In my opinion arcanum was and will be the best RPG I've played . No other game so far can compete with the sheer amount of details and lovely crafted charakters populateing this game.
I wonder why Tulla is situated on top of the Vendigroth ruins. I mean, it's as good as the most advanced magic society of Arcanum, built on top of practically a vault full of state-of-the-art machinery. Something must be at play.
That symbol puzzle took me forever to figure out! My friend bragged about being able to do it in minutes so I felt stupid. Then I found out he had a strategy guide (handicap), so I didn't feel so bad anymore.
I love Tulla. Beautiful city, beautiful music, and now the ultimate fixer-upper patch has been released, some awesome stuff with Geoffrey and Perriman.
Unfortunately that seems to have been the case with everything Troika developed. If just once the publishers hadn't rushed the game out, I bet Troika would have really shined and we might still have them today, making even more awesome games.
They were forced by scumback Sierra. Troika would have made this game much larger and fixed bugs, but Sierra didn't like how long developing this game took and wanted to push this fast to markets. That left them game incomplete and full of bugs.
If Teleportation didn't exists, tech would be a viable consideration. If you want to go tech, the in game time probably takes 20 years instead of a few months. Very annoying for magic is that you can't properly deal with traps, you just tank them and heal away. Also, in order to repair items, you need to keep the magick level lower for the appropriate shopkeepers to still service you. In other words, go with a party buffer mage, not harm mage.
I still play Arcanum...it's story is wonderful, it's world is enticing, it's music stirs my soul.
One of my favorite soundtracks from one of my all time favorite games.

After so many years I'm still listening this. One of the best soundtrack I've ever felt so much.
Mysterious city, deep music.Makes me think of old times of egypt and about things like that.Perfect soundtrack for town like this.
5 dislikes from tech aptitude gang

That's an extremely good point. I always though maybe after Arronax wiped it out, he founded the place as a message of the power of magic.
God damn Sierra! Forced released arcanum a whole year earlier than troika planned.

Always think of the Technologist at the city gates.
Yeah, The Vault Dweller, wearing Power Armor, return home after finding a water purification chip (Or The Gem of Water Purification)

Love this track. Shame Tulla is so late in the game.
This game was so good. But then you met Nasrudin, and devs were like, "OK, enough of that amazingness, let's end this quickly."

I miss Arcanum. :'(
You should try Multiverse Edition,it`s great.
@SolidSoldier07
10 quest where available, provided you where master of a school of magic. Every master would give you a ultimate quest
@Jettie12 Did you ever play Lionheart? Totally the same thing but they gave up after the first town. Still could have been an equally amazing game.

Yeah those damn monsters that broke gear pissed me off so bad I'd play redmage and disintegrate them while naked.
@Kerbobotat I wonder if the Tulla in that game has been inspired by the real-world Tulla...
Also an alpha version of the game was leaked. Which is never good for sales.

@aeopmusic Or you could have just learned lock picking and do the job in a minute without any guide :)
