Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful. Goosebumps all around. I imagined what it'd be like for the camera to be shot from a driver's perspective and then he just walks up to the car and then drives off. Then you see the video fade as the car races into the night. All shot with this style.... Wow!!
God I love those 3 axis camera gimbal rigs, totally smooth video! Also gotta love the off the cuff choreography, great flow throughout the whole clip. More please!
Dunno if I'm weird but I love seeing racing cars being dropped off the jacks. I love it when the suspension takes the weight of the car when the jacks are pulled out and the way the tires settle into the wheel arches. Especially on the grid before the race start. When the cars come off the jacks its like an "ok here we go" moment. I just love it!!!
***** if you look on go pro, even though this wasnt filmed by one, there is an accessory that is similar to what they use and is called the zero g camera mount . It is hand held.
Looks like DSLR with 35mm or 24mm depending on crop factor but its Glidecam or steady cam one of those smaller ones also the focus doesn't change so its for sure a DSLR.
amazing shots, to see the team, their worry, their focus, this is a whole different side from racing, we see the cars, but we have to remember the people behind them!
Mark J Did you watch Sebring? The #912 should have gotten called in for avoidable contact, but for whatever reason the Alex Job Racing car got called in instead, taking them out of the hunt for the lead, but keeping the #912 in it. So actually, fairness of the rules can EASILY beat the Porsche guys.
For those who are interested in how they got such smooth camera work, it's an accessory called SteadyCam. Very useful and with practice, gives results like this.
One of the things that hits me about this video, other than the quality, and cool factor. It truly shows why it cost so many hundreds of millions of dollars to put a team together even at this level. Not to mention F1. Back in the 50s, 60s, and 1970s, all the teams may have had ten guys in the pits at most, if even that. And not technology to peak of. Makes me wonder what was a better time for racing,.
Some say that all the pitstop workers are just robots under that costume...all we know is *wait are you kidding me ? OK * They are ALL called the stag...
I think this is every oil change/lube tech's wet dream... or any mechanic for that matter! :D Beautiful videography, was this filmed on some sort of rolling rig?
Yeah they did....that caution was suchhhhh bullshit. For a car that was in a runoff but way off the track. 30 Minutes to move it? Give me a fuckin break, leaving 20 min left to race. Ridiculous. Just like Daytona. They better fix all this caution bullshit.
That was an awesome video in terms of how it was shot, looked like a clip from a movie.
Yeah definitely looks like a vested Glidecam. Awesome stuff. No music. All in the moment of things.

This looked directed, amazing fluidity. Never looking for a shot, always perfect.
This is really one of the most interesting and immersive videos of Motorsport I've ever seen.
God I love those 3 axis camera gimbal rigs, totally smooth video! Also gotta love the off the cuff choreography, great flow throughout the whole clip. More please!
Great cam work very fluid
Holy shit, this looks like it was storyboarded and everyone's an actor. I'm blown away.
Amazing camerawork, Harris. I am stunned.
Really great cinematography. I half expected it to cut to the drivers seat or another significant character. Awesome work.
i love this channel
That was beautifully shot, loved how the noise was focused on the cars out on the track! Great video
Everything flowed like clock work O_O

Just, beautiful.. more like this please ..
What a beautiful piece of cinematography. Great work by the team! Keep it up.
I really love the way this was shot. Great work.
Brilliant a look into the activity behind pit walls, excellent camera shots.
How did they get this shot to be so smooth and steady without any jarring of the camera?
zero G camera mount, they are hard to control at first but it gives you very fluid motion.
They are just using a steady cam. Lots of films and videos use them.
LeeVai666 Is it a remote man held mount? It seems like the scene has very small room.

this is awesome. looks like something you'd see in a movie
How about another Driver's Eye ? ;)
amazing shots, to see the team, their worry, their focus, this is a whole different side from racing, we see the cars, but we have to remember the people behind them!
Very good quality guys, keep it up.
A good 2 minutes in my Sunday afternoon.
Cheers, enjoy the beer
excellent hope to see some more from 12hrs
That was epic.
superb production value. nice insight into the pit crew!
This is so well and beautifully done, I'm tempted to say it is CGI. But I know you guys wouldn't do it. So I won't. MOAR of this, please!
this is art
Love the sound from those low revs in the second stage of that exit.. one thing I do know is what's ganna happen to grand am?
No team can beat Porsche Factory guys ! Period
Especially when race control penalises the wrong car!
AdamantJHS Like i said, nobody can beat Porsche guys, nobody !

German teamwork there !
I was at the race, that porsche through turn 14 was nuts. It stayed really flat in both meanings of the word.
This is sick
amazing work, cut it 16:9 and it's really cinema stuff. love the dof, makes me wonder on the gear you used.

I was at 12 hour of Sebring! absolutely Incredible!

Gotta love these freestyle unscripted moments ;) Cheers guys, keep 'em coming ;)

Very good! I feel I'm there!
fantastic piece drive! JF?
Too much zoomed in to become it steady, a steadicam with wide-angle would be better next time
That quality was amazing
Amazing video... Thanks!
Everyone seems very chill. Which is what you want when doing support during an endurance race.
just got home from Sebring it was great!!
Suuperb stuff!! Put more of this!!
You must make more of these…..Quick.
Is this some Porsche advertisement? I want one more now!
I think this is every oil change/lube tech's wet dream... or any mechanic for that matter! :D Beautiful videography, was this filmed on some sort of rolling rig?
Great camera work
Awesome point of view
Good use of steadycam
Wonder what kind of camera was used for this? it feels like a video game.
How do you make videos look like this? Is it the lighting?
I can hardly pick up my 18s and these guys carry them over their head :-D
I wonder how much those wheels weigh.
Perfect Video!
That was just pure art
Nobody said a word... Oh, that's right, they're German. ;)
Porsche like most manufacturers have an international team but I guess you were trying to be funny, so.
Kruger would never allow two Chrises in the office. They run a really tight ship. Coco! Coco! Coco!
What type of camera or lens was used for this? Does anyone know or have a good guess?
Just amazing. I love the concept of the video, /Drive really knows how to make videos like these. Like TRACKSIDE Black Edition
I envy and wish I had the job of any person standing in the clip.
Its not a steadycam - they used something called BRUSHLESS GIMBAL.
I was there last night awesome race
More like this, please!
Do you get kicked off the team if you get your outfit dirty?
where was the pitstop ?
THIS IS AWESOME
almost reminds me of something out of star wars, like a group of x-wing fighter pilots hanging around the docking bay. epic.
Pure, Porsche, Poetry
It was good to see a Michelin jacket to shake up the monotony. For a second I forgot who this video was about.
this was sick!
gotta love steadicam
These people were a weekend away from ruling the world.
Excellent :)
Amazing!
Looks like Nasa mission control...
Fantastic
Really neat guys
I doubt their final pit was with 90 minutes remaining.
This was cool, but you kinda missed the pit stop lol
Simple but awesome
Long race. I hope no one farted from the top bench.
0:47 The Stig
EPIC!!!
nice
Glidcammmmmmmmmmmmmm that shitt
What did you expect.... its team porsche,,, they are german....
Interesting
Hey look its the car that should have served an 80 second penalty instead of Alex Job racing. Way to go IMSA officials....
Cool!
Wow- hahaha, gravity like
SRT won that race...God has nascar fucked up this series.
Yeah they did....that caution was suchhhhh bullshit. For a car that was in a runoff but way off the track. 30 Minutes to move it? Give me a fuckin break, leaving 20 min left to race. Ridiculous. Just like Daytona. They better fix all this caution bullshit.
no comments :)
F1 is so unbelievable boring!
where did you see F1 cars in this video??? #genius
nowhere ^^
*****
That's the point, many forms of motor racing are now more exciting than the supposed pinnacle of motorsport.
boring!
Love the sound from those low revs in the second stage of that exit.. one thing I do know is what's ganna happen to grand am?

Perfect Video!
Magnesium wheels. They're very light.
