The 80's - early 90's, "cassette futurism" look of this game really does something for me. Brings me back to distant memories of childhood, being pretty much an infant in the early 90's.

Been on my radar for over a year. I really like the late 70s/ early 80s vibe of it and the synth music by Robyn just works with the aesthetics to give off a retro vibe. Overall looks mighty good

I don't believe one second of what i just seen. They are all crooks and liars until they deliver on launch day, not 6-12 months after launch either. Day one or its a lie.
It’ll still be pve, it just has pvp now as well, i personally love pvevp as the tension is what makes these games for me, though it didn’t help that people saw the trailer and said “so shooting drones?”
@@Cipher_8 It's been in a closed beta test on Steam, they pivoted the gameplay model to be a pvpve extraction shooter rather than pve and it plays horribly.
I can't believe the landscapes are inspired by my island, Tenerife, in the Canary Islands! Some maps look like real places here, and they even recreated an endemic plant unique to the island (the red flower stalks in 1:16, 1:20 and 1:24). Check photos of Las Cañadas del Teide.
Came back to rewatch this trailer after learning from Gamescom 2024 they pivoted this game to be another PvPvE game. This seemed like it could be the next Destiny or maybe another HellDivers 2 style game. I am disappointed with the new direction. This trailer is far more interesting.
Vibes are immaculate. Reminds me of the first time seeing destiny, the wonders and curiosity of what could be. This, could be better though. Great reveal Embark!
You can tell this is the talent behind DICE. I get Battlefront and even some BF1 vibes from this. The particle effects, smoke and explosions look similar to what we first saw in BF1 back in 2016 IMO which were super impressive back then and still are.
I'm more of an FPS fan, but I'm genuinely excited for this. All the talent from my favourite franchise went into this studio. They now have more creative freedom instead of being squeezed by EA. And this game is new gen only. There are reasons to be hyped!
I don't know why they just couldn't release the game with the PvPvE as a separate game mode, I'm not even going to touch this now as the new announcement just killed my interest
I agree, seems like it's going to be hard to incorporate these co op "boss" battles into an extraction shooter so it seems like all that content will never be playable from the trailer. I could be wrong but I do.t see how it would work. Sad. 😢
THIS is the DICE we used to know and the only DICE we want I'm so happy that they have so much smart people also from dice back in their team. Especially Magnus Nordan who was responsible for the technical stability of the frostbite engine. He started working there by the launch of Battlefield 4. As many of you may remember Battlefield 4 released miserably, maybe because he hasn't worked on it :D Thanks to him Battlefield 1 launched way smoother because him being Technical Director. I have high hopes we may get a polished game to release guys.
It originally was a coop PVE game only... just like a small and unknown game called Helldivers 2. But then someone in the studio said "Hey, let's do an extraction shooter instead !" and everybody was like : "Yeah !" and then someone else said "Oh, The Finals is more promessing anyway !" and everybody was like "Yeah ! Todly !" Embark must be eating its hat right now.
The trailer looked sick from the very first second and then Dancing On My Own started playing. Man, when I tell you I wasn't ready for the HYPE! So exciting!!!!
Just an endless effort of work - and yet I'm here over and over again because of overall music, montage and feelings this trailer gives. And every time I see some new details that makes this game even more interesting. That's kind of sad - you can do an amazing programming, graphics and level design - yet if there's no catchy commercial you can't get your viewer
I remember when intro from mgs2 intro came out and this gives me that same goosebump feeling. Like someone said in comments below this whole trailer with song design and all nailed it. Can't wait for this!!
Hard to tell what the combat will really be like from these snippets, but the design of everything is both simple but also interesting. Mostly, weird but great choice of trailer music. Love that song.
A year later and I still come back to this trailer. At this point, I know the game can't possibly live up to that "thing" I can't put my finger on about how this trailer delivers. Netflix just needs to option the rights into a streaming series in the spirit of Stranger Things, and expand the trailer into a phenomenal show that is overdue in its existence.
Oh man, I think this game looks awesome. Speaking of 80s, I also love the logo because it reminds me of 80s VHS tape boxes, especially with that rainbow in the back.
These major companies want to make games that the future generation will like and buy the most but this OLD version of DICE is really doing a great thing. I can assure this will be a really good hit.

My hype for this quickly diminished when they announced that they switches it from an open world co op shooter to yet another extraction shooter.
