I have owned my allis chalmers wd for over 30 years now. It was my foster dad's tractor.

Another critter back in service. Not Oliver green, but a part of the AGCO heritage family.
Ross, I'd only use the hand clutch for it's implement function (choking hay baler etc). The snapping tip on that hand lever wears out pretty fast and the only repair is welding and grinding shaping a new end on it and all the little bits down in there. Foot clutch is easy enough to use.
That may be the right way but not the Ross way

Ross, Your WD has the curved gear shift, no plate on the block below the spark plugs which means even though it says WD on the side you infect have a WD45 with the wrong decal on the side. Tom.

cut a piece of gas line hose, stuff the hose over the top of the plug as far as you can and put it in the hole and you can start the plug, there's enough grip to turn it a few times!

Ross cut you a pice of 3/8 air hose about 6 inches Long put it down over you spark plug works great getting your plugs started in straight try it sometimes. You will think me later.❤

Those things must have been very competitively priced back in the day. I guess the snap coupler was a unique feature, but you were then locked into AC impments. The almost live power hand clutch was better than an H or M . BUT THAT WAS THE MOST UNCOMFORTABLE /AWKWARD TRACTOR TO OPPERATE OF ALL TIME!!!😂
Old girl is running beautiful . I never understood AC three point , so many don’t have ends on them .
I will try to enlighten you the best I can. It is a proprietary 3 point ,Upside down for AC equipment. AC equipment has a long toung on it with a steel ring on the end that when you back into it , it goes under the tractor into a snap coupler receiver and it is latched into the receicer . Now on the piece of equipment you also have solid adjustable arms one right and one left these arms have yokes on the ends that go into the snap coupler ends on the tractor lift arms. The equipment is now attached and can be raised and adjusted for use. It is a slick setup except you have to use AC attachments. I hope I have been helpful in answering your question.👍🇺🇸😎🙏🏽✌🏻
Glad to see the old Allis Chalmers is good to go. I have two of them and like both.
Hopefully that fixed the overheating issue. I fought that with my one 60 but it was because the radiator was plugged up with crap. I hooked the garden hose to the bottom and pushed water up through the rad and that still didn't clean it out so I blew compressed air in the drain at the bottom while I was running water. It erupted like a volcano out of the filler neck and after a few times of doing that it was cleared out enough to work properly 😂😂😂

A friend of mine is putting a WD45 crate engine in a WC.
From what I can see it has a 45 block and manifold. Does have the tall head a 45 would have but they came on late WD's also. Distributor drive is from a WD. I 'think' the carb is from a WD, oil bath definitely is. The most important part, the crank, is kind of hard to see. Lots of changes can happen in 70 years! Those thermostat bypass hoses are fun aren't they? Had a power steering belt rub a hole in one once, had to fashion a partial hard line to combat that. I could use one of those torque adapters!

Having to add length to the end of your tool to get your plug-in is always a problem. I always thought AC was crazy and cheap by putting the heat gauge and oil pressure gauges where they did. They were that way on our CA and I hated having to lean way over to see the Oil pressure or try to focus my eyes at the water temp gauge out there where one needed corrective lens to read it.

With that bent shifter it's a wd45 tractor not a wd unless they changed the shifter

My dad had of of these WD45's and it's not a comfortable ride at all.
