This year, an INCREDIBLE patch/romhck has been released for the DS version that adds party chat, and it's now one-to-one with the English mobile version. The DS version is now the ultimate version in every aspect. Works perfectly with an emulator OR on original hardware as well! (I know there's a few other comments here mentioning this already, but the more who see this, the better.)

It's way better on mobile tbh. Better graphics, better sound quality for the music and music is slightly extended (a lot of tracks have intros in mobile that is not present in DS), and the biggest and obvious change between the two versions is the party chat being present only in the mobile version.

Nice, I wonder if there are differences in DQ5 since it has four versions SNES, PS2, DS, and Mobile (IOS).
Didn't even know that there was a audio flaw in the PSX version of DQ4 which could of been back if it was released DW4 good thing the Devs fixed it later though a few things were missed.
Hope Square Enix has a anniversary release for Zenithian Trilogy that has original and PSX graphics with no missing content and additional roaming enounter mode to switch from random to roaming to all three DQ (4,5,and6).

The localization is worth mentioning. Many people who played the original first (like myself) absolutely cannot stand the other versions' localization redo. The accents, for one. And the name changes, for another. Most of the main character names got butchered, but I think the most egregious being Saro Manslayer? Blechhhh.. He'll always be Necrosaro to me. Just play mobile if you don't actually despise playing on a phone. Or play DS. Nes is very outdated and PS1 isn't in English.
