It's not even all wheel drive . Because a gtr drivetrain is 4wd get your facts right. It's not a Subaru or audi that are AWD. 4wd and awd both different. Where is the centre diff in a gtr gearbox !!!? Doesn't have one
@some random guy Not necessarily. His attitude needs work but technically he's right. An AWD system shares drive between all four wheels at all times. A 4WD system (like the GTR has) runs in RWD and transfers drive to the front only under certain conditions. Most AWD systems (like Audis, VWs, Subarus, and Mitsubishis) are Front drive dominant, meaning they are predominantly FWD cars that apportion some drive to the rear, either mechanically (like the Audi torsen diff system) or electronically. Most AWD cars apportion more drive to the front than the rear, although there have been exceptions to this over the years. The point is that all four wheels are driven to some degree at all times. Nissan's ATTESA system used in the GTRs is more akin to an off-road SUV or truck system in that it runs in RWD, but is able to send drive to the front under certain conditions, either electronically (like the GTR and modern SUVs) or mechanically (by the physical engagement of the front wheels like an older SUV or truck). This type of system where all four wheels are NOT driven at all times is called 4WD. So there you go. AWD and 4WD aren't the same thing.
