After pollinating, pluck off all the white/red flower petals so you know it's been pollinated. Once the flowers start coming, it becomes hard to track which ones you've already done unless you pluck the flowers.
Glad I could help! If u have questions let me know. I make all my videos to be as helpful as possible. Sharing my passion of hydroponics is my priority.
Thank you so much for this video! My hydroponic Strawberries are growing flowers and I was wondering how to self and/or cross pollinate them, thank you!
Another tip would be to attach with tape a vibrating toothbrush (or anything that vibrates in a similar way) to the makeup brush. To simulate the wings of a bee.
advice here isnt the best. be gentler, it does matter, use a smaller brush, like a paint brush. they do pollinate better between multiple flowers, but across plants wont matter. at all.
I don't get bees where I'm from, never seen a bee in my yard, do have wasps tho. So I need to pollinate my cucumber and strawberries. I was wondering if I can use the same brush for pollinating the cucumber and strawberries flowers
Hi! Do you use just regular led shop lights or uv lights to grow strawberries indoors? Also, i thought they need to be overwintered. Do they keep producing thru all winter? Thanks
I'M NO EXPERT BUT I AM CURRENTLY GROWING 'EVERBEARING' STRAWBERRIES AND THEY WILL KEEP PRODUCING CONTINUOUSLY AS THEY DO OUTDOORS AS OPPOSED TO 'JUNE' BEARING STRAWBERRIES. I AM USING A GROW LIGHT 'LED' MYSELF AND IT IS WORKING SO FAR. GOT 2 BERRIES SO FAR.
Twice you've interchanged the words postal n stigma, please clarify according to your picture, you take the pollen from the anther and make sure to get it all over the STIGMA correct?
The round dome is the female part, it's what will turn into a berry. It needs to be pollinated with the pollen from the anthers surrounding it (or with the pollen from another flower's anthers).
Seems normal size. Wild Strawberries are often small. Selective breeding and modification has produced large berries but honestly they often lack flavor and texture. I grow my strawberries outside in soil topped with rocks, but want to try indoor as well.
the pollination would be infinitely better with with a brush with much less bristles. most people use soft paint brushes. and be gentler, it DOES matter. the tiniest damage to a seed site and you get a demented berry.
I've never heard of partially pollenated. Is that similar to almost pregnant? As soon as I replayed the video and heard it again I thought to myself. Bullship. Made this comment and got the heck outa here.
Yup. It happens. When cucumbers are miss shaped same situation. Have you ever opened a piece of sweet corn and it is missing a portion of kernels at the end? Those silks were not pollinated.
It's a response to viable seeds. If the fruits lack full pollination, less seeds are viable so the fruit shape/size favours the viable seed and doesn't bother storing resources around seeds that are duds. If most of the seeds are viable then the shape/size reflects that, you get a nice full fruit.

I have alpine strawberries and totally forgot this was a step that needed to be done. Thx for the knowledge
Thank you! Starting to grow things indoors all year long now and strawberries is the fruit we choose so thanks for this!
This channel is really cool! You have answered a lot of questions that a lot of larger channels won't go over

Wow, that'll take all day with that many strawberries. Joy of work, I guess. Thank you for the information.

Great help! Thanks very much! Good gardening 😊
I have never seen the red/purple color of strawberry flowers. I have only seen white strawberry flowers

Are these a different type of strawberry? I've never seen pink flowers on them
I've found it necessary to manually pollinate most things I grow these days, even outside. There's not enough bees in my area anymore.
super interesting video. Thanks!

Very educational, thank you for the video!

Would it hurt to move my inside plants outside for a bit to see if bees will help me pollinate??

Interesting video. Thank you.
Very helpful. Subbed. Thanks!
What kind of strawberries I need to buy that I will not have to pollinate them please?
I'M NO EXPERT BUT I DON'T THINK THERE ARE STRAWBERRIES THAT DON'T NEED POLLINATION
I've noticed you're strawberrys were quite small , I'm having the same issue, have you any tips how to increase size

Great video Thank You!
Thank you!
So each flower you pollinate is just one berry?
That's correct
Very informative! Thanks!!
Your welcome! Glad I could help.
Keep up the great work I hope no I know your subscribers will grow
I hope so too
cool
ARE THOSE BERRIES 'EVERLASTING' OR JUNE BERRIES. DOES IT MATTER, I ASSUME NOT
I never seen a flower with red pedals...., always white
I was thinking maybe just catch a few bees and turn them loose on my strawberries. J/K 😂

I USE A Q-TIP TO POLLINATE MYSELF

Do you know how blueberry yields work?
