I planted sorghum years ago when I was farming. The year we planted was a drought year. What I was amazed at was the ground was ALWAYS damp.i would walk in the field at 2pm and my pants would get wet from the water hanging on the leaves. Basically with the heavy leaf cover it was a mini rain forest and that is why it works great in a drought year but the flip side is if it's a normal year with a good amount of rain at harvest time it can be a real pain because the ground is to soft. It would take 15 to 20 acres of good corn to fill our silo we only planted 6 acres of sorghum and completely filled our silo. You can't beat the yield
Glad you got some feed. We grow Japanese millet for the first time this year and are very happy with how well it did on such a dry year. Keep up the good work Randy!

Never seen a round bale picker upper like that. Very nice, wish I saw how you got them off. A timelapse of the wrapper would be cool as well, if you do more. I do love sorghum, grows well in any condition it seems.
I'm curious how you found the seeding rate on your end wheel drill. My drill doesnt have any rate gearing instead only how wide the holes set maybe I need a different drill. My lowest setting was far too high a rate.

I mixed it with oats, turnips, rye grass, and clover. I cut the rating as low as possible. The drill is an End wheel on steel.

How much rain did this get? And how much moisture in bales when baled
With a drought, I think we got around a inch total. The bales were 60% moisture. We did feed a few they were freezing.
