  • This is the first major update for the Toyota HiLux in about four years, during which time it has climbed to the top of the sales charts in Australia, winning favour with tradies, fleets, weekend warriors and families alike.
    The 2020 Toyota HiLux scores a tougher front design and more power from its turbo-diesel engine, among other tweaks. There are 33 HiLux variants in total, split across petrol and diesel grades, 4x2 and 4x4 drivelines and three body styles.
    The latest changes come at a cost, with the SR5 4x4 double cab driven here now $2700 dearer than before, at just under $60k.

    Great car but way too expensive. Previous SR5 about $54k on sale. Went to a dealership today and the full retail for the new SR5 is close to $70k and the dealership claimed no discounting for several months. Seriously Toyota......do you want to push loyal Toyota customers to Isuzu and Ford that badly? Have loved my Toyota’s in the past but a decent portion of buyers will vote with their wallets and go elsewhere. Cheers

    The only real change for 2021 seems to be the power increase. Does it feel quicker than the outgoing model?
    Cosmetic changes to the exterior are too small and hence make new hilux look remarkably similar to the old one..most people would not be able to notice the difference..

    Don’t want to come across as the party police.... But...
    Nope! I’ll hold onto my 2015 Hilux SR5 thanks. The last of the best model made. They have the looks, comfort, after a tune... Power, and let’s not forget.... No bloody DPF!

      @@phillipsampson4001 i mean DEF is something i understand but whats bad about a DPF?( i am from germany) is it a reliability issue?

      Steven Günter it was. Seems Toyota have fixed the issue. Although it’s not if but when the dpf fails. An expensive item to replace.

    Nose has been cleaned up but the Dashboard is an abomination. Talking about power, forget the Ranger five cylinder or the twin turbo 2 L (like the Amarok had 10 years ago) How about comparing it to the V6 Amarok for power?

    • @stevengunter4990
      @stevengunter4990 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Because it is not an amarok.and the hilux doesnt want to be, the amarok is the most SUV like pickup of the bunch.

    Still over priced and i bet the rear seats are still rubbish.

    I prefer the Tacoma, it’s wider and actually looks like a pickup, these Asian design models are overpriced and very basic.

    💤💤💤💤 ugly, outdated interior, technology and powertrain, meh exterior and probably drives a bit like a dog. Utilitarian vehicles like utes and vans, companies really don't put any effort into. Would be interested if Kia or Hyundai released their ute soon. Probably would crush the Hilux in many ways.
