Literally never commented on a TH-cam video before, but I have to get this out. Sending Hulk back 100% not a plot hole. Heimdall wasn’t doing it to save someone. Sending Thor or Loki would have been a plot hole. He sent Hulk back to warn the Avengers to protect the stones on Earth. He knew the Avengers would trust Banner, unlike Loki, who they would most likely try to kill on sight. And come on man, he’s not going to separate the King of Asgard from his people as they are being slaughtered! Hulk makes more sense the anyone else. The plot hole, if there has to be one, is why didn’t Heimdall blast Thanos onto some barren rock on the edges of the galaxy with little hope of escape? But that would have been a super boring movie. . . Ok. I feel better now.
Even if Heimdall sent Thanos somewhere else with his last dark magic the black order would've just kill Heimdall and then use the space stone to bring Thanos back, so no, not a plot hole
@@thelonecyborg3555 Impossible, as the Black Order is not capable of using the power of the infinity stones. If Heimdall did that, they could kill Heimdall but Thanos would still be a goner. You don't listen, do you

The Dark Energy from Asgard is the source of Heimdall's powers.
Not true since Heimdall himself isn't an Asgardian. He already had those powers and abilities it is just more amplified while being on Asgard. But on his own he possesses those abilities that's why Odin personally offered him the position as protector of Asgard . Heimdall was nerfed a bit in the movies but in comics he is very powerful that even if there is a war going on in Asgard sometimes he doesn't get involved the situation has to be extremely severe in order for him to get involved.

I'm pretty sure that Heimdall would know that Dr. Strange would be the best person on earth to send Banner to despite his title as an Avenger, simply because Strange is the only one who'd have any remote idea as to what's going on in the cosmos. If you couple that with what is being said about the Dark Magic, Hulk would be the only chance of getting a message to earth in the time necessary to plan for Thanos.

Oh thank the gods. Finally some TH-cam video who gets the Ragnarok scene i.e. it's due to Heimdall's extrasensory powers and not some convoluted psychic link.
I am pretty sure Heimdall chose to save the Outsider cause it's the most honorable thing to do. Loki and Thor are both Asgardians while Banner/Hulk is an earthling. So, basically, he wasn't part of them and had no responsability fighting for them even though he did so anyway.
Wait, it makes no sense that thanos took them by surprise? Are you kidding me? He was holding an infinity stone, and had a sorcerer with him who makes other's abilities inconsequential... ;) think it through.
Heimdall might not have been in possession of the soul stone, but his life was definitely influenced by it. His eyes are the same color as the soul stone, and he has the ability to see "all the souls in the universe"
At the time, the only people we see left alive on the ship are Heimdall, Loki, Thor, and Hulk. Heimdall likely knew that sending Loki to earth wouldn't be the best idea given his history there. We even see him question this at the end of Ragnarok, and Thor assures him it would be fine. Heimdall also likely knew that Thor would want to die giving everything he had in the fight against Thanos. Even if it were one more punch. He wouldn't want to have been whisked away from the fight. He wouldn't ever get over it. So, with that said, he chose to send Hulk back. Someone who knows the Avengers well. Someone who can get the message to the proper people in time. Someone who's actually human and knows that the Avengers can trust and believe him. Could you imagine Tony's reaction if Thor came to Earth and said "Yeah, so.. I was fighting this big purple guy named Thanos.. He has some infinity stones that are super powerful. I wasn't winning the fight because he's just THAT POWERFUL.. So I came here.. He's coming here too.. Surprise!" Tony would be like "Get your Alien ass off my planet and take your Alien ass threats with you."
You’re made up dialogue between Thor and tony is literally no different than what banner had to say lol. If anything Thor is more knowledgeable and can more greatly explain the threat of thanos. Besides I think Dr strange had all the info anyways but regardless Thor is more knowledgeable i would think.
If he can see through time and space, maybe he saw different outcomes like Dr. Strange had done later in the movie. Letting Thanos take the stone and sending Hulk away could have been key to setting everything in motion.
I think Heimdall was at least touched by the influence of the soul stone. It’s really the only thing that makes any sense of his ability to see and hear all of the souls in the nine realms. Doubtful that he is in possession of the stone in the movies, though, just that he was at one point gifted some of its power.
If Wanda can be influenced by The Mind Stone, Heimdall definitely can be by the The Soul Stone. I personally havent read the comics to know for sure but yea lol
Ragna Hammer, Gary Heimdahl, and Thorland Berg were neighbors of mine in western Minnesota. There was a Loken family which might have been related to Loki. Much Norse Royalty surrounding my youth. All these people lived within 4 miles of my home. It is a good rule to never underestimate Heimdahl.
Heimdall know that sending Thor to earth meant he would not be able to get to the forge. Nobody wanted Loki on earth. He knew the strength of hulk could survive that trip to warn earth.
if he sent thor to earth he would have never been able to get storm breaker. sending the banner back to earth helped the avengers slow down thanos's army. and lastly they never said that they didn't see the ship coming and there was a distress signal sent which was probably sent just after he saw the ship coming
I don't think Heimdall and Loki are dead. I think that when Surtur destroyed Asgard, Hela was sent back to Hel. I also think Heimdall and Loki went to Hel when they died. I'm hoping that in End Game, Hela, Heimdall, and Loki leave Hel to help the Avengers. Hoping my theory is true... I want Loki back!!!!
@@thethunderant9208 Let me have my delusions! LOL seriously though, if they did go to Valhalla, maybe they could find a way out.... perhaps a back door via the quantum realm?
An army of hel lead by Hela would be awesome. But don't forget she was Thanos girlfriend in comics for a while, even she tried get married with mad titan. It will be great that Thanos got a new friend.
Also he infinity stones have a homing beacon with each other. Maw went straight to the time stone, proximal went straight to the mind stone when Tony did not know, then the outriders all came to wakanda ‘“hidden” wakanda again to the mind stone.?? Thoughts
Hulk is a tank that could survive such a journey, as Heimdall didn't have the energy or time to safely direct anyone to a destination. Also, Bruce is a genius that would know what to do to organize a plan and get everyone on board. Hulk was worn out from the fight with Thanos and traumatized by the fact that he got tossed around like nothing, and once he completed the rough journey to earth and entered relative safety he exhaustedly let go which allowed bruce to take over. Also if Heimdall sent Loki to earth then he would have brought on an onslaught that earth wouldn't have been ready for, one in which Thanos himself and all of his pieces attacked (potentially). It is also possible and likely that Heimdall saw the outcome of Thor surviving the attack and venturing by some means to have a new weapon forged, which was the only way to defeat thanos should he have a completed infinity gauntlet. The space stone was either lost to thanos in that moment or lost when Thanos took earth by a surprise and stole it along with the time and mind stones and along with crushing the home of what would be the last stand against Thanos. If the space stone went to earth that might have made the difference between Thanos trusting his minions to retrieve them and seeing it necessary to join them himself as the space stone played a key role in enabling Thanos to obtain the other stones, and it could help the Avengers to prevent Thanos from getting the stones if they were to use its power instead. Idk, just spitballing, and also knowing the attention to detail and plot information and continuity that these movies have and realizing that a detail such as this was well thought out (probably) makes me doubt that it would be a blatant plot hole especially considering how much this video is reaching in places.
It may not have made it into the MCU, but Loki is Heimdall's sworn diametrically opposed enemy. He is not Thor's brother to everyone except Thor and Odin. Heimdall would never trust him - - Heimdall feels that when Loki tells the truth it is only in service of some deeper deception or manipulation.
Heimdall can 'see everyone soul across the universe' it doesn't matter if they're evil or good, and he wouldn't just be looking for evil beings, those with immense power would flick up on his radar too.
the real loki is still alive because he successfully escapes from the ship. that loki who dies is a clone that he made before he left. notice that after the hulk fight with thanos, he disappear literally until after thanos told maw n co. to retrieve the stones on earth. ye that loki who dies is yet another trick from the god of mischief.
Loki is dead because the Russo brother said he is dead. Also Thanos said no resurrections this time. thanos isn't stupid. he would of know if that was a illusion anyway. so either way Loki died a hero and prove to his brother that he actually cared. so it was a good time for Loki story to end. R.I.P
This was the most lucid and thought out presentation of story details that were so obvious and overlooked. Which I suppose is how he knew exactly where to beam the Hulk to-Dr Strange’s lair. I’d like that to be addressed officials by Marvel as a plot detail hopefully. All in all though-Good job.
Fun fact: Odin once had all 6 infinity stones. Himdels power does come partly from the soul stone hence the orange eyes, and the bifrost comes down to give Thanos the soul stone. Then Loki was a frost giant who Odin adopted his power shape shift is not frost giant it's the reality stone. Plus he had a infinity gauntlet. Hela made a remark proving he had them all at a time. Idk remember what she said to the exact word, however.
Heimdal knew that thanos would attack the ship as he can see the future .he did not warn thor because of thanos thor encounter in ship thor was able to meet guardians of galaxy. Hemidall knew this and did not wanted to change the future so he accepted the fate.even in dark world .he knew that maliketh will attack asgard and even he knew that his men infiltrated asgard but he did not warn anyone as he should not change the future
Great points. I had heard Idras wanted out from the character. They should had done more with him. They did the same with Hallie Berry as Storm. I hope they do more with Heimdal when he returns. If Idras plays him or not.
Up to this point, the MCU has not talked about Ragnarok being cyclical, ie perpetuate reincarnation, that has been feature heavily in Norse Mythology, and in the Thor comics. Especially when Thor creates his homeland again in the southern american state.
Pale Blue Geek they alluded it to it. They said Asgard is wherever their people stay. They were also planning to create a new Asgard on earth (which would begin the cycle)
The Asgardians are not taken by surprise at all, they've known Thanos is coming for a long time now. Thor was sure they had a chance at that point and was still arrogant of his new power.
After what we see in endgame Heimdall might have seen Banner snapping and he might have realized that Thanos has already won getting 2 stones (I mean we have seen the power stone destroying planets like it was nothing) and sending teleporting Thanos won't do them no good btw Heimdall used dark magic instead of the bifrost so he was probably limited on where to send Thanos if he wanted to
8:46 The word you're looking for here is "subjected". Hulk was not conquered and enslaved by the dark magic Heimdall summoned, he was just transported home by it.
Ragnorak wasn't only my fav Thor movie, but it's my fav MCU movie. Heimdall is BA. Besides Thor, he is the strongest Asgardian. It's a shame we havnt seen more of him in the MCU
I don't know why I didn't crying on the scene that he was died, but I cry over the scene that Spider man is melting to the ashes so deep inside my feeling. Maybe because of I know that the god of Askard never die, they're all reborn somewhere again and again.
Since I'm not familiar with the comics, I don't know much about Ebony Maw, except that he seems to have some advanced magical powers. Maybe he was somehow able to obscure Heimdall's far-sight or something, making Thanos's ship able to take them by surprise. Thanos and his group probably know a lot about Thor and Heimdall's power and how to counter them, he also already posesses one infinity stone at that time if that can somehow be used as well.
I agree with the comments saying Heimdall sent Hulk because he would have succeeded warning the Avengers, but anyone ever thought he saw the future of when the Hulk snaps his fingers to bring everyone back in Endgame? Like Dr Strange he may have known he was the only one capable of doing it. If so, its awesome how it would affect both Hulk and Heimdalls story arc. Just a thought anyway lol
Heimdall not "seeing" Thanos coming is definitely not a plot hole. Let's say he did---so what? As stated at the start of "Infinity War," the Asgardians were in a refugee vessel, not a warcraft, and had very few soldiers. So even if Heimdall saw Thanos coming, there was no way to prepare--not against the titan with the Power Stone and the Black Order.
except maybe I dunno using the Bifrost to send someone with the space stone on the ship the fuck away from thanos so he couldn't acquire it? Def nothing could have been done.....
@fire rabbit tell anyone? if we can see it in the vault heimdale sure could have. He also would have known Loki grabbed it and was his main motivation behind his heroics in Ragnarok. Cmon bro
@@daboompaloompa Loki's power of illusion may be so powerful to even trick Heimdel and thus keep the fact he stole the Tessarect without anyone knowing. Perhaps.
Fun fact, Heimdallr was supposed to be the "Whitest" God in all of Aesir. What MCU did to Heimdallr in the movie was very racist. They black-washed a Norse god.
for Loki, Thanos was a constant nagging worry, so after Ragnarok, when overcome with immediate danger and decompressing, it's no surprise he may have lost track of Thanos. plus Heimdall may have source power from Asgard as a kind of refractive lense, so the loss of Asgard may have occluded his vision for a time, if not permanently. and i think hulk was simply freaked out by Thanos, not the Bifrost.

Surprise!"
Tony would be like "Get your Alien ass off my planet and take your Alien ass threats with you."
You’re made up dialogue between Thor and tony is literally no different than what banner had to say lol. If anything Thor is more knowledgeable and can more greatly explain the threat of thanos. Besides I think Dr strange had all the info anyways but regardless Thor is more knowledgeable i would think.
Nah, if Thor came to Earth telling you he destroyed their planet, trust and believe Tony would scramble quick.
@@aligaines8476 scramble quick to make a suit to stop him he probably already has one.
I knew that it was more about Heimdall since he appeared for the first time. I like these background stories 👌
He sent Hulk to warn the Avengers. If he sends Loki he know earth wouldn’t trust him 🤦🏾♂️
He should send Thanos far far away instead.
If he can see through time and space, maybe he saw different outcomes like Dr. Strange had done later in the movie. Letting Thanos take the stone and sending Hulk away could have been key to setting everything in motion.
Heimdall has came a long way, from a drug lord to the keeper of bifrost.
Respect!!!
"It's hard to catch a guy that can see the future" - Scourge
Ragna Hammer, Gary Heimdahl, and Thorland Berg were neighbors of mine in western Minnesota. There was a Loken family which might have been related to Loki. Much Norse Royalty surrounding my youth. All these people lived within 4 miles of my home. It is a good rule to never underestimate Heimdahl.
Heimdall is a legend.
He was one of my favorites, I cried when he died.
Elba needs to play Jon Stewart, ala, the black Green Lantern for the DCEU. That would be badass.
Heimdall know that sending Thor to earth meant he would not be able to get to the forge. Nobody wanted Loki on earth. He knew the strength of hulk could survive that trip to warn earth.
Is it just me, or does Idris Elba have the most badass name
Thank you for making this video. It helped me to understand alot of the seemingly ridiculous "oversights" which aren't quite so bad now.😉👍
if he sent thor to earth he would have never been able to get storm breaker. sending the banner back to earth helped the avengers slow down thanos's army. and lastly they never said that they didn't see the ship coming and there was a distress signal sent which was probably sent just after he saw the ship coming
What a character he was and he even saved our man the hulk
I don't think Heimdall and Loki are dead. I think that when Surtur destroyed Asgard, Hela was sent back to Hel. I also think Heimdall and Loki went to Hel when they died. I'm hoping that in End Game, Hela, Heimdall, and Loki leave Hel to help the Avengers. Hoping my theory is true... I want Loki back!!!!
Dorothy Page Loki and Heimdall died heroic deaths so if their souls went any where they would go to Valhalla.
@@thethunderant9208 Heimdall also died in a fight. Edit: I'm an idiot.
@@thethunderant9208 Let me have my delusions! LOL seriously though, if they did go to Valhalla, maybe they could find a way out.... perhaps a back door via the quantum realm?
Dorothy Page if they are doing time travel chances are is they won’t be dead for long.
An army of hel lead by Hela would be awesome. But don't forget she was Thanos girlfriend in comics for a while, even she tried get married with mad titan. It will be great that Thanos got a new friend.
You're the man Chris. One of our few , true heroes of
our great country of Canada.
Also he infinity stones have a homing beacon with each other. Maw went straight to the time stone, proximal went straight to the mind stone when Tony did not know, then the outriders all came to wakanda ‘“hidden” wakanda again to the mind stone.?? Thoughts
I like what you said about the hulk with the dark magic
And thanos had the power stone.
Idk, just spitballing, and also knowing the attention to detail and plot information and continuity that these movies have and realizing that a detail such as this was well thought out (probably) makes me doubt that it would be a blatant plot hole especially considering how much this video is reaching in places.
they literally had Thor survive the full force of a star in this movie, I think he could have handled a little dark magic
Great video
2:07 never mind the janitor, scourge, who casually uses it in Thor ragnarok.
scourge is actually pretty badass, in the comics, he was a pretty strong warrior. the MCU was just dimming him down.
If Thanos doesn't believe he is doing evil but good would he even be on Heimdall's radar of evil?
Heimdall can 'see everyone soul across the universe' it doesn't matter if they're evil or good, and he wouldn't just be looking for evil beings, those with immense power would flick up on his radar too.
If Donald Trump doesn't believe he is doing evil but good would he even be on anyone's radar of evil? Think hard
Very good vid, very good.
My thing is why didn't loki turn blue when he died
Because he actually didn't die in that scene (at least if you listen to the theorists)
Because he didn't he is the god of mischief
Because he Loki and fakes his death countless times.
He is not dead.
the real loki is still alive because he successfully escapes from the ship.
that loki who dies is a clone that he made before he left. notice that after the hulk fight with thanos, he disappear literally until after thanos told maw n co. to retrieve the stones on earth.
ye that loki who dies is yet another trick from the god of mischief.
Odin likes to put his name infront of things
“The odinforce”
“Odinsleep”
And probably more
Hunter Nelson The Odindong.
If he can see through space and time then he would know Hulk is the one to bring everyone back from the Snap.
Why didn't heimdall send thanos into a sun or something to kill him
Because there wouldn't be an Avengers Endgame and 98% of Infinity War would've never been a movie
Because he had space stone u noob fan
Good Video !!
He isn’t an Asguardian born, I want to know the story of his people and what happened to them
Great points.
4:44 a murderous titan with (his only weakness that you mentioned earlier in the video) powerful magic in the form of the infinity gauntlet.
I love the character of Heimdall.
The Asgardians are not taken by surprise at all, they've known Thanos is coming for a long time now. Thor was sure they had a chance at that point and was still arrogant of his new power.
He probably couldn’t see thanos because ebony maw
Doesn't Hiemdall see souls not minds? I'm not sure if there us a difference but that could he a loop hole.
@@lucario2able Yeah but Thanos has many beings and technology on his side (i would say magic too but jts "one in the same")
After what we see in endgame Heimdall might have seen Banner snapping and he might have realized that Thanos has already won getting 2 stones (I mean we have seen the power stone destroying planets like it was nothing) and sending teleporting Thanos won't do them no good btw Heimdall used dark magic instead of the bifrost so he was probably limited on where to send Thanos if he wanted to
RIP.... Heimdall😢😢😢😭😭
8:46 The word you're looking for here is "subjected".
Hulk was not conquered and enslaved by the dark magic Heimdall summoned, he was just transported home by it.
Did this dude just called Thor’s hammer mealnear?
he could've called it Mewmew
@Daegon lol
@@Keihryon Do. Not.

Because he was hungry 😅😅
Ragnorak wasn't only my fav Thor movie, but it's my fav MCU movie. Heimdall is BA. Besides Thor, he is the strongest Asgardian. It's a shame we havnt seen more of him in the MCU
If he would've sent Thor to "safety" Thor wouldn't have gotten StormBreaker
I don't know why I didn't crying on the scene that he was died,
but I cry over the scene that Spider man is melting to the ashes so deep inside my feeling.
Maybe because of I know that the god of Askard never die, they're all reborn somewhere again and again.
Heimdall sent hulk back to warn THE AVENGERS
OH SNAP!!! Idris Elbs would be the perfect Blue Marvel, and a new character to introduce to the MCU.
The titles sound so pretentious haha
Wade Wilson
Oh so he calls himself a god pretentious prick
Since I'm not familiar with the comics, I don't know much about Ebony Maw, except that he seems to have some advanced magical powers. Maybe he was somehow able to obscure Heimdall's far-sight or something, making Thanos's ship able to take them by surprise. Thanos and his group probably know a lot about Thor and Heimdall's power and how to counter them, he also already posesses one infinity stone at that time if that can somehow be used as well.
Heimdall the *GOD OF RAINBOWS* 🌈
I agree with the comments saying Heimdall sent Hulk because he would have succeeded warning the Avengers, but anyone ever thought he saw the future of when the Hulk snaps his fingers to bring everyone back in Endgame? Like Dr Strange he may have known he was the only one capable of doing it. If so, its awesome how it would affect both Hulk and Heimdalls story arc. Just a thought anyway lol
I wonder where's Heimdalls- sword now that he's gone..
Heimdall has incredible powers.
@@daboompaloompa But Loki would never tell anyone about the stone, not if he thought he could get away with it.
Heimdall is my favorite character
for Loki, Thanos was a constant nagging worry, so after Ragnarok, when overcome with immediate danger and decompressing, it's no surprise he may have lost track of Thanos. plus Heimdall may have source power from Asgard as a kind of refractive lense, so the loss of Asgard may have occluded his vision for a time, if not permanently. and i think hulk was simply freaked out by Thanos, not the Bifrost.
Dude... Thanos had the reality stone. Changing what they're seeing. Just a theory but it explains why they didn't see them coming
I was mad when they had Idris play Heimdall because I knew it was just a background role
