I grew up in Houston but didn't get to see Pantera till the last tour in Calgary. It's the most important concert I witnessed. Damageplan crushed too. I still teach music because Zakk told to never get a real job when I met him at a CD signing. This concert will be watched with googly eyes for sure
I’m definitely looking forward to hearing more of how this reunion will play out, Charlie is a great drummer and I know he’ll do Vinnie’s parts well and Zakk was super close friends with Dime (not to mention Zakk did write “In This River” after Dime tragically left us like these guys said) so I have a good feeling that he’ll fucking kill it as well
Zakk did not write In this River after Dime died. He wrote and completed that song well before Dime was killed. He did make the video about Dime though.
@@FatLadyKiller Zakk has said that in so many interviews and when they play it live, it was already written and recorded but it just so happened the lyrics fit perfect for a tribute so they made that video and dedicated the song to dime.
Anyone who loves panteras music GO and see this. No it's not the WHOLE band but it's as close as it could ever be to seeing them. Unfortunately they can't ever be whole agian but zakk was close with Dime and is absolutely amazing live and worth the cost of admission himself and to have Rex and Phil together agian. I've seen them in 90s and Phil is one of the greatest front men. So much energy.
Vinnie was clear, Pantera would never play again. This obviously defies the founder's wishes and should be a tribute show instead. It's definitely not Pantera without the Abbotts, it was their band.
@@JerryOliver Ya this is BS and Zakk is the wrong guy. They should do a tribute and use many musicians. Oh wait they already have Dimefest, this is just a money grab
Pantera was started by the brothers as a makeup glam band like kiss one of there favorite bands as kids. Had Phil not taking over vocals and writing the lyrics there's no chance we're even having this discussion. So why doesn't Phil and Rex have the right to do a tribute tour? That's what it is. A tribute to Pantera. If ya don't like it stay home
Their is a bunch of people just putting the whole idea down, It's not Dime, And it's not Vinnie, YES, Everyone is well aware It's not the original Pantera lineup, And Yes, Their styles are probably a little different, But, Like Zakk said it is to honor Dime and Vinnie, and you know If Dime and Vinnie Could reach out behind the grave, They would still want Pantera songs to be heard live, and their only request would be to play it loud enough to raddle heaven's gate.
Vinnie officially stated that he did not want to. Dimebag formed another band after the departure of the vocalist. Phil generally abandoned his comrades for several years before they were killed.
Bring this on! Phil better be able to sign still and if so this will be EPIC!! I agree, fuck the haters. Dime was my favorite guitarist ever, I cried when he died. Zakk is in my top 5 ever and the only guitarist I can envision taking up that mantle. Remember when Jeff died and Gary took over wit Slayer? Zakk can fit just like Gary did/does.
Pantera just isn't those 4 guys either. The crowd plays a participatory role in the band. No other crowd is as active as a Pantera crowd. Except maybe Gwar
When Dime and Vinnie died a part me died not only because they were fellow Texans in edition part of my childhood but they were great people they will truly be missed
I was AT that show in Milwaukee when BLS came back. I actually got to do the whole meet & greet and Father Z was just so glad to be back, back in his element. Best damn show I have seen in the last decade at least!
Respect to Zakk, he’s gonna be great and dime wouldn’t want anyone else to do it, but I think Ola England should have been included, he’s better at Pantera songs on guitar
I saw Pantera several times between 88 and 91 before the Cowboys album. Dime was the most awesome dude to fans. I saw them last on the Far Beyond Driven and it was an awesome show.
Crazy thing is...I had a good buddy that was part of their crew back when they used to play Joe's garage in Fort worth! Shit, dime and Vinny grew up 2 streets over from my grandma...and...still, I never saw them live after they hit it big!

Well everyone, I guess todays the the day. Pantera, returns. We may be missing two of them in a physical form, but I guarantee you, they are all over the place loving this one. To Dime and Vinnie, thank you boys. You were wonderful.
@@deadreckoning4132 My point is Vinnie (when he was still alive ofc) said there's no Pantera without Dime and he didn't want to reunite again and Pantera to be used as a name for the band ever again. Vinnie still had some bad blood with Phil too. I just think they all should respect Vinnie's will but they didn't. The band playing under the name Pantera is going to sell way more tickets etc., more money for all. That's what it's all about in end but masked as a tribute somehow. It's more money related than to celebrate Pantera's music.

I think this should be presented as something along the line of Phil Anselmo and Rex Brown present: the Pantera Tribute Tour featuring Zakk Wylde and Charlie Benante (or whoever they end up going with) I know its a lengthy title, but its accurate, pleases the fans for the most part and perfectly describes what it is. Everyone will just call it the pantera tribute tour for short anyway and the diehards going on about how "PANTERA WILL NEVER REUNITE, IT DIED WITH THE BROTHERS, VINNIE SAID HE WOULD NEVER REUNITE PANTERA, THIS IS JUST A CASH GRAB BY PHIL AND REX NOW THAT VINNIE IS DEAD" can chill out because it wouldn't be advertised as a pantera "reunion tour". Whether you like it or not, phil and rex both made up half of pantera and i dont think you could easily replace any of the members. They each brought something unique to the sound and pantera is obviously a huge part of rex and phils lives. They contributed heavily in the writing of the music and it is their right to play the music that they wrote. I think the wording/advertising is key here in making this a successful tour in the eyes of the fans
@@timbodnar6711 you must be blind if you havent noticed the divide between fans on any of the posts related to this tour. A lot of support on this video sure, but its not hard to find people bitching about how "this isnt pantera" and "vinnie paul wouldnt have wanted this. Call it a tribute tour not a reunion", etc... Personally i dont give a fuck what they call it because im gonna support it either way. Im a fan of pantera and that includes every member of the band not just dime and vinnie. Its pretty clear theres a lot of people who are the opposite and only like pantera because of the brothers and think the band should have died with them. This tour is going to be the next best thing you can get to a pantera show especially for the younger fans who didnt get a chance to see the original lineup. All i was trying to say is that calling it a reunion seems to be pissing off a lot of the "fans". Zakk said it perfectly here in this video. Hes not replacing dime, hes going out and putting on the best show he can in his honor. And if they're gonna ask him to do it, why would he say no? Im not trying to force my dumb opinion on everyone, im just trying to say that calling the tour what it is might please some of the more bitter people out there. I'm not one of them lol, ill be more than happy to support these guys no matter how they market it or who they have playing guitar/drums.

5:03 I swear I keep thinking this is Paul Stanley, with a hair cut, in the middle.
Lucky enough to see them on the Fucking Hostile tour. Even got one of Dime's guitar picks from it.
I seen em for reinventing the steel tour. Came out with 3 dime picks 🤟🤟
11:36. I just noticed that dude is licking his lips at Zakk.
@B Ulrich Damn! lucky you. You got your pull right!
@B Ulrich I spent 2 days at 5150 with Eddie Van Halen and Alex.
@B Ulrich I even have the piano recording Ed did.
Money money money!!!
Sure, its not the same because half of the band is gone, but it is great to at least see Phil and Rex tour under the Pantera banner again. Gotta cherish the little things while we can.
Then call it a TRIBUTE not a FUCKING REUNION. You cannot reunite something the isn't able to be brought together.
@@krmitt5
I didn't call it a reunion.
I'm gonna say that if your like me and never had the chance to see Pantera with Vinnie and Dime, you could see the tribute Pantera then go pay your respects at Vinnie and Dimes memorial, even though those guys aren't alive anymore, they still live on in memory and in spirit, and I know they will definitely be on stage with the other guys in spirit!
RIP Dime and Vinnie, Jeffrey Thompson, Nathan Bray, Erin Hawk
First concert I ever went to was Pantera with soulfly and morbid angel. Can’t wait to see this upcoming lineup. Dime would want people to hear his music. Rip abbot brothers.
@@timechild1261 2000 or 2001 I don’t remember exactly. I saw them at the universal amphitheater at universal studios in Los Angeles. Such an amazing show.
2001 and nothingface opened
If anyone can do a dime rif it's this legend. Can't wait I'll catch it anywhere I can.
Shot out Jose love your liquid metal work.
ALL HAIL ZAKK
Just bought a new Wylde Audio Blood Eagle Mahogany Blackout! Great guitar! Zakk Wylde! One of my biggest inspirations to play guitar! Seen Pantera at an Ozzfest years ago. This tribute to Pantera will be awesome!
Father this, pontiff that, saint this.... Gimme a break
Zakk can even kick back and be cool with two suck up tools like them. Can't wait to see this tour!
I grew up in Houston but didn't get to see Pantera till the last tour in Calgary. It's the most important concert I witnessed. Damageplan crushed too. I still teach music because Zakk told to never get a real job when I met him at a CD signing. This concert will be watched with googly eyes for sure
Soo Awsome With Zakk back with/on Ozzy records ✨🌟👍👍🌟✨
@@nicdrost7359 Exactly, yeah
Zakk Wylde plays girly rock.
@@rycor9117 bingo
To add to your point Charlie and Anthrax were also close to Dime, but Charlie doesn't talk about it in every interview
Rock on 🤘
As long Zacc doesn't use the bullseye guitar I think this could go well
Iev not look too much into this pantera thing but now that i know that zakk is in on it im stoked fir it
Their is a bunch of people just putting the whole idea down, It's not Dime, And it's not Vinnie, YES, Everyone is well aware It's not the original Pantera lineup, And Yes, Their styles are probably a little different, But, Like Zakk said it is to honor Dime and Vinnie, and you know If Dime and Vinnie Could reach out behind the grave, They would still want Pantera songs to be heard live, and their only request would be to play it loud enough to raddle heaven's gate.
Vinnie officially stated that he did not want to. Dimebag formed another band after the departure of the vocalist. Phil generally abandoned his comrades for several years before they were killed.
@@mediacommand Must be a portmanteau of "rad" and "rattle." Lol.
Thing is we know who the hater is, same guy who was so centered on himself that he made a big ugly mess.
I want someone to look at me the same way Jose looks at Zakk.
😂
Zakk’s looking healthy ✌️
I know Zakk must have his own tech but I really hope Grady Champion is involved in the tour
@B Ulrich k
Pantera just isn't those 4 guys either. The crowd plays a participatory role in the band. No other crowd is as active as a Pantera crowd. Except maybe Gwar
Zakk without his leather wrist bands. It must be his "summer attire"
Dime needs a lineup of guitarists to fill his shoes. Zakk ain't gonna cut it
Get ready for Pantera with an overload of pinched harmonics! 🤘
The longer I listen to Zakk the more he sounds like Peter Griffin
🤣🤣🤣🤣....now I can't unhear it!!
He was actually the inspiration...
Too true
@@guygrayson9859 Well HE is from the New England Area.
Lmao
When I got to meet Vinnie at NAMM during a meet and greet, they had to higher extra security to keep jose mangin off Vinnie's leg.
🤣 Couldn't imagine if Dimebag was still alive & a part of this interview. There'd b enough drool from that 🤩cat to drown them all.
Zakk and Charlie was my two picks to fill in at the Pantera reunion tour!!
They're Out There!!!!
You Out There???
I want to be.
Looks kick ass to me.
Best damn show I have seen in the last decade at least!
can not waith to see zakk playing the cemetery gates 🤘🤘
Respect to Zakk, he’s gonna be great and dime wouldn’t want anyone else to do it, but I think Ola England should have been included, he’s better at Pantera songs on guitar
Ola is a good guitarist and a cool character but he's a TH-camr at then end of the day, its only fitting that Zakk does the gig.
@@virgboogie has also in 2 bands
I saw Pantera several times between 88 and 91 before the Cowboys album. Dime was the most awesome dude to fans. I saw them last on the Far Beyond Driven and it was an awesome show.
Celebration of Pantera,!
Crazy thing is...I had a good buddy that was part of their crew back when they used to play Joe's garage in Fort worth! Shit, dime and Vinny grew up 2 streets over from my grandma...and...still, I never saw them live after they hit it big!
The Arlington crew are good people. Still riding together.
Remember the Irving Mall? Dime would go there just to bully the mall cop lol.
Zakk needs to use One of Dimes Rigs on the road!! Just to get that Dime sound!!! They need to do Floods!!!!!🤘🏻🤘🏻🤟🏻🤟🏻
Still tear up when I hear Dimes solo on that song 🥺
Love to see zakk doin it. Beautiful
ZAKK is the perfect fit for Pantera tribute to DIME what a monster jamz gonna be massive.
Epic 🤘😎🤘🎸🎶🎶🎶 All us old heads can't wait!
i don’t see why people are tripping about this i love pantera dimebags riffs made me want to play guitar this “reunion” is really just a celebration and a tribute and zakk and charlie are literally the perfect people to play in the place of dime and vin i never got to see pantera live so i’m definitely going to go and see this it’s gonna be sick to hear my favorite pantera songs live i know it won’t be as cool as seeing them with the dime and vin but it’ll still be awesome
HELL YEAH! Can’t wait to see this fuckin’ tour! CFH forever stronger than all!
✊️
Well everyone, I guess todays the the day. Pantera, returns. We may be missing two of them in a physical form, but I guarantee you, they are all over the place loving this one. To Dime and Vinnie, thank you boys. You were wonderful.
Yeah...its missing the 2 founders of the band. Rexy is NOT a founder..hes just a forgetful old drunk.
You guarantee? I really don't believe Vinnie is happy about it. They should not use Pantera as the band name...but...the money machine is too strong.
@@MLCrow well, they're not going to do it for free. They still have to make a living too.
@@MLCrow well it really doesn't matter what you think now does it? It's up to them and they're the ones putting on the show. Unless you're in your 40s, I've been a Pantera fan longer than you have. One of the first metal bands I got into way back in the early '90s. If a show comes locally, I'll go see it. I know it's not Pantera. But we're living in a time where our music is dying and I will do anything to support metal events.
saw them twice ...pretty cool ..never bought any albums or thought they were the most ..pretty cool
It could only be Zakk. Can't wait.
Pantera late 90's portland meadows. Beat show I've ever seen! Remember like it was yesterday. Amazing!!!
I’m going to see BLS, can’t wait
Zach, bro your an amazing guitar player and can't wait to hear this!!! Dude no tats?
Love Zakk, Fellow Jersey Brother, cool Guy!
This tour is gonna be absolutely HUGE!! I'm in Upstate NY and we have an arena close to to my home in Albany. I really hope they make a pit stop there to play but if not, looks like I'll be going to NYC for the first time in my life!
Hopefully it will be at the Times Union Center, or SPAC. If not, look for them at the XFINITY CENTER in Ma., or the DCU Center in Worcester, Ma., orrrrrrr the Bastin Garden, in Bastin, Ma. lol.....lil' "Boston" accent there. 🤘🏻😁
Times Union would be awesome. Guess it depends on if they can fill up arenas or not. I'm assuming they will.

Upstate Concert Hall maybe, or the Palace Theater would also be a great place.
Fucknyeah zak fckn wylde he’s awesome became a fan when I first saw him on guitar hero world tour his song Stillborn with Black Label Society put me on
I love the Ozzy stories
When I first heard Zakk was doing this I was really surprised. But, knowing more now and understanding it, I trust Zakk completely. Nobody knew the Abbott brothers better than him. He will not dishonor those guys or that music. There is nobody else better suited for the job.
Saw you in generation x,amazing thank you,but your Pantera lineup is gonna be amazing.i can't wait to see that show.please come back to florida.i wanted to see you in black label society.but I couldn't I had to work.i know you are gonna do a great show for us.cool😁👍💡🤪💖🎊🌟🤘🍺
I think this should be presented as something along the line of
Phil Anselmo and Rex Brown present: the Pantera Tribute Tour featuring Zakk Wylde and Charlie Benante (or whoever they end up going with)
I know its a lengthy title, but its accurate, pleases the fans for the most part and perfectly describes what it is.
Let's make sure you feel good about it. What a dumb topic to have an opinion on
@@timbodnar6711 you must be blind if you havent noticed the divide between fans on any of the posts related to this tour.
Can we expect any canadian tour dates? More specifically vancouver? If not in gonna need to get a passport fast lol
Pantera at 4:43

It's going to be Epic. I do believe 🤘 and Speedy recovery for The Boss Ozzy 🙏
I was fortunate enough to see every Pantera tour from Vulgar on & even tho Pantera can never be replicated, I’m looking forward to the celebration!
Me too. Im from Texas & one day on my way home from college I heard that Dead Horse & The Cowboys From Hell were playing a banquet hall. I stopped @ first pay phone, called my girl told her go buy tickets this has 2 be Pantera playing under a different name. Sure enough it was, bad ass show.
What about Pride & Glory? Are they ever gonna make another album?
I doubt it.
