    Glad I found this video
    I am working on my first broke down ebike from kit from ebay it just stopped working when my son was out on it so I haven’t a clue what it is exactly yet but display went first replaced it with same model, still nothing but it lights up.
    Then realised after reading I needed to match controller to display. Been at it six weeks now lol
    So got a kt controller and an lcd3 to try again.
    Just waiting on extension cable coming today sometime.
    But thanks for the info it has really helped
    Good man, keep up the good work 👍👍

    I leave my PAS disconnected and just pedal when I want and power how much I want to give the motor with the throttle, that way I can pedal and power independently. It’s so much easier and less confusing.

    I have a kt controller and lcd on my second ebike, very configurable for a commercial level system.

      I built a Vawt a few years ago by copying a design I found on Otherpower.com. It had five feet long blades so a ten feet diameter, rotors made from car brake disks and home made coils. For various reasons I took it down and sold it but often regret doing so.

    • @alibro7512
      @alibro7512  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Paul
      For the motor wires you will have to use trial and error to get them right. If wrong the motor will make an odd cogging noise and won't spin but it only took me two or three goes to get it right as there are only 3 wires to the motor. I used a throttle bought from ebay and don't have pedal assist so can't help much there but the pedal assist and throttle will have three wires each. Your Voilamart throttle may have more than that but probably two of them are switch wires and one may be an extra power or ground wire. If you have a meter you can use it to find the +5V, Nutral and sense wires with the old Voilamart controller still connected.

    Hi.
    Really enjoyed watching your video useful info and knowledge.
    I have a 1500w motor on a mtx39 wheel.
    When I first had the kit.
    I had a kt sensorless Square wave controller it worked fine with phase wires blue to blue. Green to green. Yellow to yellow.
    When it was on way out I tried a kt sinewave controller.
    Power was going to the motor but would only make a slight bit of movement.
    I have heard that putting phase wires wrong way can make the motor get very warm quickly.
    Did you experience this.
    May give it another go but try the phase wires different way round.
    Thanks.

    • @alibro7512
      @alibro7512  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes I had that happen and had to change two of the phase wires. I guess it is a safety thing as with a cheap controller it would go in reverse.

    • @alibro7512
      @alibro7512  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Marty, thanks for the kind words and I'm sure you'll get it going. I have several videos on TH-cam showing how I built my ebike so take a look at those. Use the KISS system (Keep it simple Stupid) and you'll be fine.
      Are you getting power from the battery? Use a volt meter to check and if you don't have one then get one. You'll struggle to find the fault blindfolded with one hand tied behind your back.
      Is the ignition connection (if you have one) getting full battery voltage? If your throttle has a key switch is it connected properly and turned on?
      Is the throttle getting 5V from the controller?
      Is the Hall sensor connection good? Cheap controllers usually don't need Hall sensors to work but KT controllers do.
      It is only after checking all the hardware basics that you should look at the software setup but be certain to take photos of all settings BEFORE you make any changes. It is really easy to get lost and forget what the default setup is.
      If still having problems get back to me.

      Lol, no probs.
      So you have two wires from the battery. Do not short them out.
      The wires we are talking about are the three that go to the motor. It doesn't matter if the motor is sitting on your bed not connected to anything if you short out the three motor wires the motor will be harder to turn and you can feel the cogging of the magnets.
      This is harder to feel with a geared motor but might still be possible.
