Dear friends and followers, today's video is an interview which Dutchpilotgirl and I recorded a few months back.
Michelle and I have become good friends since our first video in which we had a "fight" about which is the better plane, the Airbus A320 or Boeing 737.
We took the time to record this short interview, and you might realize it´s a few months back, as I still speak about working for Airberlin.
One question proves that the aviation world can change so rapidly. Michelle asked me, which is my favourite plane I would to fly one day. At the time the Boeing 747 was totally out of reach for me, and look how quickly everything changed in a couple of months :)

Not immediately but he loses it after not flying the a320 for too long (you have to get a certain amount of hours on the plane to keep your rating)

Could you please explain the difference between the two and what one you'd recommend and any other British airline you'd recommend. I'd also like to know what I'd need because I've been told that i need a PPL before I start training.

It’s probably done digitally
Actually the speeds are (pre-)determined by the aircraft manufacturer. They create tables (provided as part of the FCOM) where you determine speeds based on flaps, dry/wet runway and takeoff weight. V1 is different, that one only has two tables, one for dry and one for wet runways and you find the V1 speed using TOW and runway length (V1 is the speed you're committed to take off because there is not enough runway left to come to a complete stop). The tables are quite easy to read (as long you're looking in the right table).
Also, most dispatch papers already contain the calculated V speeds..

On past he flew on airberlin and when airberlin collapsed he switched to cargolux flying a 747
He flew a A320 for AirBerlin before they went bust, now he flies a B747 for Cargolux
