There is no such thing as Latino blood. Both you and her are wrong about that. Latino is an ethnographic/linguistic term, and being Latino is not an indicator of any certain type of DNA profile. There are Latinos who completely African genetically, as well as ones who are 100%, European, Asian, or native, etc. And any mixture imaginable.

@@Mary_Thompson There is no such thing as Latino DNA. A Latino is someone who lives in a Latino country, and is of Latino culture, or is descended from such a person, and is generally still at least in part, connected to Latin o culture. Someone who’s parents were born and raised in Mexico, and who’s family lived there for generations, spoke Spanish as their main language, assimilated in the general culture of Mexico, but who had 100% German, Czech, and British ancestry, would absolutely be a Latino. Ultimate ancestry does not count for shit when it comes to culture and ethnicity.

@@kenv3525 I am from Spain and this is one of the many legends that people in the States still believe about Spain. Please inform yourself before you wrongly inform others. We talk with a "lisp" in certain parts of Spain. The reason is to avoid grammar errors. To know the difference between the c,z, and s. With time and development the written word became the spoken. In latinamerica they don't talk with a lisp because the Spanish accent that got there was the one used in Seville, which does not include a lisp. Back then, talking with a lisp in the southern part of Spain was considered something low class people would do.

The only people surprised are those raised specifically in the U.S. Everyone raised, in their own country isn’t called ‘latino’ or ‘hispanic’. You’re either Cuban, Honduran, Mexican, etc. If you’re darker, most people call you ‘negrita/negrito’ (like I was); meaning black girl/boy. It doesn’t carry the level of offense it has in the U.S. because the word ‘negro’ in Spanish literally means black. Anyone who’s offended, has been influenced by their experience growing up in the U.S. (like I too was when I was a teen, I don’t care anymore because I can tell the difference) because in Spanish speaking countries calling someone indio, chino, or negro isn’t bad.

Almost all latin countries DNA population will show Spain and native americans. Those spaniards who arrived to American came also from ancestors from different countries like Portugal, France, Italy, african countries etc. therefore those genes are going to be among the latin american people. There is not a Peruvian race, or caribbean race, or argentina race. It does not exist. You are a native with a percentage of all races that existed before discovering America. Actually the only 100% native are the rare indian tribal towns where they did not mix with others.

The Spanish established hundreds of hospitals that were free and accepted people of all races. NOT dumb, just not knowing. In some cases, what your race was, was a matter of survival. What your "racial combination" was, either gave you advantages or disadvantages. There were 16 racial classifications in colonized Mexico! So parents might omit information from their children, or even lie about certain things, trying to give them an advantage. Something any parent might do in the circumstances. Do some research- "Casta Paintings" or "Spanish Enlightenment". Do not consider people as dumb when they simply did not know.
If they could "pass" for a better "casta", that meant erasing any knowledge of the bloodline you knew to be from, to survive in that better casta. You simply did not discuss it with your children.

Liam because at the end of the day, being Afro-latino and also having european blood means you have some of the colonizers blood flowing through your veins as well as african blood. WHY would you be happy to be part of that colonization? We are the descendants of the slaves that were raped, killed, beaten, and tortured and brought without no choice to the Caribbean islands as well in central America. It makes absolute sense to be disgusted, you can say what you want but the white latinos that are mostly nothing but european descent are individuals that are seen as better than us due to the colonizers standard, & if you have eyes society got the same idea of whats the nicest looking.

I did my test and I was 34 percent black but I have straight hair and light skin, genes are such a weird thing. But at the end of the day I don’t necessarily take pride in where my ancestors came from but rather the struggles they had to endure to put me where I am cause that’s all that really matters

Black is a race lol. You’re not 34% black, that just means a third of your genetic make up traces back to Africa. Race is based on your looks and facial structure which means you’re mixed race

Some blacks and Latinos Latinas do not understand their culture and if you look at all African tribes some of them do have straight curly wavy hair so it's not that difficult to understand that you could be black and still have straight wavy hair and if you really think about it Aborigines have that blonde and Sandy hair. If you really know your history, dwell into it deeply we are all from Mother Africa and that include white people they have a genetic deficiency that lacks melanin.

That Afro-Mexican is a percentage black and a percentage something else. 100% Black people don't exist in Mexico.
