Leigh Diffey the former voice of V8 Supercars now a legend in motorsports commentary in the USA is what I remember about my American introduction to Aussie V8 Supercars. You got to have good commentators and during this era Leigh Diffey's excitement for the series and to this day anything motorsports is what stands the test of time for those watching or those that went to the event.
Courtyard whines so much like yes Tander was in the wrong but that interview was a day after and Coultard is still chucking little insults at Tander. Tander is one of the best, coultard is jealous of him lol
That’s the Kiwi in him bro. He took no backwards step after that. Good thing we can’t have a blue at these races otherwise NZ will not only take the Championship home, but we’d be collecting Aussie teeth too 😂
Extremely great to watch all these moments of V8 supercars. These events mad the event each time well worth watching. I've always loved the heated moments with Ambrose n Murph. U do not get that in today's racing. But with aero we might
when did he admit to screwing up? He said he was happy to take 50% of the blame and was pretty clear Ambrose was also to blame. Murphy was holding his line as entitled and Ambrose had not completed pass. Murphy wasn't obligatedto slam on the brakes putting himself in danger of being rear ended by another car. Murphy has said it wasn't worth fighting over when neither were going to make the podium. Ambrose has said in the heat of the moment he pushed it but in hindsight shouldn't have. Ambrose also said he respects Murphy but wouldn't have him over for dinner. So how do you draw conclusion it was all Murphy's fault? Ambrose features in more than one so he ain't no saint either.
Yeah no. Even if Murphy was at full blame for the crash, if Ambrose had just worn his balaclava, he wouldn’t have had to do the extra stop, and he wouldn’t have come out behind Murphy, and he probably would’ve been a lot calmer too. Ambrose put himself in that spot
Interesting how controlled they are even in conflict. I imagine there's a relationship between that and the control they have over a motorcar to make it as fast as they do lap after lap
Because these cars are more fragile than a nascar. They are built way more complicated and detailed than nascars, are built to be lighter, don't have as strong fenders and therefore the damage to these cars is often far more significant than it looks like plus it makes far more of a difference if the fender is still where it needs to be on road courses than it is on ovals, where you only need to drive into one direction. The direction changes stress the suspensions far more, therefore damage to the suspension is way more bad on road courses than it is on ovals and hence the fenders are lighter, they tend to suffer from damage earlier and easier which has a negative effect on the steerability of the car.
Road racing isn’t necessarily a contact sport…NASCAR on the other hand like everything in America, is simple, requires pretty rudimentary set of skills and probably why there aren’t many Americans who have transitioned into road racing. Because they’re shit

Having never grown up with Brocky, seeing that clip driving those older touring cars like that whilst giving banter is just impressive. What a driver.
I loved Ingall in the Ford, he was constantly trolling Skaife and Murphy & Co.🤣
I hope young Murphy is not like his dad
V8 supercars in the 2000s was truly something else

Legendary nickname as well, crackers.
Greatest all-time bust ups with Greg Murphy, and maybe some others in there too. Miss you Murph.
The one where Tander turned Couthard around at Surfer's was brutal.
Pretty dangerous at that speed too, Tander should have been banned for a race!
That was extraordinary. Thank God he was okay, there's no reason to risk a crash like that

Stone Brothers vs Holden was so entertaining to watch
Love how they put this out just after Chase Elliott and Kevin Harvick got together at Bristol in NASCAR
