Lock n lube makes great attachments Brad for the grease guns locks the tip in nicely so you don't have to hold it on.

The more equipment the more the preventative maintenance. We seem to skip that step being busy . Sounds like a job for a young man who wants to learn .

Maintenance is critical. One thing I like to do is not let the gas powered equipment sit too long without using. With my health I haven’t did much for 9 months, so I try to start them once per month and let them idle for a couple minutes

Looks like it works good. Good rule is if your equipment needs fuel it time to grease. It snowed 12 inches hour from here couple nights ago. Winter hanging on. Nice video

With the amount of equipment you have to run your firewood operation, I think it would be easy to justify the $200 expense for the makita grease gun. Any time you can make a maintenance task easier (like greasing), you'll be more likely to do it regularly.

Check out the lumax grease coupler. Very compact. Been using it for years on my milwaukee grease gun.

Brad, the new grease gun looks like equipment from "Ghost Busters". Good luck with it.

Well Brad I could tell you one thing it would last probably longer than my guys on losing it. I had bought a good dewalt grease gun and my guys lost it after about a month. I went back to the pistol pump grease guns for them.

One thing you might want to do different is not use grease in the jack for the trailer. I learned an old school trucker trick from my dad if you open the cover on the jack and poor ¼-½ of a quart of oil inside on the gears, they crank a lot easier. Especially in the colder winter temperatures. Only bad part is the oil runs down the legs and makes a mess so I don't do it unless I know the trailer won't be on a customers driveway for 2 or 3 days.

Interesting product. I hope it works out. For my regular job, I work on a tugboat. We have one of the Milwaukee battery powered grease guns. It works really well considering we have hundreds of zerks to deal with. It's bulky and awkward and a lot of times, I'll just go back to the pistol grip gun if I'm just doing one piece of equipment. I just use the pistol grip gun for my firewood operation.
Maintenance is a critical thing for sure.
    Thanks for a great video!

I appreciate the trigger control you have on your grease gun.
It would be tragic for you to have a negligent discharged grease.

It's probably not much bulkier than the actual battery-powered grease gun, so if it holds up, you're in money.

    WOOW…
    I bought a 12V Lincoln grease gun back in 2011 for $130.
Priceless when you have a degenerative wrist issue due to a broken bone.
The labor time alone makes these things worth every penny.
Skid steers and loaders every time the 10-place on the hourmeter changes.
Dump trucks we did at the end of every day especially on the hinge pins.
Gravel conveyors were a continuous round as the day happened.

A power grease gun is definitely a need when you have that much equipment to grease, love my Milwaukee grease gun! Only downside if when greasing is that easy you burn threw the tubes🤣

That attachment appears to work ok, but like you said time will tell. As for the maintenance…. I worked on farms as a kid, then cars, moved on to industrial maintenance (foundries, machine shops and then automated assembly equipment). We always went by the saying “Production is king” which meant that you don’t make money if equipment is down. Example: The one automated line I had lost $14.72 every SECOND it was down. You can bet that line was well maintained. A little time in maintenance save a lot of time fixing!

Nice find Brad. All of the electric grease guns are heavy. That looks awkward due to how far down the tube the handle is. I’m curious as to how well it will hold up for you. Have a good one.

Hello Mr. Brad. spend a few mins now greasing or hours later replacing bearings, and those special door hinges that you will never be able to get parts to replace will last forever if you take care of them, not to mention that speed and ease of operation are maintained, IF they could find a grease that tasted good, I would put it in my coffee, I might last as long as my equipment.

How often are you to lube up the conveyor chain? It looks like a dry film lube would be needed due to the dirt and dust.

Hi Brad, admire you thriftiness, but out of character for someone who has two expensive dump-trailers, new conveyor/ splitter and other top kit! Over here farmers commonly say….’the best and cheapest mechanics are oil & grease.’ So, on the grease gun, at $200 + it’s a small price to pay for the real deal! Remember that cliche…”buy nice, instead of buying twice.’ However, a bit of cheap research makes for good vids on TH-cam!! Moreover, my personal opinion is that you run a top woodyard, and good TH-cam channel. Keep it up! Len (Devon 🇬🇧)

I think you should've just spent the $. I got a Lincoln 14.4v which was 5-6 yrs ago. Don't remember how much it was. So far it's survived the rigors of a small dairy farm just fine. Only problem I have is it has just one battery
