Purchased some of these after I had my AMG wheels refurbished and painted gloss black, caught the curb last week and there is not a mark on my wheel. Removed the protector with a little heat, purchased a second full set so I have some spares, good to go again. Was very dubious how protective they would be, but they did their job 100% 👌🏻

How well does the adhesive hold up from weather and heat? It gets very hot where I live and I'm concerned about the strips falling off or fading over time.
It does not get too hot here in England occasionally 30 odd degrees but mine were as good after 3 years as when I fitted them I thoroughly recommend them for what they cost they give real peace of mind.
Hi David. Our kits include the 3M adhesion promoter as standard. Did you buy a genuine product or a Chinese copy that often don't come with it as its too expensive and they just then fall off? We sell the primer packs here: rimblades.com/collections/rimblades-spare-shop/products/primer-pack
They can get damaged by tyre fitters so best practice is to change them at this time, but we sell single wheel kits and a special cleaner to remove the old tape really quickly. Balance weight need to be the stick on type rather than older hammer on type.
These use a 3M VHB double side tape & 3M adhesion promoter so super glue not required, but we do include an extra glue if you buy the kit option with the joint cap cover.
Ive bought these after scuffing one of my alloys slightly while driving my new car home after picking it up last week 😢 went too close to a curb. The alloys are so beautiful too . Things happen i guess so i searched to see what i could get to protect them and i was originally going to get an alloy repair kit but a guy suggested it would be easier getting these so ive bought these after reading the feedback from other buyers. This video was short and to the point and i feel confident i can do this . I stuck with black as i wont be able to see them anyway 😅. My cars going to need washed . Im aware putting these on a dry day is the way to go . Am i ok to wash my car first but not put any product on my alloys or am i bedt to put rims on and wash car in day or 2 afterwards? X
Wash & dry wheels first. If tyre shine present remove this then use wipes in kit. If you contact me direct I'll send you a sheet with detailed instructions.
They are 7mm wide. Alot of customers buy black to cover the polished lip on the AMG wheels. If you have the newer AMG wheels though with a rounded off top edge you need our Rimblades Original version.
Yes they can. The rim surface needs to be dry & contaminant free though. We suggest a hot air gun (or hairdryer) to ensure surface is free of moisture.

hey I have a question, I heard that you have to use a blow dryer to get the tape to like 70-80 degrees celsius, and I'm just wondering when do you blow dry it, when you put the strip on or before you put the strip on?
Yes if properly fitted no issues. However if it is the type with guard rails and you hit the guard rails likewise with a kerb they may need to be replaced.
@@CR7Update We suggest that is best practice in case the tire fitter accidentally breaks the 3M bond causing a later highway failure. We do our own cleaner to get the old adhesive off easily, so it's a quick and straightforward job.
