- Walk around of my 8x16 Cargo Trailer Conversion! I built this by myself to live in full time and have been doing so for over a year and a half! The mic is a little wonky in the video and I apologize for that! I hope you enjoy the video and my attempt at doing b-roll haha.

Outstanding! Basically a studio apartment on wheels. It looks to have plenty of storage. Well done! 😎
I have watched many videos showing custom trailer builds. Your build is different that it radiates human warmth in a good way. Its beautiful .
Thank you!
Yeah, They are somehow relaxing and almost spiritual.
Well worded!
It is very efficient. Well built. Great ideas. Low maintenance. You gave great advice on educating yourself before you jump into such a big project. A great use of space. I wish you many blessings on your new journey!
Thank you! God bless
If u want to have a lil bit of humidity in the box home (in winter), place a small used (not to be used for anything else) kettle or sause pan with water in it on ur stove, u can refilling it as many times as requires to keep the place humid, no need to open a window, u can also add a tea spoon of vix vapor rub in the water, so if u have a cold or flu, it will keep u breathing good at night.
Thanks for the advice
We use to add a nylon stocking with different scented popuri. The house always smelled so nice ☺️
Great job on the home. Looks really comfortable and has everything you need, including plenty of space.
Thank you
You did a beautiful job in making your little home. Best wishes to you and your lady.
Thank you
Beautiful build! Very inspiring. Have fun on your adventures!!!!
Thank you

Thank you Ruth!
That looks great!
Thank you!
Beautiful little home…. God Bless 🙏🏻🇺🇸
Thank you!
I must say you did one heck of a job on that bill buddy very impressed you got suitable storage I love the whole gray water idea , love the idea to have it flush out the bottom but having the back up 5 gallon jugs for gray water is smart idea.. I might include this in my fire truck camper van build.n
Thank you! I’m glad it was helpful and good luck on your build!
You did great job I love the color
Thank you!
Nice work, looks awesome!
Thank you. God Bless!
Nice touch with rifle rack and rifle above window👍!!
Thank you. God bless!
Nice clean build. 👍🏼
Glad you like it!
Sick as hell dude
Great build I love it
Glad you like it!
Cut circle holes in bed platform so mattress can breathe. Fights against mold 🙂
It's cool and creative. I just don't understand why people find the smallest things to live their lives in. But I like that you're living your life your way.
We are all weird in our own way 🤷🏻♂️
If you want to live nomadically then you’re limited on size. When assessing a larger rig or smaller there are pros and cons to both. When you weigh all the options out you end up going smaller a lot of the time. At first it feels extreme but quickly you adapt and realize how little you really need. It’s really freeing. I’m in a 7x14 cargo trailer full time.
I would love to see some more videos about your adventures in Alaska. I am moving back to AK soon and am thinking about doing this.
Sadly Alaska is being put on hold for us. It’s a struggle working with banks in Alaska because they don’t like to give out of staters loans for property. So my wife and I bought a piece of land in Iowa… I know, polar opposite. But! We are fixing up this place and videos of that will be coming soon. Good luck with your move! I hope everything goes to plan and thank you for watching!
Great tour & video
Thank you
Very well done! Mine is a bit smaller so I didn't do a shower, but your layout is very functional and your choices of materials is similar to mine. Enjoy that solitude it provides!
Thank you! God bless
You bet! I see so many builds that seem sterile or less-than-home like (especially the high end ones!). No way I would buy an Airstream as they seem like high end hotels with all the shiny surfaces. Nothing seems soft and cozy. Yours, with enough blankets and pillows and soft things inside has a charm that makes it inviting to hang out in. Mine is like a cocoon you crawl into to relax. @@WildWood_TV
Very nice, plenty of room, feels like I'm in a cabin not a trailer.
Awesome build bro 👍
Thank you!
That wall where you have the water filter and the small shelf would be a perf cut spot for a fold up / down table that collapses flush with the wall. Hinges at the wall with two legs that fold up.
Thanks for the suggestion!
Great advice!
Nice build
Thank you!
Probably one of the best builds I have seen yet. Thinking about building one, but if you don’t mind sharing, could you break down the costs? Trailer, electrical,, building materials, etc, etc? This would be most useful. GREAT JOB!
The trailer was around 7,000 brand new. I spent close to $20,000 (during the Covid price hike) on everything from the insulation to the pillows I lay my head on.
Good job 👍
Thank you
Cool I have the same one I like how you have your grandma’s gun good work
Thank you!
I love it, it's cozy. What size is the bed? Don't worry, I won't be dropping in, anytime soon. 😉Great security, you got there. Take care. Ty, for this tour. You did a great job.👍🙂
Thank you! It’s a queen sized bed
This is a cool place 👍🏻🙏
Thank you!
Looks great, you maximized space to a maximum. Only one suggestion, move the propane tanks outside.
Lots of updates coming soon. Should have a video about it by spring
Love it man i wanna build one
Send it
Yeah I like the use of materials
Thank you
Great job, subed
Thank you sir
Omg! Awesome video. I loved the look of your trailer. The guns, ammo, liquor cabinet, and extra insulation underneath. Always protect your design, build, and peoperty in your tiny house. Loved it!
Thank you!
Living the dream
Trying too haha
I love the fact that as an American you can just hang your rifle on the wall.
As an Australian I’d have to contend with a Gun Safe, a Magazine Safe, an Ammunition Safe and a Key Safe to store the Keys for the other Safes.
Ouch. Freedom is just an ocean and some paperwork away brother
LOOKING FOWARD TO MORE VIDS
Appreciate it!
And love the guns. I really big gun guy lol
God bless you
Very nice
Thank you!
Awesome 😊
Thank you! God bless!
Convert to Drawers in order to see the clothes all at once. Basket drawers.
Not a bad idea
Think about adding "sand battery" to wood stove, it could help retain heat at constant level for longer period of time. 😉
Lol
Awesome
Thank you
UUMMMMM looks nice
Thank you
Great job on the conversion, working on a 7x16 in my spare time. 1911 guys are usually handy with their hands. Post some of your adventures sometime.
Planing on it my man! Thank you!
Thanx for sharing
My pleasure
Very nice little home! Love the solar power. Also the misc. drawer was interesting, i like it.
Next time tho, keep down or do away with the loud music as its blaringly loud then we can hardly hear your voice.
Greetings from Jamaica.
Good to know. Thanks
Thank you
Nice
Thank you
reverse the back door, so the hinge is on top. it's not to difficult to do. that way you got a cover and you're not walking on it anymore
That would be a pain in the ass to lift open lmao. I like your thought but there’s not much common sense behind it my man. The hinge is welded to the frame of the trailer on the bottom. Even if you wanted to reverse it there isn’t a thick enough piece of steel on the top to handle the weight of the door (which is heavy af)… plus I don’t know why anyone would want to go through all that trouble just so they didn’t have to walk on their door. The best solution is to buy new swinging doors and install them lol
This is the results of support from Family & Friends..
IF YOU DONT HAVE AT LEAST 1 FRIEND.. ( i dont suggest trying to do one of these build outs.. 3 yrs, still just a cold plywood space.. ( NICE JOB ❤
Thanks! Good luck on your build! God bless!
I like it a lot. Where do you go potty though? Do you have a camper potty? Easily store I'm shower area. Since I get migraines easily I myself would put a curtain up at the bed area to block any light and or for privacy when I don't want to see my hubby. I know he would be working on the computer or something. Or may be a half wall. Thin if course. Well any thing can be done. Love your little place. I also agree about the grey water. If your on your own property and using soaps that do not harm the environment them dump away. In some one else's property or camo site dispose of properly. Great little place. Also tv is important. Some times the weather is not nice so you have to be stuck in side. Be it rain snow ice or just to damn cold or hot lol. Out side though a canopy of some sort would be nice at the door for outdoor entertaining. Again a cute and very simple and classy place. Good luck stay safe and healthy.
Thank you. Crapper is outside
This is the best layout I have seen for a 16' trailer. Great job! How much space do you have in the middle width wise? I want to do this but need it to be able to haul my motorcycle. Also how much does it weigh set up like this?
Thank you! Roughly 5 ft of width in the middle. Not exactly sure the weight but my best guess would be somewhere around 6-7k with literally everything in it.
Love it! So impressive! Question: How do you drain the shower? Did you just cut a hole in the floor? Is there a waste tank outside? Thanks!
Hole that leads to gray tank
Did not see the toilet. Nice build out. You cod get a rug to place on the wall when you have to walk on it.
Toilets outside. Thank you!
@@WildWood_TV Was that the big green box? How do you haul it?
@@teret6719 Looked like he had a port-a-potty. Just guessing, but I doubt he hauls it. It's likely a local service that he "rents" it from that does the dumping and hauling.
Pretty slick thinking if the price is right!
Nailed it
Well done! Nice build. Ver impressive. What is your inside height before and after insulation?
Thank you. The height is probably somewhere around 7 ft
That's awesome. I've been thinking about doing the same thing. I was evicted from my apartment last month and I'm now staying with a friend and it would be nice to have my own space again. I've got a disability case pending so I was thinking about doing something like this.
Any idea how much solar energy it would take to run that with a 58 in TV , A.C.and incinerating toilet? I'm single and don't have kids, so in place of your bed, I would have a futon on one side and TV on the other..
That was a job well done. You are an inspiration..thank you for posting.
.also, love the 1911 bit..I'm a big 1911 fan. Reminds me of a meme I have that says "1911, because old, fat and slow (which also describes me..lol,) can still get the job done"..haha
Thank you for the kind words! In my opinion solar is a loosing battle. With my set up (400w of panels and four 200 mah batteries) I can only comfortably power my lights, the max air fan, and my water pumps. Anymore than that and it runs out of juice fast. Especially if you get a couple cloudy days back to back. I recommend wiring everything for hookup to an outlet and use propane or natural gas wherever you can. That way you don’t get stuck in the heat/cold with no power because you’re out of juice. Solar is fickle. Just plug her in.
@@WildWood_TV gotcha..thanks..I forgot about propane..they do have incinerating toilets that run off propane..very expensive..not sure about water heater though..I'm sure GOD will direct me...
Thanks..
God bless! Good luck!
Looks fantastic! Did the weight and balance work out such that the tongue weight is around 10-15% of the trailer weight? That would be one of my concerns with doing a cargo conversion.
Thank you! Rides great. No fish tailing
I did a 7x14 . Check out Brian Swezey on TH-cam. It's a little shaky. You did a awesome job on this camper. Most people when you tell them you built a camper inside of a cargo trailer they think of something with a few wooden pallets cut up and a bucket for the sink and a sleeping bag on the floor. They don't realize what one can create out of wood and other materials.
Thank you! I’ll head over and check out your video!
U
Nice rig. Your CO monitor should be down low as it's heavier than air.
Yeah your right been thinking of moving it
It’s actually slightly lighter than air. Alarm’s don’t need to be mounted low.
@@Gloomendoom thank you for the correction! 👍
Nice job.. I'm getting close to this idea. For me,, its about hauling my bike... "motorcycle". I'm not digging the toy hauler floor plans.
Worse comes to worse. Would a hitch bike carrier work?
You might also search for a horse trailer or horse trailer/camper combo to work with. An acquaintance had a 3 horse trailer/camper combo. And, because it was heavier framed, added a small tool shop so he could haul 2 bikes and do a fair amount of repair on the road if needed.
Amazing build! Any idea how much it costed in total? Like trailer, and then everything else?
Around $20,000 for everything
Hi! You’re an Amazing crafter! Do you offer services for others?
Thank you! I haven’t built for anyone else other than me
@@WildWood_TV well would you consider?
nice job , looks very nice , but your microphone is not good , barely can hear you .....too bad that trailer isnt longer where you can have desk for a computer and size sofa to site also
I’m aware that the mic is poor. I got a new one. Thanks
What was your objection to installing a mini split instead of the stove?
Just so you know, carbon monoxide detector should be mounted low and smoke detectors 12” from any corner up high! 🤔
Yup thank you
Mythbusted.
What a haterade
False
False
What basic electrical book do you recommend? Which one did you study?
Wiring a house 5th edition is good. Otherwise I got advice from people who knew more than me
Great video bro!
Could you tell me what the Trailer cost initially please?
Thank you👍🏼
A little over 7k
@@WildWood_TV Thank you sir.👍🏼
Whats the artist & name of ur background tune on video?
Sounds peaceful n country (c Eastwood) style 😎
Communicator by Reed Mathis
I'm considering a camper conversion, how much did your conversion cost?
Roughly $20 grand for everything
I spent about 12,000 on mine.
Love all you’ve done but got one question, where’s the toilet?
Thank you! The toilets outside
Hi...what part of Alaska are you planning on going to??? My husband and I live in Alaska. I really hope you're not planning on living in this trailer in the winter months. Anchorage had 106 inches of snow this winter, and it's not over yet, and it's April 23rd. I wish ya'll all the luck. I really mean it. Kenai is where we live. Maybe we'll see ya'll on the road.
SE islands
@Wild and Free that's good. Not a lot of snow, but the bears are big so be safe. They can rip open a camper or trailer like opening a twinkle wrapper. Store food away from you. Good luck.
Thank you! God Bless!
Flip the back door to lift up & become an awning instead of a ramp
That’s a lot of work for not much reward
GREAT JOB BUT LOL THE SOUND WAS IN AN OUT
Apologize. My new mic came in a few days ago
How did you do your ceilings?
Screwed 1x3s across metal frame of trailer and nailed up wood paneling. Then finished off the seems with trim pieces.
What type of vehicle do you pull it with
2006 ram 2500 mega cab… she’s a beaut
Curious!! Have you camped in snow 🤔
Yup I’ve lived in it full time for a year and a half now.
May i ask for a link for the ceiling lights ?
The company no longer exists. But you can find lots of lights that fit your specs on Amazon
i would let Danny from counting cars eat crackers in my bed any day!
Good to know lol
What is on your interior walls??
5x8 vinyl board
this is so awesome you did such an awesome job! but PLZ cut out the begining where the mic is bad in the beggining I tried sharing this with all my other autistic adult friends (not useing as a slur we are all ACTULLY dignoised autistic) and none of them could stand the 1st minute w/ the mic to watch the rest of this really cool video! :) (if you can/when you can)
Sorry to hear that. I’ll see what I can do
What was the total cost for this
$20,000 for literally everything. But that was during the the Covid price hike
Awesome job...but .Where is toilet??
Outside. If watch the beginning closely you’ll see a porto potty
looks great but we're at the bathroom.
Porta potty is outside in front of the trailer
@@WildWood_TV I use a taller paint bucket with a 13 gallon trash bag and a real wooden toilet seat. Kitty litter for the ladies. LOL 😂, I didn't want to handle any poo ,except to throw it away. My shower is a 2 gallon pump up jug with hose and shower head.
Fun project but it will be an oven in the summer.
Already lived in it in the summer. I have an air conditioner…. Works great
Awesome!!
Thank you!
The hell with it..lock up the alcohol,. But leave the guns wide open lol!?
Nothing is locked besides the trailer itself… lol
I'd like some baseball cards
No
Almost didn't keep watching after bad audio in intro. Maybe I'll come back another time.
I apologize. God bless!
Toilet??? Otherwise Awesome 👍👍
Outside… Porto potty
