set up 1800 bucks from wild boar!sounds great at high speeds!and yes i lost my mind installing the front speakers!may have slipped out a few mother words!🤣🤣🤣on i have a 17 ultra classic
Got the Wild Boar System at Laconia with them setting me up with Paul from Fairing Exchange. I looked at Rockford, JM, you name it and the Wild Boar was the best bang for the buck, quality and sound. VERY Happy. Haven't had to put the volume past 3/4 at 80+ on the hiway.
Just here to say I put the new infinity speakers in my rgs by themselves with no amp and was shocked at how much better and louder they are even with no amp ! Awesome video monk
I feel you about that little spill to the floor I done that before I’m also little larger but I only got a bucket to sit on not even a cheap harbor freight seat
i went out and bought a flexing ratchet wrench set to get the two bad bolts out when i done my 19 triglide speakers...they sure did make it a pain in da rear though no doubt..Definitely not looking forward and hoping i won't be replacing the speakers any time soon. looks good though..
I normally have leftover stereo system parts. I rebuild my stereo every 6 months. Running Ground Zero 8in lowers with Ground Zero SPL tweeters. Ground Zero 6.5 mids in fairing. Ground Zero Shallow 10 sub woofers in the bags. And another set of 8’s and tweeters in the rear. A Fosgate DSR-1, sound digital EVOPS 2000x4 for the 8in, 2400x1 for the subs, 1200x4 for the 6.5 uppers and 800x4 for the 4 tweeters. About to rebuild it this winter with all Euphoria Experts. Let me know if you want to up that audio game!!!
With speakers, every time you double the power input, the decibel level increases by 3. So say at 1 watts; stock speakers are capable of 80db at max volume (assuming that’s their efficiency) 2 watts = 83db 4watts = 86db 8watts =89db 16w=92db etc…. Good speakers are more efficient and sound better. More power doesn’t necessarily equal a great volume increase.
I took your advice and added the Wild Boar 400 amp and speakers to my 2022 RGS. I received the new bracket set up for Road Glides. It mounts under the stereo on two of the four "neck" bolts that hold the fairing on. PITA to mount but works. Can't wait to see if you receive the same bracket as I did and if it takes you a little longer than you thought to mount. The velcro that holds the amp is very strong. However, the factory put it on the wrong side of the bracket. I had to wrestle it off and put the velcro on the correct side. Good luck!
PM if that’s what your into, more power to ya. I’ve had dressers with stereos & enjoyed them. The older I’ve got, the more I enjoy the simpler, earlier way of riding. The electric start is easier & kick start is harder but more reliable. The stereo is nice but the sound of the engine & the road is just as good as music. The hard bags & a trunk carries more but a pair of leather saddle bags & bungee cords tying my sleeping bag/tarp tight is enough for me. A limping bike gets farther with less weight than a loaded dresser. Guess old school never left me even into my sixties. Love for you & yours! Stay in the wind. May the road rise to meet ya & the wind be at your back.
Wow thanks Monkeyman, I have a 2022 Roadglide special that I'm slowly changing up. Although most of the time I'm listening through my helmet, there's time that it goes down and my speaker just not loud enough unless I'm sitting a light.
I have found it to be MUCH easier to install speakers in a batwing by the following: Remove the windscreen and front fairing Remove the turn signals and rear fairing bolts Remove the front fork trim (plastic piece unsnaps) Remove trim from under ignition switch Pull up on the fairing and lay down on protected front fender The 6 devil bolts are now exposed Tilt fairing back up to remove the pods and replace speakers. Put back together in reverse
I already burned two of my four RF speakers. I had their units, not he H-D marked ones. I changed from the OEM head unit to a Sony XAV and within a month two speakers were blown. I’m gonna look at the Wild Boars and a set of Infinity speakers, figure out which 4 I want. Thanks for the video.
@@RidinWFaith I’ve not had any issues riding in the rain with my XAV. It works fine, but I believe it over powered the speakers. Not sure why, I’m not an audio experts. But when I pull the fairing and install the new speaker, I intend to put silicone around any location that may allow water to enter the head unit.

I dropped in an Alpine amp and Alpine Type R 6.5 in. speakers in my 21 Road Glide. I have the amp bridged so its pushing 90 watts per channel RMS which is the number you want to focus on. A lot of times an amp will show a rating of 400 watts, however, that is peak power not RMS. I agree with you about the batwing sucking. I installed a J&M system on a 20 Street Glide Special. Getting my big meathooks behind the radio bracket to get to those shitty bolts at the back of the pods was a bitch.
on Hogworks and Amazon this is now 899.95 for the street glide 2014 and newer. but looks like the way to go. everywhere i look systems like this are 1500.00
You can't compare those magnets One is an Earth magnet one of the neon-didium. One is way stronger than the other That's why it is used in the Rockford and Harley bikes to save weight so you have a smaller magnet which performs like a larger magnet
Those "pods", in addition to being STRUCTURAL to the fairing were MORE designed as acoustic "chambers" to enhance the audio. Much like your floor speakers on your home audio system, because speakers sound BETTER in an enclosure, properly designed and TUNED to the speaker it houses. If wild boar did their homework, then you SHOULD get better audio and CLEANER sound from a properly TUNED and SIZED enclosure, ie. "pod". I had a HogTunes system on my FLHTCU and ditched it in favor of Kicker 6.75" speakers on all four corners with 2@ 300W amps (Front/Rear) driving them. This gave me option to add bag-lid speakers and front lower speakers in the future. Each amp, at this point runs 150W PER SPEAKER.. If I add the other four speakers, then it will drop to 75W/speaker, but amplifier efficiency goes up with each speaker, so at the end, I'll likely end up with 85-90W PER Speaker. At 8 speakers total, should be around 720W, Max, but since they're more efficient, should be VERY little distortion.
Best stuff to use is polyester fill and you don’t have to stuff it to the point you can’t get the speaker in so go to Michaels or Joannes and get a bag it’s like 7 bucks a bag you will use about a quarter or the bag per side and it makes a world of difference just a pro tip for you
Next time you have to do take amp, radio and tray out its pretty easy. Then you can reach all six of those bolts out from the inside much easier . Ask me how I know lol
Oh btw they are good speakers but if you want something much lighter in the fairing go with hertz neo . There loud as hell but have neo magnets which is much lighter 👍
Some yes but there are a few that do have more power, if you bridge the head unit from 4 way to 2 way you pick up a bit more power. Main trick is to match power to power unit to speakers for sound... But on a bike you're going to loose majority of your sound and hear bits and pieces anyway from the wind..

I went to harley to make sure they were able to flash it and I remember you mentioning that it should be flashed to 4 speakers no amp, although it has a amp and only two speakers. Harley said it wouldn’t work and wouldn’t flash it to that configuration. Am I missing something that I should be telling them ? Thank you very much for your great videos.
