The vast differences between the two moms shows at the very end, when reading the letters. One mom lives a miserable existence, only worried about looks and glamour. The other mom lives a happy, fulfilling life. Though far from perfect, her family and friends reflect her brilliance. Moral of the story? All the money in the world can't buy you happiness/class/morality/etc.

Those 2 "country" kids, are the sweetest, most polite children I've ever seen! I worked in childcare for 10 years, and I never seen children this well behaved, and polite! Ben is absolute angel and I don't blame him one bit for missing his mother. I also liked the way his dad comforted him when he started crying, he wasn't overbearing or anything. He was so nice about it, I loved it.

Chrystal's son .... when that little boy put his precious toy in his mum's suitcase - I lost it and bawled my eyes out! To have instilled such love into that child - for him to have made that (to him) HUGE sacrifice ... that is incredible parenting. I loved that family - all of them. And I loved Colleens husband too. She needs to stop spending so much money and contribute to the household - taking some of the financial strain off the husbands shoulders

Let me start off by saying, I'm not someone that would usually write a long response on something like this. However, this episode really touched me. It just goes to show you that family truly is what life is all about. At the same time showing you how some people can't see the forest for the trees. Out of these two families, I would have to say that Crystal is a much richer woman in so many ways, than Colleen could ever even aspire to be. Crystal knows the value of love and family. She lives a happy, yet simple life, in a beautiful homemade home that was built with love. While Colleen, whose trying to live the high life, doesn't even see that she is running Ronnie into the ground. Her children seemed to thrive on the discipline that Crystal tried to instill in them, once they realized that they didn't have to be bratty to get attention. Colleen is so clueless to ALL of this. I believe that Crystal went home having learned what she already knew, that spending true quality time with your family IS 'the best it's ever going to get'. I can only hope that maybe, just maybe, after Colleen watches herself on this episode, she sees what a shallow, clueless, and self centered person that she is. She's teaching her kids nothing. Too be jealous because her family enjoyed Crystal ? REALLY? She doesn't realize how hard Ronnie works to keep the cash flowing so she can live a life style that SHE values so much. Bless Nikki's heart for being so polite when Colleen thought she was pretty much, doing the her a favor. Oh please! Colleen was so focused on HER way of thinking that Nikki wanted to look. Colleen couldn't even see the obvious look on Nikki's face.I feel bad for that poor girl having to put up with this woman at homecoming or whatever. No neighbours or kids they can just go out to play with. Where as her kids have eachother and have more out going personalities

I really enjoyed this episode. I love both families. Both husbands are amazing. I really feel for Ronnie working so hard to be the bread winner for such a large family and a wife who thinks money grows on trees. I hope she learned the value of family over the value of stuff. I loved Ronnies infectious smile and great love for his wife and family and his observation that ladies like flowers. At least a welcome home bouquet. Chrystal is such a blessing. Chrystal doesn't need a prayer room and a wall full of crosses to shine Christ's love to everyone around her. I loved the song that Dave wrote. I think both ladies did a good job in the distribution of the money. My compliments to the planners and producers of this episode.
In order for Ronnie to have a new appreciation for you you need to give him something to appreciate. I mean come on the man Works countless hours provide the life that you want. The least you can do is be a decent wife and mother

And I still would of loved going to Tennessee their house while not a fan of the taxidermy is beautiful because they built it and that’s amazing. I have a family of 5 (including 2 teenage sons) and I feed us for $150 per week. That includes toiletries, dog food, cleaning supplies, etc. I cook almost everything at home and plan menus so that we don’t waste food

Out of all the moms who've ever been on this show and Wife Swap, Crystal is one of my two favourites. Both make me think of my mom (RIP), and Crystal is so much like my own mom in so many ways. She's such a warm, caring person who enriches every life she touches. Her family is truly blessed to have her as their matriarch, and Ray and his children were so blessed to have her with them for a week. I hope they changed for the better after her time with them.

Here is an explanation to help you understand the log house the live in. You had your very hot kitchen separated from your sleeping room, and an outdoor living area (summertime) in the breezeway, a factor that actually channels a breeze through that area (hence the name) keeping flies and mosquitoes away. You'd eat and sit in the covered, hence shaded, breezeway in the summer. In the winter, you'd do your living in the heated kitchen area and the breezeway would be utilized by storing firewood, keeping it dry and handy during winter ice storms. You'd also hang your meat there, where the freezing cold would keep it fresh. (You butcher your hog very late in the autumn and have fresh meat during the winter and salted meat during the summer) You'd still be sleeping in the other building, which would be warmed by your combined body heat and blankets and sharing beds. Some of those log houses would also have a small fireplace in the sleeping quarter end, but not all of them. Do an image search for Dog Trot cabin and also Saddlebag cabin to see how they looked. The vast differences between the two moms shows at the very end, when reading the letters. One mom lives a miserable existence, only worried about looks and glamour. The other mom lives a happy, fulfilling life. Though far from perfect, her family and friends reflect her brilliance.

I'd love to feel shocked, but I just can't.
Let me start off by saying, I'm not someone that would usually write a long response on something like this. However, this episode really touched me. It just goes to show you that family truly is what life is all about. At the same time showing you how some people can't see the forest for the trees. Out of these two families, I would have to say that Crystal is a much richer woman in so many ways, than Colleen could ever even aspire to be. Crystal knows the value of love and family. She lives a happy, yet simple life, in a beautiful homemade home that was built with love. While Colleen, whose trying to live the high life, doesn't even see that she is running Ronnie into the ground. Her children seemed to thrive on the discipline that Crystal tried to instill in them, once they realized that they didn't have to be bratty to get attention. Colleen is so clueless to ALL of this. I believe that Crystal went home having learned what she already knew, that spending true quality time with your family IS 'the best it's ever going to get'. I can only hope that maybe, just maybe, after Colleen watches herself on this episode, she sees what a shallow, clueless, and self centered person that she is. She's teaching her kids nothing. Too be jealous because her family enjoyed Crystal ? REALLY? She doesn't realize how hard Ronnie works to keep the cash flowing so she can live a life style that SHE values so much. Bless Nikki's heart for being so polite when Colleen thought she was pretty much, doing the her a favor. Oh please! Colleen was so focused on HER way of thinking that Nikki wanted to look. Colleen couldn't even see the obvious look on Nikki's face.I feel bad for that poor girl having to put up with this woman at homecoming or whatever. Maybe when Ronnie watches this, he'll see it's time to make some changes and take charge of a few more things. To 'put his foot down', as Crystal had said.He works and worries too hard for the little bit of time that he gets to enjoy with his family. I loved Ronnies infectious smile and great love for his wife and family and his observation that ladies like flowers. At least a welcome home bouquet.

Out of all the moms who've ever been on this show and Wife Swap, Crystal is one of my two favourites. Both make me think of my mom (RIP), and Crystal is so much like my own mom in so many ways. She's such a warm, caring person who enriches every life she touches. Her family is truly blessed to have her as their matriarch, and Ray and his children were so blessed to have her with them for a week. I hope they changed for the better after her time with them.

@N MM see I didn't feel that when watching. I felt like she's very self centered and self absorbed and the so called "nice things" she does are only to bring attention to herself. She was so rude to the son and overly attentive to the daughter but then she was all bent out of shape when they didn't tell her she was the best and how great it was to have her there.
I mean look at how she acted with her own family when she got home. She got so upset and so jealous that they couldn't even tell her the truth about what they had gotten out of it. That's pretty pathetic. She also had to disparage the quilt they were so proud to have made her because Cindy taught them to do it. Colleen had down talk it and then try to make herself better because she does this this and this with her kids and doesn't have time to sit around doing that. She really made herself look small, ugly and petty. You can tell she's horribly insecure by how important appearance is to her. She doesn't even care if her husband is working himself to death as long as she has what she wants. She needs help.

Her heart was all about herself. She epitomizes what is so damn wrong with Kalifornistan. The west coast believes they are the envy of other states and they couldn't be more wrong. She pushed that girl into her "superficial vanity" world and the girl 100% rejected it. She was not deprived, not ignorant and not poor and could choose a self centered vanity driven existence if she wanted but instead she was down to earth, not interested in fake people and was happy with herself!
I kinda feel the same because she did try with the daughter. She kept telling her she’s pretty and instilling that in her but the daughter wasn’t a girly girly type so they couldn’t really relate to each other. With another little girl, it may have gone great.

I could be wrong but I don't think it's the Jones. It's his wife's expectations PLUS the fact he built that business from the ground up and is in danger of losing it all the time and doesn't want to lose what he built but he needs to reassess when he can't get any enjoyment of anything else or even his wife.
They were going to lose the house, hence needing the 50k. The dad spent a lot of time outside smoking and on the phone trying to save his business.

Here is an explanation to help you understand the log house the live in.
You had your very hot kitchen separated from your sleeping room, and an outdoor living area (summertime) in the breezeway, a factor that actually channels a breeze through that area (hence the name) keeping flies and mosquitoes away. You'd eat and sit in the covered, hence shaded, breezeway in the summer. In the winter, you'd do your living in the heated kitchen area and the breezeway would be utilized by storing firewood, keeping it dry and handy during winter ice storms. You'd also hang your meat there, where the freezing cold would keep it fresh. (You butcher your hog very late in the autumn and have fresh meat during the winter and salted meat during the summer)
You'd still be sleeping in the other building, which would be warmed by your combined body heat and blankets and sharing beds. Some of those log houses would also have a small fireplace in the sleeping quarter end, but not all of them.
