- Filmed on 03/09/2020. Time for what is a popular trainspotting hub for most train enthusiasts, York. (Season 7 Episode 13). For the first time since my trainspotting hobby started, we actually film at York on a weekday rather than a weekend.
With recent news that most train services are almost resuming a full timetable running, this was the last chance to see trains running at a unusal timetable during covid19.
Compared to 2019, the HST's from LNER are now withdrawn with most begining a brand new future with East Midlands Railway which are replacing the VP185 HST sets. 225 sets are also getting withdrawn from service with some still in service with a life extention until 2022. Transpennine Express Nova fleet continues to expland with Nova 1's running the Liverpool to Newcastle services witch will soon extend back to Edinburgh.
West Coast Railways was providing most of the action with their weekly and popular running of The Scarborough Spa Express with LMS Jubilee no. 45562 working 1Z24 Carnforth to Scarborough. 47804 bought the train down from Carnforth where Alberta takes over.
During a 3 session, this is the variety that was seen:
West Coast Railways Class 47
LMS Jubilee No. 45562 'Alberta'
Direct Rail Services Class 37
London NorthernEastern Railway 225
London NorthernEastern Railway Class 800/801 Azuma
Transpennine Express Class 185
Transpennine Express Class Class 802 Nova 1
Transpennine Express Class 68 & MK5 sets
Grand Central Trains Class 180 Adelante
Northern Trains Limited Class 155
Northern Trains Limited Class 170 Turbostar
Northern Trains Limited Class 195 CAF
Cross Country Trains Class 220 Voyager
Cross Country Trains Class 221 Super Voyager

Excellently made video, thanks! I really like that you display each train's details/destination/schedule. Almost no-one else does that.
@Authur Boston Thanks very much, very happy to hear you have enjoyed it. Yep, just an add of captures and info then the train information is in the video.
Fantastic video. Amazing variety of trains
Thank you John :-)
Nice to see a film from York. Great Video as always

Thank you Jack, Happy to hear you've enjoyed it. York is missing you :-)
Great video Ricky! I just love those azumas. As always you have a really good variety of trains either passing through and stopping. Keep up the good work as we really appreciate your videos 📹 👍
Thank you very much Kay for your comments. Really do appreciate on what your saying :-)
Excellent video my friend ✌😉
Thank you Walter :-)
Great vid
Thank you Samuel :-)
Love the 91
Likewise, I do as well. It is a shame they don't operate beyond York onwards to Edinburgh but they are quite popular on the London Kings Cross to Leeds services. There are a few daily 225 set workings which do London Kings Cross to York.
@@RickyNowis yeah, I live in Co. Durham so an extension of services would be nice.
@@theowatchnerd Well who knows? The LNER 225 sets are being repainted into Intercity Swallow livery for now but we are not sure what will happen.
@@RickyNowis Hopefully Edinburugh- Kings X if LNER wishes.
Hmm, a place I've been wanting to go back to again, doubt I will this year though
There is always time and a chance to do so. Probably best at Christmas as 'The White Rose' Christmas spcialas run all the way through to Christmas.
They run with 2 different steamers so might be worth a look then.
@@RickyNowis the thing is covid, I'm going to stop spotting this year late October at the latest
@@srgntsylveon2919 Yeah, the way things are going is crazy at the monent.
Can't beat York
Very true, York can be full of unexpected :-)
@@RickyNowis it has steam trains at York station and Freight trains too.
A nice day you had at York station earlier you mentioned that 37 was 714 it’s 37716 but a great video
It was an epic day. Thanks for pointing it out, noticed that when I watched it back. Thanks :-)
Morning Ricky I was wondering if you can head into Hebden Bridge and do a bit of trainspotting there, it's a beautiful station also try do Halifax too.
Morning to you. To be honest, leaving West Yorkshire outings at the moment due to covid19 and cases raising. Will do it once covid is gone.
