P20i is a long range focused weapon light. P20iX is a wide beam search light. They look alike. Both are strobe ready. Both are excellent military/self defese devices. My preference is P20i. I want to see in particular. For the family P20iX. Switch it to combat mode, not to everyday mode. Read the instruction.
MJ, great comparison of the two flashlights. Thank you for your work showing how the lights perform out in the field. You are a natural salesman who has the logical answer, “buy both”🔦🔦 ⚪️🔘
Ideally one should have a flooder, a mixed beamer & a thrower. From self defense point of view the flooder is more effective as it has a wide angle of glare on the target. However at a medium distance, the mixed beam is better at glaring at an assailant while the thrower works at very large distances only - but if you can aim well. Have a flooder if you must have only one, then get a mixed beamer. Keep the thrower for the last unless you have a specialist purpose already.
I just ordered the p20ix as my first "real" flashlight and wasn't sure If I made the right decision buying a flooder. This confirms I have. Next purchase will be a mixed beam 100%
I had been trying to decide which light to purchase and wishing that I could somehow see a comparison. Well I just found it. I will purchase the P20iX because from what I just watched if the iX is on turbo it pushes the beam out almost to the same distance or close enough for me as the 1800 lumen non - X version. Thanks so much
Really excited about this new model, I am looking for a flood beam so this would be perfect. The instant strobe function is a great feature I love the dual tail switch design. I tried several side switch flashlights but tail switch works for me best. Also like the fact that there are so many brightness levels. The only drawback is the proprietary battery, but it's not a dealbreaker in this case considering all the pros. Looking forward to the detailed review, I would be interested how long does it stay on turbo before stepdown, and what lumen level does it step down to?
I had a dog charge me at 1am while looking for the meteor shower 2 days ago. I hit the 4k full blast and the dog stopped in its tracks and retreated. My adrenalin was through the roof, the flashlight worked perfectly. I made a report of the encounter. I had pepperspray and a knife on me, but only used the P10iX
My current favorite out of huge assortment of olight, nitecore, armytek, klarus lights I have is the SRT7GT for doing my 737 walk arounds. Most of my inspections are up close but also need to see the top of the tail. How do these 2 compare? I haven't researched anything new in the last couple years. Their specs fall short of the SRT7GT's 450m & 50900cd, but they have the lumens. Just not the intensity. Are either a worthy upgrade?
Been a nitecore fan long time. After quite a few flashlights owned, I am now in the market for a reliable EDC from nitecore. Something that would compete the lumintop tool AA. Cheers!
How long does P20ix run on 1750 before it goes down on 850 lumen? Can you compare them to M2R warrior olight? I have looked diffrence but i cant choose. Would help a lot to see you comparing between them. Thank you!
Is it that challenging to increase the candela using the cree XP-L2 V6 LEDs? A flood is nice.. but would've been a better product with a higher intensity. Think Fenix PD40r V2 measurables on the candela. My EDC is a P20i. The BEST tactical light on the market. Expected more from the P20i X but still a great option ✌🏽
learn what the unit means, candela is affected by the LED output AND the reflector design, flood beams inherently have a lower candela at the same lumen output, P20i has a larger reflector so at the same 1800 lumens it will have a higher cd vs the P20ix
How many minutes can it *continuously* operate on maxium "turbo" without it getting either exceedingly hot and/or damaging the LEDs/Reflector assembly?
I don't like proprietary hardware. It would be awesome if there was a light like this with the outer body of the MH25-S that just used a regular non-proprietary high-drain 21700 battery. An MH25-SX if you will. With a spring on both the positive and negative sides. USB type C 3amp QC too.
P20i got higher candella/focus beam, shine to the eyes that will distract more than the floodiest p20x light.. the floodiest light effects to the eyes at more than 15yard probably will be just same as you looking directly at car led headlamp, bright but the eyes still can withstand it.. and 4 xpl led on that small body, i doubt the max brightness of strobe will last for not more than 15second before it start dimming to control the heat so you will be leave with just 1750 lumen but far less candella than the 1800 lumen of the p20i which is not so effective as a self defense lights.
Depends on what do you mont it on. On a machine gun I would mount a flood light. On an AK a weapon light. On a bycicle a bike light. On a Glock a pistol light. On a knife no need. You have to be able to use it with closed eyes. Actually the placed machine gun needs no light only 2 sticks.
I think Nitecore should have gone with a 1 x Luminus SBT 90.2 instead of 4 x Cree XPL2. The SBT 90.2 is a 3 volt emitter with higher center lux. I think Nitecore could have achieved similar outputs with better runtimes with a single emitter and avoided the rose petal beam profile. I wonder when Nitecore will upgrade the MH23, that's one of my favorite lights from them.
Love this company . I've been saving money for months to get a group of different lights from this company. Unfortunately I lost my wallet and had my identity stolen and the whipped out my bank account. Now with no job I am without a light I can rely on. Now I have to fight to get my identity back and find a job then save back up to get one of these amazing lights.
Hi MJ! Good video! I hope nitecore would improve or make a latest version of my fav nitecore products. 1. MH12S that can tailstand 2. MT06MD but 2x AA batt 3. MH11 that is flood and metal tail switch. Cheers!
just hope nitecore invent on car headlight . i wish to get high quality LED light to replace my car headlight . i had try some china brand LED projector headlight . result are quite satisfy . if nitecore able to join this field , i would like to get 1 pair for my car.
car headlamp already had so many company that make it.. after try several brand i like novsight f06 most, its only $35 but far better than $150 phillips brands led.
This is what I was wanting for from Nitecore. A proper compact flooder with perfect modes spacing. They nailed it...
Same. I have the mh12gt. So I’ve been looking something more short distance and insanely bright. Can’t wait to get my hands on this.
@@Daniel-ld7xs Exactly. I have the MH12S, which is brilliant, but I always wanted a flooder from Nitecore in the same body size.
Hey MJ, I was wondering if you could compare all the 4K lumen flashlights such as: E4K, T4K, i4000r, and the the latest P20ix. That would be fun😁.
Will do!
I4000r is doing great with me. I love it 👌

But it won’t last as long on turbo, because of heat. Do note

For your specific use, the SRT7GT is good, no need to get either of these lights as their controls are meant for more tactical confrontational use.
Could we have a comparison between the i4000r and the P20iX?
They seem pretty similar but different.
Will touch on that on the official P20iX video

Does the rsw2i switch works with the p20ix ? Would be great für edc and a weaponlight.
Thanks! I was wondering about p10i & p10ix. Now im happy with non x version because it serves my purpose right
Hi want to know can I put NL2150HPI battery to my nitecore p20i for better time usage?
Do a full review of p20ix
Yes that’s coming up next
agreed

Can’t you focus the ix so it beams farther?
If portability is not an issue, Makita DML812 shots flood and bean AND combined flood + bean, 1000lumens plus in both at the cost of size
If you use the nitecore’s 5000mah i battery instead of the 4000mah i battery, would it just extend the length of the light?
That will affect runtime, yes.
can you make a comparison review of this model? MT1A, EA11, MH1A, MT10A? :)
I want to see full review of this light .when its coming ?
Should be up mid week.
Will you release something to take down Olight Odin Pro?
So, is the p20ix worth buying?
How many minutes can it *continuously* operate on maxium "turbo" without it getting either exceedingly hot and/or damaging the LEDs/Reflector assembly?
Couple of minutes at best, before stepping down.
Around 40 seconds, before it steps down to 850 lumens.

Why u not show strobe mod ?
I have one its a good flooder and has a beautiful tint
in turbo mode does the head and body get hot quickly? around how many seconds or minutes? before it step down.
I have one and I love it, it stays on turbo about 35 seconds before it goes down and it is very hot
Hi, what you recommend for self defense? Thanks
I'd recommend this. Strobe ready function and glass breaker bezel to give a potential attacker a second thought.

I think a flood light is more universal.

Can i order from India? If yes then tell me the procedure.
You can checkout via DHL, possible
Is there a coupon for on Amazon
Nope, only for nitecorelights.com
So flood light or mixed beam is better for law enforcement?

I thought P20ix is targeting a tactical style of light. So why is it a flooder?
Tactical has many use cases for a flood light as well. I’ll share more in the longer P20iX video

This is how you review beam patterns.
For my use case 94% it's the flood light
The flood beam is more self blinding in closed rooms.
Too white, make warm light
