Great video sir how do you feel about the t shadow magic skew and the nrs been wanting to get a set but I just don't know enough about them?? Thanks you ive been benge watching your videos for the past few weeks thanks for the great content!!!
Hello Harold,
I am not a carbide guy, I prefer HSS. If you
Like/prefer carbide, the Magic Skew is really good. I’ve used Easy Wood as well as a couple off brands. Cutters are cutters, the tool post on the MS is what set it apart. It’s hex bar.
Carbide Works better at an angle because less of the cutter touches the work. Less is more when turning and that makes it act more like a normal HSS skew.
If you decide to purchase one, I’d recommend the longer tool post. I only have the short one and you lose a lot of tool control and leverage that a longer tool gives.
Not sure what nrs means so I can’t comment on that.

Bob
@@RJBWoodTurner nrs negative rake scrapper im going to get into traditional tools just want to have a sharpening jig first its a large commitment going from carbide to hhs
@@haroldmartin8009 yes it is. I totally understand starting with carbide. That’s what I would do if I started over.

Bob
