I ride that track frequently and holy crap, to get lap times like his the bike must be like a wild bucking bronco because it’s moving around so much! I’ve got lots to learn.
So very cool. I hope I get a chance to see him at Thunderhill sometime this summer. Didn't he run AFM a couple of years ago? I seem to remember seeing him on a Honda, winning, at Thunderhill.
Same kiddo; T Hill is our home track, and yes, he was probably on a Honda. That being said, I sure am excited to see what he can do on a 2019 Suzuki!! :)
Half the black streaks on track are from this dude! Guy's sliding, getting the front aimed and letting it rip - crazy. Put some telemetry on these so we can compare speeds!
@@TROdesigns if you are interested, we are selling the 2017 Honda that won the 2019 AFM Formula Pacific Championship with all of the imported Japanese electronics kit, body work, and additional tire rack, etc. It's time to buy a work truck! :)
The track has looked better.. I remember when they repaved Sears Point, I think in 1983. The grip was so awesome and the times immediately dropped. My partner and I rode his new GS750 to 1st place in class, at the 4 hour that year.
@@ryanmccarthy7281 The track was repaved in 2014, so its not THAT old compared to other tracks in CA. The grip isn't bad yet, so I wouldn't be surprised if they let it go another year or two. They are building a new track on the property right now. So that's probably where the $$ is going.
@@ryanmccarthy7281 Repaving is VERY expensive. For tracks that do not have large events and large incomes, it takes a long time to pay off that bill. Which is exactly why you don not see a lot amenities at these smaller locations. In some states you're looking at ~ $150,000 per mile, for a two lane road. In California, dot spends up to 5 times that according to reports. So that's a lot of track day pennies. I would assume that these smaller tracks barely keep themselves a float and their distant locations just adds to the refurbishing costs.
It looks bad in the video but it's actually not that bad in real life. There are a couple bumps but I've been to much worse tracks. Turn 2 definitely looks super rough with the concrete patch but it's not.
A family that races together, stays together. 🥰 (Correction- The lap record was set on the GSXR- thank you Allan for correcting me. The Honda was used at T hill).
@@RickyJr46 I’ll tell him that you said so. He’s watched the video two times and is SURE that with the proper gearing he can get to a 1:42.7, at least. (#goals)
What a keen eye you have! Jay likes the front rebound to be super stiff so that it can handle the force of heavy front braking on corner entry. (I’m his Mom though; I may be wrong..)
@@rebeccasmith347 Thanks Mom, I am an engineer with about 15 Track Days under my belt, stopped due to broken wrist being forced off the track. Your son is fun to watch.

For anyone wondering, the lap time Jayson set here was a 1:43.067, according to Roadracing World.
Thank you

Yeah the track looks like shit whats up with that? Is there really not enough money in this sport for track owners to fix their tracks?

By what time?
