Tried this yesterday still getting used to it, but the drone and camera were excellent. Also had steady 15 mph wind gusting to 20-25 mph and was still performing excellent. Had no issues with the wind I kept going back and forth between dji, but just thought I give this a shot based on the reviews. And glad I did take the chance cause it’s awesome this is my first drone.
It's definitely a great little drone for the price.
Looking great so far. I think I'm going to buy one. I'm on the fence between this one and the DJI Mini SE 2 but I tend on liking the features of the ATOM a bit more.
The main reason I went for this drone over the SE2 was the 3 axis gimbal.

Two features of the DJI Mini2 SE are pan and 180. In pan, it takes 6 shots and stitches them together for a wide angle shot. In the 180 mode, it takes 9 shots and stitches them together. It's software and something Potensic might add to a firmware upgrade.
That would be a nice QoL upgrade.
Dji Mini 2 se is a wifi drone. forensic atom is a lot better distance 6km doesn't need wifi at all to fly.

It's a fun, useful little drone. It surprised me, especially being my very first drone.
raw video and photos, how do I do this editing?
Got a question, I see you live in the flat land but I live in the mountains, when in the follow me mode will it follow me up and down the mountain or maintain altitude and run in to the ground? Other words does it follow the contour of the land. Thank you.
That's actually a good question that I don't have an answer for right now. I am going to visit an area with much more varied elevation in a couple weeks and I'll try it out and see what happens.

Well, I took the drone with me up to the north Alabama mountains for a short family trip, and it was a perfect spot to test out the Follow Me function with elevation change. However, mother nature had other plans and it was windy/rainy the whole time and I was unable to fly while I was there.
I just purchased this drone and have barely flown it yet. I'm trying to watch this video in 1080p and find it disheartening as it comes through looking like 240p. Granted the light was low but, if it doesn't get much better than this I may return it and spend the extra money on the DJI
If this video is looking like 240p when you try viewing it at 1080p, there is an issue either with your Internet connection or the device you're trying to watch on, possibly a mismatch between the chosen resolution and the device display resolution.
I agree. I tried watching it in 4k on my 4k monitor and the video looks horrible.
Nice video - thank you! Are you happy with the RAW images? What software could you use to develop the RAW images? Are they DNG-compliant?
The raw photos come off the drone as .dng files. I've used Lightroom for editing my files, but any editor capable of handling dng should work. The stills do seem to be a bit on the soft side, but not so much that modern image editing software can't make up for it. For the price of the drone, I am quite satisfied with the images.

DJI has their sights set on bigger fish. Until you try one of these, please open your mind. Ten times the price for those other Chinese drones is not "a little more". I have no desire to support the inefficiencies inherent in that business model. But governments and large businesses around the world sure do. Soon, our hobby might be forbidden. Bought out by big politics.
I have both Potensic Atoms. Yes, they really work. Current technology at modern prices.

@@photographybybrianparton Isn't it perfect? I now have both the 3 axis gimbal and SE editions. It says what it does, and does what it says. When time is up, it describes it's actions and dutifully heads home. No worries :-)
What is the configuration that you used?
If you're asking about the camera settings, I left everything on auto for this.
Very unlike RAW video (given the occasional loss of detail). This device most likely cannot shoot in RAW. What do you mean by "RAW"?
Raw as in unedited, aside from trimming, as the drone recorded it. The drone recorded in 4K/30 as MP4 files in H.264. the photos were shot as DNG and converted to JPG for display. If there are any intermittent drops in quality, it's likely on the TH-cam end of things or your connection/device.

No one ever shows the actual flight time with a battery, and the screen doesn't have the flight statistics,,,to see a common flight, I better use my dji..
This was on one of my first flights. I hadn't figured out how to screen record on my phone (which is used on the controller as the screen and menu inputs for the drone) yet, and I will do future videos showing flight data such as battery life, etc as I use it more.
I have this drone. Each battery gives you 28-30mins of flight time. Fly more bundle gives you 3 batteries, so 1.5 hours of flight. Really impressive
I'm getting this drone till I can save up for my mini 4 pro,but this little drone offers a lot to be cheaper an do better than most in itd price range.
