Amazing work. Just got some advice: You can readjust the cannons by standing by the side of them. Always eat before going on a mission. It can give you more health and stamina
I thought I'd give some answers to things you ask "What's an Elder Dragon": It's not age. Elder Dragon is a classification of Monster which basically means "Unexplainable" in lore terms. Basically creatures which cannot be controlled and hold immense power, and attributes which cannot be fully understood. (An example would be "Anjanath" can breath fire because he has a flame sac, and the fins on his back help regulate the internal heat, hence why his fins flair before he can breath fire, where as nergigante... how does he heal so quickly? How do his spikes constantly grow? Elder Dragon...all we got) Elder Dragons every existence in an area can also bring extreme trouble. They can be considered walking calamities. A simple example would one called "Kushala Daora" who is a Metal Dragon who controls wind. Using wind to fly and can casually cause Hurricanes and storms in an area. If it migrates to your town, said town could be destroyed by hurricans, tornados, torrental winds etc. In the lore, only a very VERY exclusive few have ever been able to best a Elder Dragon. (However we're the protags of these games. We beat Elder Dragons for breakfest in the late game. The games thankfully admit that we must be legendary hunters to be able to do so). In Monster Hunter World, you have traveled to "the New World" an unexplored area where Elder Dragons are said to Migrate to. Making it very dangerous...but who could resist the mystery! (ahem..spoilers. MH games have some great lore....but usually pretty bad stories... heh. We love em all the same)
@@TheAdarkerglow Mechanically yes. Though I dont like bringing up Elderseal from world. It's a bit of a shaky topic as it has no lore relavence and doesnt exist outside of world at all. and technically only existed Because Chameleos didn't make the cut into World. ElderSeal replaced the long standing weaknesses elder dragons had. Like...not in addition too....but flat out replaced. and that has never repeated since since. Ex: Elderseal turns off Kushala Daora's wind barrior. Well... every game before and after World, poison did that. Kushala is suppose to be weak to poison. That's how the trio always worked. Kushala Daora, Chameleos, and Teostra. They show up together and all contain the others weaknesses Long story short, i dont really talk about elderseal. it existed mechanically, but it has no lore, or explanation for it. I could go on and on about a lot of World's flaws, but than someone gonna accuse me of not spending over 1000 hours on it and loving every minute.
If I remember correctly, an elder dragon always has 4 legs on top of a pair of wings. For example rathlos only has a pair of wings and a pair of legs, but nergigante has 2 pairs of legs and a pair of wings.
There's actually a line after the Teostra fight. Apparently, I think the Huntsman may or may not imply that Handler's Grandfather to have been a Player Character. Earnestly, that's impressive and I gained a new degree of respect for Handler after.
so for anyone curious Elder Dragons are just monsters that are very powerful, or have completely unnatural unexplained abilities. ppl just throw different monsters into the category whenever they come across something wierd. So for example, Tobi Kadachi is just a thunder monster because he has organs to store and produce electricity alongside his conductive fur, there is a degree of logic to it. An Elder Dragon meanwhile would be a monster that calls down lightning despite having NO perceivable explanation AT ALL. So yeah, if it's powerful and wierd, they're usually Elder Dragons. Except for Akantor and Ukanlos, those are two flying wyverns due to phylogenetic trees.
You just popped up in my recommended videos and I think I'll be sticking around - very entertaining to watch new player playing an all time favourite. Eat something before a Quest to become a great hunter 💪
I’m so glad this video got recommended, love seeing a new player go through all these experiences that so many of us hunters hold near and dear. Enjoy your time with it, I’m definitely sticking around to see you become a veteran.
To my understanding, the barrier existed more to inconvenience Zorah and as a platform for siege equipment than it is to stop him. That's what cannons and ballistas are for. Not to mention, the barrier is high enough, that it forces Zorah to stand up either way in order to break it, given he hardly has any speed whilst crawling.
Whether its you or someone you know that's making them, I have to say I absolutely love the little doodles of the monsters in the thumbnails. Definitely makes your video thumbnails stand out and look unique!
Also goofy sound effects are always a hit or miss bc a lot of people do them too much or it feels too much like "hahaha isnt this so funny and meme-y" but I absolutely love the incorporation of yours lol, they're perfect, especially with your style of editing
0:35 There’s a couple of separate qualifiers for Elder Dragons! First is: the Elder Dragon body archetype of four legs and two wings. This is the easiest classification for an ED you can get. These are invariably powerful beings, and their presence is like the looming power of a natural disaster. The second qualification is that they simply defy explanation- science seems to hold little bearing on how they behave, how they harness the elements, or how their bodies function. This includes size: some Elder Dragon species can grow large enough to coil around mountains, or so gigantic that it takes a fleet of sandships merely to restrain one for a few seconds. It’s an incredibly varied category, and full of curiosities.
I always enjoy watching people learn and enjoy any games in the monster hunter series. I will be sticking around, and can't wait to see you evolve into a great hunter!
Bro, please eat food so that you get higher health and stamina bars. Collect monster tracks so that your scoutflies track it, or you can open the map and manually choose what you want to track.
You'd spend a lot less time wandering around to find monsters if you watch the scoutflies to find traps. It's been fun watching you experience the game. Keep going! And just wait till you reach high rank...
loving this playthrough so far, always a good time seeing new hunters grow, overcome their first wall monsters and progress in their first game of the series. elder dragons have 3 main characteristics, each usually following at least 2 of them, 1 doesn't fit in any established monster type, 2 power akin to a natural disaster such as a volcano turtle, and 3 the power it has can't be explained by the knowledge in the world so it's almost like magic. zorah being captured as a plan was always memed because even the smallest elders can't be captured. hostile wingdrakes helping you guard point the roar lmao this is great.
I remember how clueless I was when I first play this game and decide to meld my only attack jewel because idk what I'm doing.🤣 and now I'm received both miniature and Large Gold Crown for all Monster after year of playing.
5:15 That's what it feels like when you're playing on line and three sexy senpai with endgame gear come to rescue and kill that monster for you in no time.🥰 8:32 Bruh, that's her nest, that's why.😝
World is my first MH game but i do a bit research before playing so when the game threw Nergigante right front my face in that mission i'm literally freezing man 🤣
You earned my subscribe. Very entertaining videos! Make sure to pick up tracks after monsters. It says "???" before you picked enough of them, and once you have the monster will be on your map and the scoutflies will lead you to them in future hunts. Making it faster reaching your target. It's also a good idea to pick up everything you run past. Bones, rocks, honey, flowers. You will most likely use it at some point in the future for armor or crafting. 100 is never enough! XD
As a fairly seasoned Veteran of MH allow to give you the best advice I can give....Don't give up. Some days your wailing on monsters and feeling on top of the world, other days you are getting your ass handed to you by a damn dirty ape who does not know the meaning of "No Touchie!!" You will hit a wall and it starts to look impossible.... but then, just as you think all is lost you think "Oh he is about to do this" and you dodge him. Then it all starts to click, you know his moves, you know how he fights and now your the one doing the ass whooping. So enjoy the journey, because as someone once said: "You only experience your first MH game ONCE and that feeling won't happen again"
Ah yes you have now learned of the annoying elder known as Zorah Magdoros. Honestly I can't wait for you to fight Nergigante 2 to 4 more times depending on if you decide to by the Iceborne DLC
Elder Dragons: Just a classification of monster that is stronger than normal monsters. Doesn't have to be literal dragons, as there is a monster coming up that is classified as an Elder Dragon, but is clearly not a dragon. Yeah, that Zorah fight is...confusing. It's mostly scripted, so lots of speedrunners just try to hit all the break points as quickly as they can to get through it because it's a scripted outcome. It's like an introduction to the Siege mechanic, and you'll see why the community feels the way it does about the fight later when you fight Zorah for real. As others mentioned, definitely eat before a hunt. It's free 50 HP if you eat Chef's choice, since Chef's Choice uses "fresh ingredients." You can eat a custom meal without fresh ingredients, but you're less likely to get the full amount of HP and skills. Still, your starting health is 50 HP, so eating food effectively doubles your health to 100 HP. You can increase it to 200 HP through the Health Boost skill, but I would argue you don't really need to worry about it too much in Low Rank. Keep it up! Love watching the new player experience!
Getting lost in coral highland the first time you got there Congratulations on completing that rite of passage (Spoiler alert) There’s way more layers of explorable area than i will ever bother to remember
Also try eating before hunts it gives you buffs and useful skills. You get a bonus to health and stamina for using fresh ingredients and the type of dish you eat determines what buffs and skills you get
to answer your question, what counts as an elder dragon, think of a monster, but like REALLY strong.... aside from a few monsters that can 100% kill an elder dragon but arent an elder... and some elder dragons are babies? and uh-.....i dont know man...
Ya, no one really likes Zorah. He's pretty boring imo cuz unlike other siege monsters throughout the series, he doesn't go based off HP values, he has to actually walk to certain points to trigger event flags like Nergigante showing up, which makes his fight *incredibly* slow compared to others
Ah yes. The confusion of running around the map looking for the zone that triggers the cutscene 😂
Good times.
and somehow ending up at the highest point of the map like it's honestly an impressive fumble
that and getting lost on zora's back triggered some good memories for me
In today's episode of... Local Canadian's Tree obliterate Japanese Godzilla
