- This time last year we attended Street Machine’s Drag Challenge, a 5 day street car torture test where competitors must drive their car to each track without assistance. We jumped in with the Tunnel Vision crew in their 8-second Ford Barra powered XD Falcon, and what a week we had coming in 6th place overall. Can we do it again?

Great upload, and I like the attitudes of no whinging or moaning! People were willing to stop to help others out. People at the tracks helping someone else with a part, a tool or just a bit of advice. Just all round it looked and felt like it was fun, no sheep stations up for grabs, just camaraderie between competitors and they put on a show for the punters. Awesome job Street Machine TV, great filming from Full Boost/Street Machine TV and I see some serious bits of kit under those bonnets, gives me a buzz to hear a V8 at full noise and going flat out, magic, you have a new fan and subscriber.
That was awesome footage boys. A different side of Drag Challenge that most people didn't get to see. Thank you. 🤘

Congrats Dandy engines. Showing the SE of Melbourne/Victoria still has good things to offer as well as hard working families and generally good peopke. Not just the crap you see on ACA, TT and the nightly news on the regular.
By far the best drag racing event/organisation in Australia.. well in my opinion. One that I really want to be part of one day. Hats off to FullBoost for providing us the goods! Love your footage guys, legends

You can always count on Fullboost to provide a great spread of cars in the footage. I follow several channels and you guys have been the only one's to my knowledge that gave a rotary the time of day. How much of a top bloke is Frank, so humble and gracious. Really enjoyed your footage. Cheers boys.

Not even half way through and this is already better coverage than all of SM's vids. Why is it they only cover the top 5 or 6 cars properly? #frustrating. Sorry about the motor in the XD too.

Bad luck with the falcon absolutely love that car. A friend's dadhad one of those same colour, smoked in it all the time and it absolutely stank. Love seeing one made into an amazing car.

how did damaging the trans allow the motor to spin to 9500RPM? why didnt the ECU rev limiter do its thing?
A limiter can't stop a mechanical failure...
ummm yeah i never said that? i mean when the box lets go and the motor free revs, why doesnt the rev limiter kick in as if you were revving in neutral. Thats what happened when my auto has let go half way down the strip. The explanation sounded like the motor spun up to a higher RPM than normally allowed. or have i misunderstood?
@@GTRwilson Possibly due to the engine un loading so quickly the engine spun past the point of where the rev limiter wasnt able to catch it in time.
@@GTRwilson there can deff be some slight delay with rev limiters in ecu's dude. In a case like this when the motor is under heavy load the mechanical failure happens so suddenly that it's common to see engines spin well past intended rev limits. The weight of the rotating assemblies and rate of accelleration of that assembly makes it hard for the ecu to slow it all down insantly. There is always a brief delay if you look at the data logs after a driveline failure

A 626 with a Barra or LS. Apparently there's a red one set up for 1/4 mile runs in a shed somewhere Luke can use as a shell to put it in. 🤣😂

@@danielbrealey2924 HB Cosmo is the factory one with the 12A turbo. Most of the HB 929s have rusted away here. Although I am seeing a couple of HC 929s (factory V6) on carsales for about 3K. 😉

@@MafiaboysWorld i had a mate 20 years ago in Perth who had a dark green rotory powered 929. I thought it had a 13B in it. Maybe it was swapped in. But funnily enough it had a 13B badge on it as well, which could have belonged to a different vehicle as well i suppose...

Why only 1000ft at Calder?
There was a car in the class close to running 200mph, which can't be done there, so it was limited.
For fucks sake!!!! A 9 sec car 3 years ago was fast... its now at high 6's . Ayfkm.
