    Thanks! So I swapped the right side, but the brake lights are dim, and the parking lights do not work. Any ideas?

    I use rubber gloves to pull it out, it saves it from chippings etc.

    Did the same mistake with the battery screw on the connector, now I can’t tight up my negative connector in the battery

    All in all this was a fairly straightforward and simple repair. What other types on content would you all like to see with this car?

    Great video. Looks like you're the only one who has made one about this harness. I'm confused as to were the 2 brown wires where connected. I know 1 was on the plug. Where is the other attached?

    • @TurboShotIncredible
      @TurboShotIncredible  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you! One side goes to the plug, and the other goes to the updated taillight assembly. There's an added spot there for it. It was hard to film since I needed both hands and didn't have a tripod with me

    The European version looks nothing like this. From the outside, yes, but it's equipped with LEDs, not old-scool bulbs and you can NOT take it apart. It's glued together on top of the 8-10 screws. You might get away with heating it in an oven to make the goo-glue soft, but I opted not to. As you may understand, the EU/LED version has the same issue (indicator lights).

      That would be the late model LCI version for us in the states

    I recently performed this repair on a 2016 228i. The hardest part was removing the bulb assembly, and snapping the new one back in place which was very tight. After it was completed, the reverse function did not work. Back to the drawing board, and thanks for the great post!

    • @TurboShotIncredible
      @TurboShotIncredible  ปีที่แล้ว

      Totally agree, that part was definitely difficult, which is why it wasn't recorded, needed both hands. Sorry to hear about your reverse light. Maybe another wire came loose?

    • @keithp115
      @keithp115 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TurboShotIncredible Hopefully. I’m guessing I’ll have to remove the reverse wire only and reinstall it. Does it make a difference if the pin connector is upside down? And I’m having trouble locating a wire schematic for the reverse wire only

    Thanks this is helpful. My 2019 M2 started giving me rear lamp error. Unfortunately my warranty is done. Bmw should do a recall on this. Everyone I know that has a m2 has this light issue. I search the wiring part number and it says it’s for a n55 M2. Mine has the S55. Need to check if I have the update already?

    • @TurboShotIncredible
      @TurboShotIncredible  ปีที่แล้ว

      Check your vin / manufacturer date to see if your car is LCI. It should be. If it is, it'll require slightly different harness and repair procedure.

    No matter how much I tried, the connector would not come off. The white tab was at the highest top position. Is there some trick here? Without that connector off, I am unable to figure out if its is a harness issue or a corroded connector issue..

    how you crimp the pins, I haven't seen a video of anyone describing the crimping procedures

    • @TurboShotIncredible
      @TurboShotIncredible  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Since I was on my phone with no tripod at the time, wasn't able to effectively film that part since I needed both hands. Very crucial part, it is simple though. Right above the part where you break the terminal off its supporting bracket, there is a section that looks like [___] that then leads into the terminal end. You are simply crimping or folding that flat part into itself, to lock the wire in place. It should look like the center of an open book once crimped together. I can't post photos here but, hope that helps! @0:11 you can see the folded part Im talking about right about the green rubber gromet.

    How much did this whole assembly cost you including parts.
    I’m being quoted 500 to replace it because it’s cracked(glass shield) and the bulbs are fine but it’s all in one.
    Trying to see if it’ll come out cheaper to purchase the part and DIY

    • @TurboShotIncredible
      @TurboShotIncredible  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      When I looked for the complete assembly, it was around $300 for the part alone. If you add in general dealership labor of 150/hour, plus tax, I can see how they got you a quote $500. There are links in the description of the video with prices for the parts used here.

      what do you do with the extra brown ground cable?

    • @TurboShotIncredible
      @TurboShotIncredible  ปีที่แล้ว

      It is not extra, that is a secondary ground from the lamp assembly that goes back to the connecting harness.
      You splice into the existing ground to create 2 ground points.

    • @Maurice-ge9ex
      @Maurice-ge9ex 18 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@TurboShotIncredible good to explain since you didn't show that splice in the video and can't seem to find the procedure anywhere. Ground is Brown, Right? I have a 2016 m235xi with 26k km, and the right tail light just blew. Gonna get both sides parts just in case they get discontinued.
