  • In this video, I fished for Mangrove Snappers in Fort Desoto Park, pre-hurricane Debby. There are a variety of fish ranging from Speckled Trout, Ladyfish, Flounder, Bluefish, Sheepshead, Jack Crevelle, Spanish Mackerel, and the highly sought after Florida Pompano can be caught here. The bait I used in this video is the Mojarra, excellent bait for Mangrove Snappers. I also shared some tips to help you catch more Mangrove Snappers!

Great informational video thanks for sharing. Been back in Lakeland for a couple weeks now. Did end up with a few nice snappers to bring home. The heat took its toll on me this year, but I didn’t give up and it paid off.
    Thanks for sharing.

I'm glad to hear it paid off for you. And yes, the heat has been relentless lately. Heat stroke is no joke. Stay hydrated and stay safe. Thanks for watching! 👍

Great video wanted to ask you. Where were you catching them Maharas. I've been looking haven't been able to find any.

They are usually on sandy bottoms, like the beach areas. They blend in really well. You'll need a pair of polarized sunglasses to see them.

Yes, I change the weight according to the tide. I believe it was 1/2oz in this video.

Where do you usually go to find your mojarra?

I usually find them on the beaches close to where I fish. A good place to look for them is in sandy bottom, where people launch their kayaks. These were caught at the place next to where people launched their kayaks in fort desoto area.
