I have never watched such informative videos on youtube ever! You have a real understand knack for teaching your moves even for those who do not have advanced skills. Coming from someone who played with firestaffs for years, you have inspired me to continue poi and look for variations. By far your slowing down on skills and tricks has helped many however a huge thankyou from me, please keep up the videos your amazing. Would love to see a video where you carve up to a dubstep style track to show how you will/could develop with enough practice and time. Again thankyou your an inspiration to all poi enthusiasts.
I just love his little jump at 1:16 with this cute smile! It's so honest and shows that he really means it the way he's saying it. That is also a good fountain. ^^
Nick, your videos are just the best! I have been spinning for about a week and your videos have helped me progress faster than i could have ever imagined!
I have just started with poi 3 weeks ago, and nick is hands down the best teacher I have found. He makes it easy to understand and when I am successful with a new move it motivates me to keep going. Nick, thank you so so so much for sharing your knowledge I will be learning from form you for a long time ✌🏻
After walking through this method to learn it,I got it solid, but then I realized it would have been helpful to just say "It's just turning the weave once followed by one shoulder reel behind the head". However, I think I learned it better this way. I already have a great big circular motion. I love your tutorials so much!
AHHH love this so much man! Fantastic video. Poi is my biggest stress reliever I love just playing around but when i get the itch to learn something new I always come to playpoi! This video in particular has helped advance my spinning so much. Much love!
that's a great break down, I'd got each step before you moved onto the next one. I think someone tried to teach this one to me a few years ago and I couldn't get it; this style suited me much better. Thank you!
Wow, this is great! And it didn't take me long to learn at all with your method, less than 2 viewings of the video...Last night, when I learned it, my planes were all funky, but now today -- like you said -- the planes are starting to straighten out. Thanks so much, Nick! Yet another thing I've learned from you :D Keep it up, Nick! You're an inspiration to all of us.
Nick, I love you! Thank you for being such an awesome teacher and inspiration!!! If you ever need artwork, I will do it for you at no cost to you, just to show my appreciation for how much you have done for me!!!
Thank you Nick !!! YOU ROCK !!! My Name is Michael Miller and you taught me almost everything I know when it comes to poi, from my first 2beat weave to wall plain antispin flowers I fell in to rabbit hole of the Flow Arts after seeing someone playing with LED poi at ''Chinatown nights'' a festival here in Los Angeles held in the summer I got super in to it and when looking to learn poi online i found you, Nick here on youtube it has been an amazing adventure for me every video that you release inspires me a little more to make that push work on that one thing that i have been struggling with because of you I have gotten to meet all sorts of great people thru the Flow Arts. I got to attend Master Ongs Flow Rertreat at EVO in 2013 it was so cool where was just so much concentrated Talent there and so many fun workshops it was so inspirational for me and i have you to thank for my poi adventures past present and future once again THANK YOU Nick Sincerely Michael Miller
Hey, Nick. Just to add to the love! I'm retired but reasonably fit, got into poi because my daughter gave me a couple as a gift one Christmas. Too much to try, too little time, I learn slower than I used to and I doubt I'll ever be much more than a beginner - but I really, really enjoy your videos, your style of teaching, and above all the obvious FUN you have doing it all. Never stop! 8-) (And now I've GOT to go get my poi out and try to learn 4x4...)
Ian Noble, I’m also retired. Picked it up three weeks ago and am finding my brain creating new pathways through poi that help me grasp other things easier. What a fun and challenging thing to have extra time for now huh?
Love this tutorial and the fountain. Took me a couple of weeks to get it working, but feels like the first intermediate poi move I’ve got clean. Love the boom boom for the little triumphs and the kaboom for the big triumphs 😄
You are absolutely fantastic and I cannot express my happiness for your videos! You've helped me learn how to poi spin all the way to putting different moves together. Keep it up! You're ahhhmazing sir!
You are an amazing teacher! Usually poi has 3 steps for me: 1 - complete brainfuck. 2 - aha Moment but the muscle memory/body didn't catch up yet. 3 - music on and whoa I just did it, that's not hard at all! You just made me skip step 1 :D
Ahh, I've been wanting to learn this for a while now and just sort of forgot about learning it today. Went through the steps as you said and it clicked almost instantly. The way you break things down into steps and show it repeatedly is perfect, as well as facing away from the camera which I love. You really helped me with this and even figured it out the same day. Cant wait to practice this the next few days. Thank you!
I wish I had this video 12 months ago! I only got rid of that extra beat at the top of my fountain a couple of days ago (after the milling video). I really like this method for learning the fountain - I've been struggling until now on how to communicate it when teaching.
This is wonderful - I hadn't realized or ever tried the fountain as show here or realized the difference in what i was doing but I got it in an instant once I tried and it opened my mind (and watching all the other rhythm videos recently) to why trying to do three beat forward to three beat backward to wind mill to three beat forward is very tough to sink to 4 beat music also same with the weave turn i was doing were like three beat forward to half beat of split same to three beat backward to half beat of split same - but the 2 beat to above to 2 beat to bellow inherently syncs up with 4/4 music also the 2 beat to 2 beat weave turns counting timing with cross points up then down etc - then i tried going back to my original fountain but i did 3 beat forward to water mill to three beat backward to wind mill etc - just the idea of 3 beat partners never really syncing right with music but 2 and 4 beat patterns do makes so much sense but i hadn't really just ever explored it - thanks Nick you rock!
never thought I was gonna get this. I really tried to practice turning the weave and once I felt comfortable with that. then added in the behind my head motion and boom I got it. it does feel really natural once it clicks.
You are the most amazing teacher Nick! Thank you so much for making these video's. You break things down brilliantly and make it so much easier to learn. You have literally taught me everything I know and best of all there are still lots of video's to go!! Thank you again.
Wow dude love your work, was recommended to this channel from a friend as I am a eager begginer who wants to get good but I only know a few moves. So looking forward to learning this Drex thanks for your awesome flow ❤️
Done it :) for 1 day :) Thank you for everything Nick, you are my Poi GURU :) i can't stop spin :) im obsessed with that beautiful art. Thank you so much once again, you show me completely new world for me :) i love it and please dont stop (: wish you all the best for you and your frend's in the future.
These are by far the best poi (and maybe any kind of flowtoy) videos on youtube! Also, you're exceptionally good-looking ;) What I like about a 4 beat fountain is that it makes it very easy to dance to most electronic music, which is usually in 4/4.
This tutorial worked for me!! I've been wanting to learn the fountain for a long time now, and was able to pick it up after only a few tries with this video! Thanks a million for the great tutorials Nick, you're the BEST!
I didn't learn that from a tutorial. I just managed to do it myself When I was like 11. I didn't know how I was doing it I was just playing around then suddenly I learned this trick. Just sharing haha. this was my most favorite trick. It is smooth and simple.
Thanks for the great vid! I'm trying this as an adventuresome newbie, and you just taught me how to turn the weaves, which is making me laugh with delight! I'll try to tackle the rest tomorrow!
1:41 in. Someone taught this to me about 8 days ago. I picked it up after about three days in both directions, but when I see your addition of the windmill at the top, and then I try that, it just feels so... It breaks from the flow of what you're teaching in this video. I can see how a newbie can get trapped in a windmill on the top weave, as I did quite a few times when learning, but once I felt the full circle when I did it correctly the first time, that was it, and I was locked into that amazing flow! But hey, I'm going to play the rest of the video and see what else you teach, and what other insights you give. n.n
Omg! I've was having trouble to lear that movement and then i found your video and BAM just learned. You teaches increadibly well. I'm totally subscribed on your channel. Thank yoooou! S2
Thanks a lot, I almost got it! Maybe I'm thinking too much cause I get confused sometimes and BANG, my head's got hit. I've always wanted to play with pois and your videos have been very helpful.
Is there such a thing as two bit foundations XD I can do some crappy move where I can go from a 3 beat wave on my left side into a windmill but I can't do it on my right side into a reverse windmill.
I whacked myself in the crotch twice learning this trick, the second time hard enough to keep me on the floor several minutes to recover. Oddly enough I was only trying to do a regular weave then. However, I think I've just about got it.
Hi jim, you are awesome i startet to play about 4 days ago i learned so much from you. For example the 4%4 foundation i looked today 3 times after the third time i konw bow how to do this trick also. And your website awesome!!! Greetings and please keep shining like in every other video of you!
As I said earlier I don't understand what your are doing at belly/crotch level. You have a forward weave, reverse and windmill. What is the fourth move? I am doing two reversed weaves because i don't what to do :)) Could you or someone please explane?
Why do i keep adding an extra loop when I get into the backward weave part of a fountain???? I feel so frustrated. I know poi works easiest if your calm and not over thinking but its really making me grumpy. P.s. Nick I think you are wonderful, without you I would of never gotten this far, I started poi as Physiotherapy for my chronic pain illness and now because of the love and focus, I'm now off all my pain medication and coping with a positive attitude and my poi. Big love Nick, one day I hope I get to thank you in person xxx
Hey Nick, I was practicing fountains this summer, without any videos and somehow managed to add a watermill kind of spin into my fountain so I go like forwards weave-windmill-backwards weave-watermill spin, not full, just the half of the spin so the poi move fit into each other, wonder if you can show this, or if it is just a messy creation of mine. BTW great job on videos and keep it up! and have a good time in Peru
YEAH!!!i got it!! Thanks so much, your video help me a lot and i had a look on your website, it's very well done!! i think that i understand step by step as you said and Wahoooo!! AMAZING!!
I learned this trick like that 8:00 by studying your movements :D, is it possible to do this trick in a "anti spinning" way? anyways thanks for your videos Nick
You are an awesome instructor. I am just starting out and your videos are extremely helpful. Unfortunately, I am pretty sure I just gave myself a black eye😂😂
so i have a pretty decent handle on spinning poi.. a big issue i've had from the very beginning is planes behind me. i've realized i have very poor flexibility in my wrists.. is there anyway for me to work through that other than just trying to stretch it out?
This guy's energy is so great! The location fits perfectly
I have never watched such informative videos on youtube ever! You have a real understand knack for teaching your moves even for those who do not have advanced skills. Cannot believe how good this works as you’ve broken the Trick down and explained. So awesome to close the eyes and flow in a circle circling circles 😍
I have watched and learnt from you over the years. Pls come to Australia! Your technic is a true gift. Thank you for sharing.
Your tutorials are the best! :) I learn so quickly, cheers bud!
Nick, your videos are just the best! I have been spinning for about a week and your videos have helped me progress faster than i could have ever imagined!
Thankyou so much, I love your videos, you give off so much positive energy, I’ve been learning for about 6 weeks now and managed this today xx
I have just started with poi 3 weeks ago, and nick is hands down the best teacher I have found. He makes it easy to understand and when I am successful with a new move it motivates me to keep going. Nick, thank you so so so much for sharing your knowledge I will be learning from form you for a long time ✌🏻
What a fantastic teacher. There's real art in breaking down a complex move into its components. Go Nick!

I was missing the turn coming out of my windmill on my right side and this video totally showed me where to add the step. Nick, you are my hero!
Wow, this is great! Aloha Nick, just wanted to let you know how much I appreciate you.
New to poi. This move is simply mesmerizing. I'll be practising it this week. Love your style N.W.
Love this tutorial and the fountain. Took me a couple of weeks to get it working, but feels like the first intermediate poi move I’ve got clean. Love the boom boom for the little triumphs and the kaboom for the big triumphs 😄
I love the way you break everything down evenly

I am making sock poi tomorrow... Its gonna be a whole new world..! thanks so much for the video links and tutorials the world needs more of this!

Hallelujah! I got it after about 3 hours of practice, and a good smack to the balls 😵 it does feel smooth when you get it! Thanks for the tutorial!
I love you love learning with you! Thank you for making these videos but also you are such a bright light ❤️

Great Videos! I am forever grateful! :)

Definitely finding some great teachers for poi.. Just got my first rig today so Tuesday and Wednesday of my off days will be consumed XD
You're such a character Nick. :) This is a great one to link up to the split time progressions. Flash Mob Poi! :)
This was a delight to learn!!! Great instructions, fun
Thanks for the great lesson kind Sir! Love it!
No excuses! It took two and a half short practice sessions over two days, but I got it. Now to learn it counter-clockwise....
Fantastic teacher! Thank you very much. You made me happy.
This tutorial worked for me!! I've been wanting to learn the fountain for a long time now, and was able to pick it up after only a few tries with this video! Thanks a million for the great tutorials Nick, you're the BEST!

Thanks a lot, I almost got it! Maybe I'm thinking too much cause I get confused sometimes and BANG, my head's got hit. I've always wanted to play with pois and your videos have been very helpful.
What an awesome resource for swing flag learning.
Awesome video and very well explained. Learned a ton and even the sound quality is good. Lot of video's tend to forget there's sound 8-)
Is there such a thing as two bit foundations XD I can do some crappy move where I can go from a 3 beat wave on my left side into a windmill but I can't do it on my right side into a reverse windmill.
Lovely background. Alright! seems I have been doing the 4x4 fountain the entire time =) must be my 5 beat weaves that changed my fountain over time.
Love your videos and teaching style!!
Thank you for sharing your knowledge - most of what I know comes from your videos.
this video taught me windmills more than anyone ever has, Thank you so much
Surviving isolation with you, Thanks Nick!
I whacked myself in the crotch twice learning this trick, the second time hard enough to keep me on the floor several minutes to recover. Oddly enough I was only trying to do a regular weave then. However, I think I've just about got it.

Where you live has to be the most serene/perfect place to use poi.

You are an awesome instructor. I am just starting out and your videos are extremely helpful. Unfortunately, I am pretty sure I just gave myself a black eye😂😂

so i have a pretty decent handle on spinning poi.. a big issue i've had from the very beginning is planes behind me. i've realized i have very poor flexibility in my wrists.. is there anyway for me to work through that other than just trying to stretch it out?
hey I know the fountain that involves the windmill and I cant seem to get the 4x4 right. I've watched this video a few times.
I'm gonna try it
