  • Come along as I discuss why I need to make changes to my 2021 Harley-Davidson Sport Glide FLSB after riding 1543 miles in 4 days. Those 30 hours and 26 minutes of seat time have convinced me that I "NEED" to make these changes to the motorcycle before my next long trip. In this video I'll give you my insights and solutions... #motorcycles #motorcycleaccessories

Any bike with bags and windshield is a bike you can tour on. It amazes me that people need the latest most comfortable shit but then again I consider my Springer an adventure bike.

Rebel 1100 has bags and a windshield
I wouldn't take it to lunch much less on a 4 day ride

I’m 6’ 250 lbs and getting the taller mini apes and riser was a night and day difference. I was getting a lot of lower back pain after an hour or so of riding. Now I never even think about.
The stock seat had to go and I went with the saddleman you’re referring to with the back rest. Kind of mixed on my opinion of that. It is better than the stock seat though. 🤷‍♂️

I´ve got an Electra Glide (FLHS, similar to Road King) and a Sport Glide from 2019. On the Sport Glide I mounted a Memphis Shade Windshield, a King-Topcase, Floorboards from a Fat Boy and a Saddlemen Sat (with backrest). So I have a good comparison between these bikes as I ride both quite often. The old Electra Glide feels much heavier and less agile than the Sport Glide (although only 30 or 40 kg more). The chassis is not as good (maybe because she´s much older) and the maneuverability of the Sport Glide is much easier. Although I never felt like having problems to handle the old Electra there is a big difference between these bikes. Ok, when you ride long distances for many days the Electra seems to be still the better choice, but I think the Sport Glide will take over this purpose soon. In two weeks I take her for one week tour through the Alps. We´ll see if she can beat the Electra. :) And: you can dismount the windshield and the cases within a few minutes and have a pure good looking Softail cruiser.

Hi Todd I will be following but at 5’3 don’t believe I need to do all that for my bike, I recently been on a 1200 miles trip and wasn’t to bad

Colleague of mine had new bars and full exhaust done at the Stealership.
    Cost. $5,000
I'd imagine new bars and cable re routing will cost around $2,000+/-
And HD can't figure out why there is such an age gap for buyers.

I'm still looking at my options. Going to work with a local custom bike shop. I'll take it in at the end of my riding season.

Hi Todd, looking foeward to seeing how your bike turns out. I'm thinking of going for some 4" risers as just did recent 1.5k trip around Ireland and was getting some shoulder pain. Still rocking the stock seat after 17k miles...as it's comfy for me. :)

They can customize any size or shape you want
Fab and delivery take about 6+ weeks, but well worth the wait
