@PAFFO, could you share the lenses you are using for this? I just tried something similar for the X3 with standard flat threaded 52mm filters but the frame of the filter is visible. So I hope using concave lenses will work. Thank you in advance 😊
Hi ! thanks for your kind word , I believe any blank/ uncut lens will work , try a simple search on ebay or aliexpress ebay.us/lgTGVq you can adapt the 3d print to match what ever size lens you get :)
@@SuccessfulLifeMotivation33 if you have a friend with 3d printer you could just print it yourself , i have shared the files for free: www.thingiverse.com/thing:5798162 the lens i purchase is this one: www.aliexpress.com/item/4000931437615.html?spm=a2g0o.order_list.order_list_main.15.4ef01802EXO7nn
the design is actually very adaptable to a different diameter lens like the insta 360 X3, my issue is that i dont have the camera on hand to measure it, if you have one and a caliper we can work something out. Do you have a 3d printer ?
@@PAFFO I don't have a printer, but can have parts made by friends or order through shapeways if necessary. My X3 is being delivered today, I will use my calipers to measure the diameter.
where are you based ? im in australia unless we live in the same continent, shipping fee will cost you more than the parts itself XD also getting lens from china is a bit of a process , 3 weeks or more to deliver :/ if you have a local supplier for lens you can get a friend with a 3d printer to print it for you, i have shared the file , link in description
@@PAFFO Thank you so much for your response and for posting such valuable information. Unfortunately I am located in southern Europe. I will consider looking for a 3D prototypist to whom I can send your files and the filters.
This is genius and so simple. Thanks for sharing 😊
Any more samples with the nd?
Any problems with reflection of the lens on the sun or any problems with the image stitching etc?

@@PAFFO Perfect, thank you :-)
Could you design the same adapter for the X3?

@@ssrgolf i'm guessing you received your x3 and having fun with it ☺, let me know when you get the measurment and ill get it done for you ;)
The battery on my calipers is dead so I can't get super precise... By the physical measurement I am at approximately 1.05" or 26.67mm

Would you consider making and selling me one of your ND filters?
