For him, I think it's not just hitting the stage and playing Pantera songs, Zakk Wylde know it's not just picking the guitar and playing these songs there are so much going on in his mind !
Zakk was a big reason I started playing guitar. I even used to spell my name Zakk in high school. There isn’t a more perfect fit to step in for Dime than Zakk.
I'm pretty sure I had a pretty big smile for the entire interview . Two of my favorite person talking to each other about the other person I like the most, you made my day !! Thank you Ola !!! 🤘
Thank you for sharing this. I am also eager to catch them live. It would be my 6th time seeing Pantera. I love hearing Zakk's thoughts on why it is an awesome idea and comparisons to other tributes. Like him playing Sabbath and Randy Rhoad's songs for decades. It is just as awesome and I think people should cut him some slack for doing this for the same reason as the other greats he covers. Zakk is one of my favorite guitarists and he's funny as hell too. Great interview.
Estoy emocionado por ver a Zakk hacer ésto, solo por qué siento que en el fondo si dime pudiera verlo tocar sus canciones a su hermano Zakk se sintiera muy feliz

Zakk's love and respect for the brothers makes him the perfect person to pay tribute to Dime. He's an amazing human. Down to earth & loves to hang with fans like the brothers did.
I met Zakk with my son twice, and he's always super awesome, such a great guy. I still have my Marshall JCM800 4010 combo he signed back in 2007. Just a fun guy, really hoping the Pantera shows come this way, would absolutely love to go!

Dude, in what world is Zakk underrated? Obviously your world, but in the REAL world, Zakk is a friggin' legend and admired by more people than most guitarist on this planet. He is highly rated and one of the most popular guitarist ever. How can you be with Ozzy for all those years and be underrated? You can't. I just don't get your comment, other than it's worth some cheap thumbs up.
@@valuedhumanoid6574 Hang on a minute here I’m a massive Zakk fan he has tons of fans I’m one of them ,but I think he is underated by some guitarists yes mainly by prog guys that have no feel, try not to twist my words pls
What an accomplishment and compliment to have a guitar legend such as Zakk to acknowledge your playing ability and internet channel. I'm vicariously smiling threw you Mr. England. I can imagine how much pride and humbleness you feel when Mr. Wylde gives you props. What a great day for you.
Zakk has always tread realms beyond. His analogies are always so heart warming, eye opening, and spot on. I specifically love the wide berth of who he tributes when speaking about music - his musical appreciation across the board, well outside of the gates of metal, is what makes him such a killer and versatile guitarist. Hell yeah!
Fun Fact: Mark Morton said in an interview that he's used TH-cam tutorials and covers of his own songs to learn how to play Lamb of God songs he forgot how to play. Yes, the songs he wrote, he's forgotten, and then used TH-cam covers and tutorials to re-learn them. It's not shocking in the least that Zakk learns songs that he doesn't know the same way anyone else would. Difference is that he has the talent, ambition, and dedication to be able to do it whereas most guitar players don't put in the work. If Zakk could replace Randy back in the day just using the tracks and the poor quality tab books of the day, he's going to have no problem nailing Dime's tracks.
He also had to learn Jake's stuff and any Iommi he didn't already know. Three unique styles from three greats. Plus work on his new stuff. Wow! I saw him on his first Ozzy tour (No Rest for the Wicked) he was a beast.
@@chipchiperson679 its not only solos but chords, structure all of it its just resultant of what originals are. Im not saying its wrong or anything. He just don't give a damn as long as he hits the right note.Sometimes it's like Xmas tree with too much decoration.
I WORSHIPPED Zakk's style when i was learning how to solo in the early 2000's as a teenager and to some extent those things never go away even after all these years
The part about learning solos and forgetting them so relatable! I practised the No More Tears solo for hours and hours ready to film, inured my hand was out of action for a month came back and it was back to square one 😂 not giving up though!
2 things. I love that you have your own guitar company but still have other brands on display. The way it should be! Second I really love the overlay effect you use in this. Thanks, dude.
I've watched you years ago, trying out hotrod Richie Blackmore Engl amps to now chilling with the man, Zakk Wylde with your own line of instruments and such. Cheers to the future.
He is obviously learning all the hard stuff first being the solos. Zack is the man great interview short but we learned more in this one than most 👍 The trend is so ***dam* electric 🔥

Zakk is amazing, such a cool dude! He will do fantastic playing Dimes stuff! I saw Zakk with Ozzy is 2018 and he did like a 20 min solo in the crowd! LOL, such a monster performer!
Literally, the only guy who could step into Dime's shoes. I love what Zak said about knowing songs, just because you might be familiar with a song does not mean you know how to play it.
Hi met zakk the man is a genuinely beautiful soul he got up and shook my hand at Milton Keynes years n years ago I was blown away its nice to be nice. But it's great to be great. Zakk 4 ever 🏴
I was blown away to see ZAK WYLDE play pantera songs and sounding like 'Dimebag' himself, the walk solo was great too. I've gained much more respect for for mr Wylde.
How awesome. Had the pleasure of meeting Zakk a couple times over the years and he's exactly the same dude he is here. Super cool, super nice....just a wonderful dude.
I’ll always remember seeing Zakk at a guitar store and he played a few sabbath songs for this small crowd and he was 110% rocking out and talked to everyone like he was your pal. He was the coolest dude.
I got to meet Zakk for a meet and greet and it was the OPPOSITE of the old saying “don’t meet your heroes”. It was a truly special experience. I hope to one day do it again

Gotta love good old Zakk. One of the reasons why he is so good is because he enjoys in every possible minute on and off stage. Loves what he does more than anything. So positive, talented and just a great dude that can do whatever you want with that guitar. One of the greatest for sure. Respect
Loved the interview! Zakk's just a funny, humble and down to earth guy, who happens to be one of the best guitar players out there xD Thanks for bringing us this amazing chat, Ola. Cheers!
Fully on board with the Pantera thing now, the way he puts it you can tell he's totally doing it for the right reasons and if he says Dime and Vinnie would have loved it then you'd have to believe that's true 🤘🏼
Zakk is such an awesome dude! Great interview, one of my favorite guitar players. I wish I had tickets to one of the up coming Pantera shows, unfortunately I wasn’t able to get one. Zakk Wylde is definitely the best dude to be playing these shows in honor of Dimebag. Never got to see Dimebag play live, bc I didn’t discover Pantera til after he had passed away (I would’ve also been too young to go anyway lol) but I have heard great stories about those shows
Love the realness in learning guitar parts and forgetting them 10 minutes later. Using a album for a guide, then being able to play with out the album. 2 different things. So cool to admit that. Great interview.
Man, I'm so excited for the Pantera tribute. One thing I do hope though, I hope they at least release a live album so people who can't afford to go can still listen to the tribute.
I don’t watch your channel much but I discovered your channel when you only had a handful of videos of you just riffing through dual recs…. Great to see the progression and the respect you’ve garnered - this interview was very satisfying to watch from this perspective. Big respect to you, Ola.
Hell yeah man. What a great interview!! Im a sloppy amateur at guitar and Zakk's Comments about playing with and without a record was a breath of fresh air. Such cool dude's...both of them.
So happy for you getting to talk with Zakk Ola! I was lucky enough to catch him on the generation axe tour here in the U.S. and it was killer to see him running all over the venue blazing for ten minutes straight! He is such a down to earth guy!
I was in the front row center stage in 2016 at the Fox theatre in Oakland Ca for the Zakk Wylde, Steve Vai, Yngwie Malmsteen, Nuno Bettencourt, Tosin Abasi show and Zakk walked off the stage during a solo and stood in the middle of the crowd and ripped for what seemed like 10 minutes straight with no breaks it was amazing, the guy is a machine and an incredible player. That was one of the best shows I've ever seen. Probably my second favorite Zakk Wylde show was when he had Pride and Glory and opened for Aerosmith in Sacramento in the early 90's that show was incredible! He's a legend and literally the only person worthy of the Pantera tribute shows!
First time for me really giving the attention Zakk Wylde deserves. I know his face and his name since I started listening to metal 30 years ago but I had never understood the hype on this guy. And then, with this interview, all became clear : this guy is litteraly sweating music and energy. This is a lightning. Thanks Ola !

Which I thought was awesome of him, though I don't remeber any of the names. it's cool he thinks like that instead of just making things about himself.
RAN INTO ZAKK in a bar on long island in 92 got drunk then jammed all night long with him ! he really is a down to earth dude
For him, I think it's not just hitting the stage and playing Pantera songs, Zakk Wylde know it's not just picking the guitar and playing these songs there are so much going on in his mind !
Awsome conversation. What an honor to have zakk say you helped him learn a Pantera song. 😀 I wouldn't be able to stop smiling. Lol
They say never meet your hero’s. Zakk seems so down to earth bro. Great interview
My new favorite musician. I always mostly liked Zakk but now after this Pantera tribute shows and tour I am now blown away. So cool. This interview shows what an awesome guy he is too.
Love the whole interview! Zakk is gonna do Dime proud...but holy shit, I've been a fan of Zakk since I was a kid, and his sense of humor is on another level 18:01 "It was rather...very un-good". That got me hahaha
Zakk's love and respect for the brothers makes him the perfect person to pay tribute to Dime. He's an amazing human. Down to earth & loves to hang with fans like the brothers did.
Awesome man! Zakk is the best! Favourite guitarist of all time! Great tone cool guitars! The best beard ever too. Watching now, already gave a like!
I met Zakk with my son twice, and he's always super awesome, such a great guy. I still have my Marshall JCM800 4010 combo he signed back in 2007. Just a fun guy, really hoping the Pantera shows come this way, would absolutely love to go!
I can't wait to hear Zach playing Panteras riffs
Brought me to tears when he said about using the guitars Dime gave him for the shows. ❤️🤘
I love that kind of stuff. Rob Flynn writing and playing Aesthetics Of Hate on the guitar Dime gave him always hit me in the feels.
Better hire a security guard to watch them around the clock. You know dirtbags will be looking to steal that stuff.
@@shanelewis7052 Actually wish Flynn was doing this tribute instead!
@@mikeg6666 THAT would be interesting. Lol
@@bove2k918 I just think his style of music is more inline with Pantera's. I was listening to an interview with him a couple weeks ago and he was saying how Dime was a fan of theirs....
Its nice to hear Zakk getting ready for this tour. Im sure he will do a great job covering his friends music. I still have the guitar world centerfold with Zakk and Dime.
Massively underated player imo his pentatonic high speed licks are unmistakably his and that’s his sound 👏
@@valuedhumanoid6574 I've heard people complain that Zack only plays the Pentatonic.
Zakk Wylde underrated? Were you born yesterday or what?
@@valuedhumanoid6574 Hang on a minute here I’m a massive Zakk fan he has tons of fans I’m one of them ,but I think he is underated by some guitarists yes mainly by prog guys that have no feel, try not to twist my words pls
@@Cleeemoo I had the same reaction. In what world is he underrated? Not the real world. He's fishing for cheap thumbs up for some reason
Thank you very much Ola for this interview, it was so great!
But he doesn’t play any of their stuff accurately but plays his own version of it
@@chipchiperson679 he plays around those chords whatever band he plays .
@@DerekHundik yeah Zakk plays their solos the way I would which is make it up to sound close enough
🛃🚯❌🪄🩹🩹🪬💸🎸🎼🥇
2 things. I love that you have your own guitar company but still have other brands on display. The way it should be! Second I really love the overlay effect you use in this. Thanks, dude.
Seen zakk a couple of months ago live with BLS, awesome guitar player and loud, very loud 😂🤘🏻
Great interview! Dude, That is the ultimate complement, when THE MAN, THE LEGEND, ZAKK WYLDE tells you that he referred to your channel to learn how to play a rif / the rif from "Becoming"! He seems like such a down to earth dude.
Zakk Wylde is my hero. I've looked up to him for quite some time.
What a lovely guy. I wonder what his opinion on limp bizkit is
Limp bizkit still sux C**k!!!!!
Fred Durst can suck his...
How awesome. Had the pleasure of meeting Zakk a couple times over the years and he's exactly the same dude he is here. Super cool, super nice....just a wonderful dude.
Super cool man and Zak is such a polite personable and commen sense dude.
loved it!
Great episode! Zakk is a living legend, and he gave you props. You should feel proud of that, Ola.
Just saw Zakk live with Pantera last Friday at Jiffy Lube Live in Bristow, VA. They were absolutely amazing and killed it!! Great interview man, Zakk was such a cool guy with you, as you were with him. Love it 🤘🏻
When a big badass like Zakk Wylde gets emotional I get emotional 😭. Dime is flowing through his veins.
I can't imagine the gratification of having Zakk tell you to keep posting because he is learning from you. God damn, that is awesome!
I hope he plays in this river. I know it's zakks song but I think it'd be fitting. Good interview ola!!!!
great suggestion... Id love to hear Phil Anselmo sing this song ...
Awesome Ola and Zakk! Super interview as always! Great also to see that the 'PanterA' tribute is here and I will 'again' see in person in Los Angeles as so many years so many times but was never enough! Hopefully there in Ozzfest in Devore again and again as well! I've listened to PanterA since 1986 and will die with it. I'm Dime's age. Rock In Paradise our Abbott Brothers! Five days from my writing this will be Dime's memorial of passing 12/08/'04. Bittersweet times. We spoke with Philip in person at a Down Concert in Riverside on12/05/'14 about Dime's and Corey's passings. Philip loves his brothers deeply. 333 \m/ Thank you again Ola, Zakk, Philip, Rex, Charlie, Grady 'The Dragon' Champion, Mr. Jerry Abbott, Rita, et al! 333
Was probably like everyone else and smiling the whole time watching it. Great interview and had to be mind blowing when he said he was watching your channel for Pantera riffs. Awesome all the way around. Getcha pull
Cheers!
Lot of respect for Zakk Wylde. Always been a super nice guy.
So glad you guys made the statement about recording and playing other people’s solos. I totally agree. 🤘
The most wholesome interview I've seen in some time. Congratulations, Ola!
Fully on board with the Pantera thing now, the way he puts it you can tell he's totally doing it for the right reasons and if he says Dime and Vinnie would have loved it then you'd have to believe that's true 🤘🏼
What a hero! Great that he’s a fan of your channel too.keep up the good work 💪🏻
Zakk is such an awesome dude! Great interview, one of my favorite guitar players. I wish I had tickets to one of the up coming Pantera shows, unfortunately I wasn’t able to get one. Zakk Wylde is definitely the best dude to be playing these shows in honor of Dimebag. Never got to see Dimebag play live, bc I didn’t discover Pantera til after he had passed away (I would’ve also been too young to go anyway lol) but I have heard great stories about those shows
So excited for this tour!!! seen them in 97’, in Utah, of all places!! Leeets go!!!!
Gave me the emotions lol so stoked to hear him kill IT soon. Fantastic interview. Bravo!
Dime and zakk are alike. They’re both really down to earth and have an open and friendly personality. Both guitar gods.
This is the best interview of a musican I have ever seen in my life. I had so much fun watching and listening to both of you. Thx for sharing!
Zakk is legend..... anyone that interviews him has insanse patience....
all Zakk interviews should start with "hi Zakk....and go....."
Hell yeah man. What a great interview!! Im a sloppy amateur at guitar and Zakk's Comments about playing with and without a record was a breath of fresh air. Such cool dude's...both of them.
Great Interview!
Zakk-ly what I love about Mr . Wilde!
Humbly Exciting!
ABSO-ROCKIN_-LUTELY!
So happy for you getting to talk with Zakk Ola! I was lucky enough to catch him on the generation axe tour here in the U.S. and it was killer to see him running all over the venue blazing for ten minutes straight! He is such a down to earth guy!
Superb, great interview. The respect shared between you and Zakk was so genuine, Ola. What a moment.😎🤘🏻
Really looking forward to hearing the new material Phil Zakk and Rex has written
Solid 6/10 interview. Amazing as always, Ola. It's awesome you got to talk with Zakk for a bit. Been loving your content since 2013, keep it up man!
Wow Ola.. this for me is the pinnacle!! You’ve completed life bro, so good!! Love your channel! All the best, for life!! 👊🏻
Ola I don't even play an instrument but I love metal and watch your channel religiously thank you for your content
Saw them in San Diego, California. Zakk f*cking killed it. EPIC!!!
