Or anyone who mocks someone who shows real love and pride and happiness in their parents! I didn't know Gus was disabled until now because he acted in a normal, natural way for someone who really loves his dad, and who is excited to see the world respond to his dad, in the way that he feels! Such a beautiful moment, and it made me both happy, and miss my dad so much!

Same, I'm 58, and I tear up every time I see this.
I've watched thousands of movies and rarely have any strong emotional reactions, but the scene in The Railway Children where Jenny Agutter greets her Dad at the railway station with "Daddy, my Daddy!" gets me every time.
It's that show of un-repressed totally un-selfconscious love for one's father.

The emotional outpouring of love, admiration, and pride that Tim Walz's son (and daughter) had for him in this moment filled my heart with so much joy I had tears streaming down my face.
And when I saw the awful responses to this incredible moment, I searched out every video I could find to make sure that he knows... You are amazing, and they are legitimately jealous of the happiness you have in your life. There is a reason they are all so angry and hateful, just like the bully on the playground.

Too many people have convinced themselves that their cause is so righteous that their detractors must be literal demons, so it enrages them when they're not.

Such a beautiful moment of pure love, and yet GOP commentators such as Ann Coulter and those on Fox made fun of young Gus.

It's jealousy. No one ever loved them that much, which is why they are so bitter and hateful. They probably had parents who yelled at them and and beat them. I pity them, really. I found the moment so natural, beautiful, and refreshing, and the antidote to toxic masculinity. Gus has gained a LOT of fans!! Harris / Walz 2024

If you are ever lucky enough to have your adult (or soon to be adult child) emotionally overcome with how much they love you, you will never forget it. I am lucky enough, and watching Gus Walz's pure love and joy, took me right back to that moment with my son. I watched the Walz family with a smile on my face and tears in my eyes.

My father was so wrapped up in himself and his own need for attention, he barely knew I was alive. I can’t even imagine having such a relationship with my father that I would respond with the kind of love that Gus showed for his father, or that my father could have inspired the kind of love that Tim has inspired in his son. It shows what a wonderful human being Tim Walz is. Watching Gus’s response, I was thrilled for both of them. It filled me with love just watching such love.

I’m an 81-year-old woman, and at special times in my life I’ve seen the men in my life cry tears of love and pride for one another: between my father and my brother, my late first husband and our son, and even my late second husband and my son (his step-son). My son cried such heartfelt tears at his step-father’s funeral. These men were/are REAL men, whose strength and manhood lay in their hearts and minds and that creates empathy and love and humanity.
Real men feel deeply and aren’t afraid to show their love and admiration for one another. Tim Walz and his son love and respect each other immensely and aren’t afraid to express it for others to see. People who don’t have that in their lives are sad.
