I'm fully retired at a young age and full time hobbyist. I like working outside and fall and winter kills motivation This last week I built an area that I can heat and cool. It's going to be different not working inside but it's going great working year round.
Great winter motivation idea's. The # 6 could be chasing "perfection" and stopping going forward. Many a project stops because of being too tough on one's self.
This topic really hits home for me. I have a project that I stalled on longer ago than I care to admit in public forum. But listening and watching ITG and a few others has inspired me again and I’ve gotten more done lately than I can remember in a long time. And I owe that to you guys, straight up. This year I made a new goal. I live on the west coast now, but grew up not far from you in the Harleysville/Skippack area. My new goal is not only to complete my project, but someday come visit ITG in it…
Yup Mike at Bello's Kustoms is a top notch builder. Then again he work with some of the best Kustomiser in his younger year's. He got to learn how other's did there work.
ITG is the only channel I watch faithfully, Matt's great for motivation. And his projects are cooler than mine will ever be. But, looking forward to getting this beast out of the shop and on the road keeps me going. That and learning new things, setting reasonable goals and the satisfaction that making progress brings.
Great talk, When I restored my 29 Chevy the Body's harder than the chassis , looking at just parts day after day , finally desided to put together the chassis to running Lights ,dash mounted a wood bench on the frame ended up putting 500 miles on it while finishing the body It puts the fun back in the project and getting the body done . ...great idea to put the non-visual podcast on youtube guys...one less icon in my favourites bar and one more like and comment for your channel...have been following for a couple of years now and have been back thru at least another two years content to figure out what cars you're talking about in retrospect!...(have to admit it took ages to figure out the pagoda logo was a pagoda and not a pine tree air freshener like I originally assumed!)....not a car guy myself but your philosophies and work ethic are super transferrable to all practices...more please...
Great topic! Lots for folks to chew on. Might be a can of worms, but an idea for a future episode topic could be the inverse of this one. What can kill motivation with a project.

Sounds like a great setup, we're sure you'll be cranking out projects year round now!

That is a really good point!

First time I heard Matt mentioning small victories I sticked to it and it works. Thanks for sharing these tips.
Great to hear!

That’s a fun way to do it!
@@IronTrapGarage You can't believe the interest people show for a rolling chassis at shows you never stop talking about it to people .Bill
Motivating TH-cam channels for me ITG, Pro-Shaper and Cold War Motors. All have different aspects that gets me off the couch and working.
Those are all great channels for inspiration!
