I came to the same conclusion a few months back. Thanks.

White LEDs are actually blue LEDs with varying formulations of phosphor on the lens which produces different color spectrums of light, which emit as white. The "blurple" (red+blue) grow lamps, which are actually multi-spectrum and not full spectrum, are falling from favor as growers get educated. High end LED grow lamps may have "veg" & "flower" modes which adds supplemental blue and red LEDs respectively. A lamp may also contain small quantities of infrared and ultraviolet (UV) LEDs which are particularly interesting to "medicinal" growers. A high end LED grow lamp may also note the use of a particular LED, and right now Samsung 301's are the most efficient. These Samsung LEDs can produce up to around 210 lumens per watt which equates to more photons, which is the proper measurement of light output for plant growth. These LEDs are best run at lower than their maximum ratings of current, as this raises the efficiency and extends the life.

Hi, I have a bay leaf plant and a purple light.
    Will that do?

Purple lights do the job! Full spectrum is better but both can grow plants to adults!

@@joshuarudd6297 Thank you for your reply.
I did a search now, and actually found out that full spectrum don't do well with plants,

Oh really? A lot of information out there is old and outdated. Full spectrum has only been available for a few years since LED technology has advanced. Our goal is to mimic the sun and the sun gives a full spectrum. You can never do “better than sunlight”

@@joshuarudd6297 Google - "Full Spectrum LED Grow Lights: The Truth You Need to Know" it's from April 2020 as I see.
I'm really new to all of this, I have a bay laurel plant, at first I didn't have any light or sun on it hence some of its leafs turned brown so I got the "Full Spectrum Phyto Lamps DC5V USB LED Grow Light with Timer" (from Aliexpress) it's purple, not sure about the full spectrum thing but I did read the reviews and all people seemed to have good things to say about it so...

My guy... THANK YOU. For one being practical and also leaving all content in a template format so (me) I can literally insert my grow into your platform and it actually HELP me move from a incredible green thumb (outdoor omnipotent ambrosia gardner) who now trying to move inside (now that the space is "mine" and I can have privacy as well as freedom to alter the area) except mother nature is stuck outside and I cant even get any young ladies to stay. Having raised a months worth of seeds to go from germinated to ocd sterile brain surgery scrub in session to handle the tap root and get her set in a medium... but with your answers to my real questions has helped me finally get five beans to stand tall and show beautiful first pair of serrated leaves.
I just wish I'd have had to honest answers about the "blurple" conspiracy lol. But I've not invested anything over $100.00 so far so in sitting in position to just throw the junk (2 4' T-8 led bulbs run in a shop light fixture, one "blurple brick" I snagged off "geek" for $20 [wich its actually run anything other than ambrosia like a boss] and a threaded fixture bulb thats full spectrum white that I dumb lucked as a return at menards for !$6.00!! [And the box was still factory sealed!] ((And it's a beefy 100w equivalent lamp)) but that's my veg room and I'll be saving to invest in a lamp that will be something like what you have in your manufactured tent to flower. I'm only supplying my own and one family members meds so please keep doing whatever your doing so I can not waste my time watching dudes pull off flowers I drool over while making it seem like it's no work involved and just acting as if they just slap it together and never mention what they have invested.

Appreciate the comment! Thanks for taking the time out to encourage! It’s always helpful. I grow all my plants indoors and have a blast. Good luck with your setup! You’ll have to show me sometime!
