  • It's been awhile since I've updated. A quick update on what I've been up to and how my scans have gone so far this year.
We just completed my latest scans this last week and I'll try to post another video update with those scan results in the next few weeks as well/

Hi, My name is Michael and I live in Salt Lake City. I'm so happy you have gotten your health back. I've been watch all of your videos and man what a journey you've been on. When you pronounced Zion correctly I giggled, yep she's from Utah. Keep smiling Katie.

Can always spot a local based on how they pronounce Zion. Thank you for the kind words and support!

Delighted to hear your positive report...AND find it most encouraging that you are using
your tech skills to develop a much needed app. As a former nurse also with an ongoing cancer hx, I can attest to the need. Also, having been at institutions converting to
an EMR ( Electronic Medical Record
/aka "EPIC") I can also attest to
residual frustrations with the system that while it greatly facilitates some things also comes
with many " bugaboos" & little opportunity for providers to give
    feedback & see desired changes
come to fruition! You GO GIRL!
    app

Cancer's really awful. A family member of mine will be undergoing liver resection in a matter of several weeks if everything goes according to the plan. We still have two chemos to go. Getting all the cancer cells out is the main issue. It's just a weird disease, and it's hard to identify due to lack of any symptoms, or you get symptoms that aren't even severe. Sadly, lots of doctors refuse to scan people. Anyhow, I'm glad to hear you're doing better and stay productive. Keep us updated. I also like that you're a developer. I assume you're doing iOS thing in Swift, right? Would love to hear more how you transitioned to this role at your previous job. Take care.

Hope you're doing well! I have my ct scan for my check up next Wednesday. I had a partial nephrectomy the end of 2021 a 4.2 cm mass clear cell carcinoma. I was 47 years old. Thankfully it was contained. I'm still very nervous and emotional about my checkups.

I love your app project! I’ve had thyroid cancer surgery and found it very difficult after that because i couldn’t speak audibly for several months. Plus there is no Followup or advice afterward.

You talked about types of cancers and sub-types being more important. Could you elaborate on that?

I was on the road to donate a kidney to my dad when they found a 5 cm mass on my right kidney 😢
They found multiple cysts in liver and next step CT scan
All of this so scary a
    Thank you for your videos

The video under what a liver resection and open nephrectomy was like touches on that a bit at the end. I’d be happy to share more if you’re looking for more specifics (it was info I was looking for too)

Your in remission there is no cure for cancer. How many people cancer comes back in 5 or 10 yrs.
