  • The Adventure Bike Rider Festival, 2024, was utterly amazing. And it was made even better by being able to ride the BMW R1300GS off road under the guidance of BMW instructors. This adventure motorbike was insanely good. Smooth power delivery, easy to handle off road, and easy to handle on road.
I use riding to try and combat my poor mental health, and once I've got over the pre-ride anxiety, I find that riding forces me to concentrate on the now.
If you're ever thinking you need support, I can heartily recommend Andy's Man Club. They have great banter, tea, and biscuits, and are literally life saving - andysmanclub.c...

Lol, at least you were able to have your camera. They told me to take it off before the ride :/
    Great video 😊

Some places do that. Others do but don’t care :)

Great video. I really must try one next year. From my experience on RTs I would suggest that the bike really wasn’t at its best at those speeds. When it is you’d be illegal though😊. Just ask yourself why they didn’t go round the grassy course we did with the others…. I’m thinking it’s about just how big it goes pear shaped when there’s a bit of misjudgment….
I would like to try. If only to eat my own words😊

I rode the Ducati Desert X on the grass last year. First ride of the weekend and utterly stuffed it on a slow turn on the grass :)

@@ExeterCenturion I suspect you weren’t supposed to do that… ouch!!!

I did the Level 1 course on the GS1300 and can thoroughly recommend it.
BTW, that bike has a quick shifter so you have to be sure to activate the clutch before touching the gear shift. That way the bike knows you are doing a manual shift and you won't have all that clunk and lurching when changing.
It also has linked brakes, so you can just use the front brake only most of the time, even off-road.

Did you learn a lot on Level 1?

@@ExeterCenturion Yes and far more than I was expecting. We also had time to spare so did few things from level 2.

About time we saw you on a "proper" BMW! The pistons go side to side, NOT up n down on a 'real' BM 😛👍

I might get chased with Pitchforks but still not a fan of GS's, they still sound like tractors to me
The ABS Light was flashing because you was in Enduro Pro mode so it turns off ABS
What Day did you do the test ride, I see you bumped in to a looney KTM rider seemed to be loads of them on the trial :( causing havoc

I love the sound :) they pull like tractors too! Rode it on the Sunday, thanks to a bit of help. Loved the bike.

Yeah, I’ve only been riding a couple of years and with MH issues I can do without passes like that 😀

That stall felt alot worse than it looked! 😂Impressive machines but excess power and weight isn't needed tbh
