"Ok. That's what you think." Gene always has to get the last word.

Copycat was a sneaky good thriller. Not a masterpiece but before its time considering the boom fascination with serial killers.

Leaving Las Vegas is one of my favorite movies since I first saw it in 2022.
I felt terrible and greatly inspired at the same time. It's just this case when you can feel "the magic of the movie". I fell for Elisabeth Shue immediately and started Shue's month - I watched about 80-85% of movies with Shue!!!
From that moment she became one of my favorite actresses.
And I damn unhappy for her not having long-term international supersuccess she deserves to have.
But no matter what, there's at least one fan who desperately loves her like Ben loves Sera.

While Leaving Las Vegas blows these films out of the water, I still think Gene was too harsh on Mighty Aphrodite

I believe unless you've been personally touched by alcoholism in some way, LLV can be an over the top downer.

Love the way he slips that in there. Sounded so childish.

Leaving Las Vegas is tied with The Last Emperor as my all-time favorite movie. To me, Elisabeth Shue's performance was the single greatest by a female in film history. She got screwed out of the Oscar because the academy was desperate to give one to Sarandon before she got any older.

Sounds like Gene had to do some ADR on Mira Sorvino's name. I wonder if he mispronounced it in the original audio.

I'm stunned that Ebert said Hunter's performance was BETTER than her Multi Award Winning, Oscar included, performance in the Piano...
Roger was WAY OFF on that one
