    In case your wondering for a class c firework the maxium powder per arial unit is a max of 60 grams so when you see 5 6 8 inch shells its mostly fluff sometimes with bigger stars but mostly its just an advertisement gimmick just like there has to be one inch spacing from tubes on a 500gram why those saturn missle batteries are the size of a pallet 😂

    the 60 grams is total composition which includes the lift powder. so minus the bit hulls and clay that was mixed in with the stars/burst its right at 60g. buying a 5/6/7 inch canister shell is just paying for more cardboard.

    I'm glad to see the prices starting to come back down I just bought the platinums and the growlers for 88 bucks here in Kentucky. They were selling for 125 thru 150 last year.

    One trick for a bigger boom but will affect the break is to wrap the shell with tape or plastic compression is the main factor to the boom but be carefull to much and you have a bomb or best case a mine shell if you wrap to much 😅

      No problem and yeah I look around as well but being 5 dollars a shell or more sometimes no one wants to open them which I get. These are nice but I did get some Growlers this past New Year and they are a little louder I would say. I still have 15 shells left and about 8 of these Excalibur

    Will opening let's say 3 of these shells and cutting this mortar in the middle for a tube with heavy glued plugs at the end cause a boom? Or bang?

    I live just 7 miles from the Indian fireworks stands and casino. I'm gonna look for this one. Last year most of the fireworks were sold out before July 4th because of this co-called supply chain problem. This year I'll be out there at 7AM on the first day they open with at least $2,000 in hand. As usual, another great video. Thanks!

    A lot of shells have a Empty space just like a 7inch shell not saying the brand has 1 inch Empty space

    yeah im not sure how much different a 4, 5, 6, or 7 inch shell could be, given that they all have equal to or less than 60 gram of pyro inside. But i havent done a comparison. Appreciate your vids...new subscriber!

      Yeah other places are cheaper when I was in Georgia I used to go to phantom and they were open year round and had the little moon travelers but here in Texas apparently they are illegal and you can’t get them but I’ve seen many places have cheaper prices. I’m going to a new store tomorrow to check out the prices but I still have 20 shells left since I didn’t use them all. Not to mention I still have 6 left from the Excalibur and growlers

    In consumer fireworks they never really use bp coated rice hulls or anything. It was probably there so it dosen't stick to the tooling and it's easily to slip off when mass producing these 1.4 products. And pure hot flash would absolutely annihilate those stars and probably get the bomb squad called on you lol. Im pretty sure they use a fancy tpa burster type flash mixed with something else since it's safer to work with on large scales and is relatively cheap. Just wonder what type of time fuse/ spolette they use since it's pretty reliable and seems to work most of the time "most" lol. Great video nonetheless

    • @E85_STI
      @E85_STI  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks man and for my shells I use that Chinese time fuse and it works really good. As for consumer idk what kind it is.

      @@E85_STI i use the same stuff and it's epic. It fits perfectly into a little 1/4 inch bottle rocket tube from skylighter aswell. For any shells larger then 3 inches i like to use spolettes but it's rare i make such large shells anyway lol. Spolettes are a bit more reliable and cheaper to make in my area which is good in this little gas crisis lol

    By your numbers 7g of lift and 55g of stars so that's about 62 grams 👍👌

      Also he should weigh the fuse, I heard that is also included in the 60 gram count.

  • @3ccdmike
    @3ccdmike 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    60 grams buddy. You include the lift to get 60.

    • @E85_STI
      @E85_STI  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No the lift was separate so it’s over 60 if you include the lift but they don’t usually as they are advertising the 60 grams for effect.

    • @3ccdmike
      @3ccdmike 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@E85_STI well that's my point, they say 60 grams including the lift and yours were slightly over. cool !

    • @E85_STI
      @E85_STI  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@3ccdmike yeah man I didn’t really think about adding the lift like that so yeah these are pretty good for what they advertise. I used what was inside in a few headers I made for some whistle rockets so we’ll see how they work out. Thanks for watching and commenting.

    I had them recently and was disappointed there not worth all the hype IMHO got a box for 80 to test and I thought the original xcals where better. But I make my own out of these cool 2 piece 1.75 inch cans there quick and easy. But my favorites are the 100 shells Kong shells death cans and any can shells made by winda I think the hellcat shells are the biggest letdown

    • @E85_STI

      @@E85_STI completely agree I like the 1 pounders and 3 pound for my bigger canisters but by far the 5/8 cohete tooling is my favorite to make there so fast to make and dont need anything but hot bp. And there awesome with whistle. I was able to lift over 50 grams on a 5/8 cohete or econo tooling as listed on woodys site.
