So much work went into this build. All the cutting and sanding. You stayed true all the way, no cheating. Amazing. I love it. It looks like rustic cabin.
Beautiful work! I especially love the use of the pallet wood and the countertop. I'm looking to do something similar, and your video was inspirational. Thank you for posting, and safe travels!
DAMN Nice Job Brother. Damn Nice. I Could See a Small Shower/Crapper Combo & a Murphy Bed in There & STILL Have Room 4Ur Bike. Hands Down the BEST Build 4A Grand or Really Even CLOSE 2That I've Seen & I've SEEN MORE Than Enuff.😆!! Thnxu Brother & Happy Trails 2Ya!! 💯🤙😶✌️🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Thank you! Yeah I decided not to do a toilet/shower cause I'm used to tent camping and didn't need em. I do have a pop up tent shower that works great. I might get a small marine porto- potty but hey there's always the great outdoors lol!
Nice Job.... I am in the process of converting an 8x16 v-nose cargo trailer into an RV and Mobile Sign Shop. I am just starting the walls and cabinet construction. I just sold a 15-passenger shuttle bus that I lived in for 3 years and traveled out west during the winters. I had to sell the shuttle bus because I purchased a large format color printer to make contour cut decals/stickers, koozies, t-shirts, magnetics, banners, mousepads, etc. The large format color printer would have taken up a lot of storage space so I needed to get something bigger. I did a complete conversion series on the shuttle bus from the ground up and now am doing a new series on the cargo trailer conversion. They are on my YT channel.
Very nice build, I am curious as to the longevity of running all your conduit under the trailer. At least where I’m from that would rot out rather quickly due to seasonal changes. I’m sure in the south it’s not as much of an issue but I’m still curious of how it’s held up during trips
looks nice. I just stained and urethaned the plywood inside mine lol. Had a buddy who works as an electrician run the electrical though metal conduit, installed a plug boxes, switches, outside hookups and motion house light by the door.
Awesome build!! There’s absolutely no freakin way you only spent $1,000 even if you had every bit of wood for free. All the electrical components and wiring and vent fan, sink, inverter, conduit, windows, heck I’ve spent a couple hundred just on screws with my build. So unless you are a carpenter/electrician that stole thousands of dollars of supplies from your job you’re gonna give poor saps like me the idea we too can do this on the cheap. 😅 for us non electrician/carpenter plumbers that can’t steal from our jobs that’s easily 3k plus the cost of the trailer itself. But definitely a gorgeous build!!
Was thinking the same thing. I do flooring and can handle all the work myself and i would be able to get deals on some of the stuff from trade buddies but I spent $1500 on a battery for my tiny cabin in the woods 😄.
can you break down what you used to insulate? What material was used in addition to the foam boards? Was it on both sides? Did you need to use any glue or just fit and tape on the seems? Im going to re-insulate my aluminum cargo trailer. the builder used Styrofoam and it doesnt stop the suns heat at all. Trailer is a hot box in the sun. even the walls are hot to the touch on the inside,
Hey I have a serious question, I need your help, I see how u have ur electric setup, I just bought a gutted 30ft trailer so I'm gonna fix it up, I want to be able to have its own electric and run a AC all day sometimes and night, also a tv and fridge, what kind of electrical system do I need to be able to run those all day and night?
Sorry for the delay. I installed a WFCO 20amp ac/dc power center. Same they put in campers. Also I just installed an additional solar panel to keep the batteries charged. See latest video. Thanks
Not yet. I just did one trip with it and loved it! Got another trip planned in a couple of weeks. I added a TV & sink shelf both made out of pallet wood of course :) Next up is fold down bed. Thanks for asking.
No way this was all under $1k. Vinyl floor and ceiling, windows, insulation put you well over $1k. Not including the lumber, wiring, lights, batteries, water tanks, etc. I’m building on right now.
Nope. All materials were salvaged, thrift stores, dumpster diving, bartered, & just stuff laying around. You just have to be a little creative. And of course yard sales. Be amazed what you can get cheap
$1000 ?? You must be joking. My 12 x 6 cost me $2800 off the lot. That was the cheap part. The electrical system alone was over $2,000. The mattress was $430. The vent was just under $200. There is all the wood and fittings. It continues to cost more and more as it is improved and upgraded. This video is complete bs.
Nope. Scrap pellet wood, scrap 2x4s, thrift stores, yard sales, stuff laying around the house, dumpster diving, discount stores, and bartering. It can be done dude! I did it!
It's a CARGO Trailer!! It's made to carry weight! And for your information I went to the scales and added 700 total pounds! I think it can handle that!
Lmao the same thing my haters told me on my build. I got to the point where I would look at them and be like "ya know, all this work and thought and detail I've put into this build and you think I overlooked weight?" They wouldn't have much to say after that.
Im late to the party but i did a similar build using western red cedar and barnwood. I remember having a few nancys with there panties in a wad as well. No shortage of haters now adays
Warning ⚠️ Using pallet wood. Not only is it a nightmare to separate the wood, BUT, pallets are treated with hazardous chemicals to make them last a long, long time. Sanding, is bad enough, but to use this much in an enclosed space this small... Very bad idea, very bad
Thanks for your concern. Yeah it was labor intense but well worth it. I didn't come across any that were treated. I'd know after taking off the surface while planing.

Thank you! I'm on my first trip with it. 2000 miles one way. Pulled like a dream and sleeps even better. ☺️
Exactly what I want to build. Not quite so homie as I want to maintain the use of it as a cargo trailer. Fantastic video. Thank you.
Thanks Steve
Amazing! Quite the DIY project! Very impressive!
You are the pallet wood king, Nice.
Thank you!
Too much wood for me,but man fantastic job!
Amazing craftsmanship!! Very nice!!!!
Thank you 😊
Beautiful build. So cool how you made all the pallet scraps match! Good times for sure.
Thanks. I'm doing a pallet salvaged accent wall in my house. Bring back tender memories lol
Excellent job! I wish I had the knowledge to make something like this.
Thank you! You can do it! Just imagine and go/.
I LOVVE,LOVE,LOVE the cabin feel of this trailer !
Incredible work. This must have taken a lot of time to do, but well worth it.
6 months of blood ,sweat cuts, and tears lol. Thanks

I think this is gorgeous!

@@CTCAdventures no not quite yet since I'm retired on a small s s monthly check I have to do what I can every month but it's getting close
Wow! That is beautiful!
Thanks dude!

Holding up great! All schedule 80 for water and electrical is metal encased flex conduit
Absolutely gorgeous!!❤

Nice build, have you ever taken it to a weigh station to see how much it weighs?
3800 lbs
Thanks
Nice build, Thanks for the inspiration!
Thank you
Nice work!
What kind of screws did you use for building the counter top, I’m interested in building my own it’s looks awesome. Thank you.
I used 3" hex heads along with glue. Each 2x4 is screwed into the next. The last piece I went with black hex heads for aesthetics. Thanks.
Thank you!
Also curious how you did your laminate ceiling?
This is beautiful for sure.
Thanks Ed!
Nice job 👍 how weight was added with all the wood u used?
I haven't weighed it before or after but I estimate about 5 to 600 lb.
How much does the unit weigh?? Looks sharp alot of patients went into it I like the simplicity of it all
3200 lbs. I pull it with a Ram 1500. No sway.Pulls great especially after putting the leaf springs on top of the axles
Nice 👍

@@mrscoob3450 I got 350 square feet of flooring for $80 at a yard sale. Had plenty for the ceiling.
I still call bs. Never the less it's gorgeous. And heavy. I'll save weight for food and ammo
Excellent. I like the kitchen set up. Making me think of getting a v nose cargo trailer. What size trailer is it??
Thanks! 7x16
Fabulous job!!
Thank you 😊
10/10 this is a great idea to do to my 7x16
Got Wood?!!! Obviously you do. Nice, solid build. Using what you have and
…What you’re good at is the way to go.
Thank you ☺️
did the 1k include all the electrical and ac and batteries too?
Yes. The electrical wire I salvaged and bought at yard sales. The A/C I bought at a yard sale for $50. Batteries but new for $200.
Looks great, but man I bet that added a lot of weight to the trailer. Hope it was 12 on center
Nope. Maybe 1000lbs spread out. No problems
Very nice but I have a ? What was the weight b4 and after the build 🤔 ????
Thanks! 3k before 4k after. Trailer can handle 7k
Very nice!
Thanks

Used 1" foam fitted. Taped the support beams. then after installing furring strips another layer of 1/2 inch.
you need to isolate the walls to prevent thermal transfer through the studs.. or just install a mini split ac and be done with it.

@@CTCAdventures it's ok thank u man appreciate the info
Best I've seen ❤
Thank you. Just finally updated with a few videos
If we could only get the trailer manufacturers to put the insulation outside of the cage the effectiveness would increase. Great DIY though.
Agree. Thank you1
What's the size of the cargo trailer?
7x16
Real nyce !
Dude 😎
Curious what the total weight before/after this is
2800 before/4000 after fully loaded. Trailer rated for 7450
The nicest I've seen but I bet all that wood made it heavy
Thanks. Not really. Bout 750lbs
very nice
Thanks!
love it
Thanks!!
Nice work but WAY too dark.. have some contrast next time.. a little color difference wont make it look like a cave. Jmo
Just the way I like it!!!

way too dark, to much wood, nice build

I don't have receipts from scrapping, salvaging, yard sales, thrift stores, and bartering. Takes a little bit of creativity dude.
KINDA hard to believe
I guess no one ever taught you about empty weight, useful load, and maximum weight. Nice at the sacrifice of limiting the useful load.
