They kept comms really short, with it understood that Fox in that WEZ meant AIM-7 without having to say Fox 1, I noticed. It also sounded like lead was coaching a junior a bit to make sure he had good separation so there wouldn't be an AIM-7 flying in close proximity to lead's bird in all the excitement.
That had to be stressful. Could you imagine if we could show one of the human armies from the 1500s what warfare would look like. Fighting a modern air war would be absolutely adrenaline soaked.
Unless I'm mistaken, the narrator is a bit misleading claiming that the Iraqi forces scored 0 kills against Allied Coalition fighters. Sadly, that isn't true. Lt Cdr Scott Speicher, callsign "Spike", flying a USN F/A-18C belonging to VFA-81, was shot down by an Iraqi MIG-25 at a range of roughly 20 miles. He was able to eject but tragically perished. There is a Hornet on display at NAS Pensacola with VFA-81 markings and Scott's name under the canopy, in tribute to his sacrifice. He died in service to his country and we should never forget him. Shortly after this incident, I believe the following night, the same squadron(VFA-81) from the USS Saratoga scored two confirmed air to air kills against Iraqi fighters, I believe both were MIG-21s. You can find a fantastic interview with one of the pilots involved(He scored 1 of the kills) on the youtube channel "The Fighter Pilot Podcast". I highly suggest you watch it if you're at all interested in these events.
@@RedFail1-1 I don’t know what he said, but I am 100% positive that he didn’t shot down any Yugoslav aircraft. If he said that, he is a complete liar… Can you please tell me what exactly did he say - when did he shot down and which type of aircraft (was it MiGs or something else)?

Two F-15s were shot down. One by a V-750AK SAM on the 19th of January, and another by AAA on January the 17th. One F-18 was shot down by a MiG-25 (the only air-to-air loss the US has suffered in the last 45+ years). Another F-18 was lost over the gulf, probably got lost & ran out of gas. Three F-16s were shot down. Two from SAMs, specifically a 2k12 and S-125 on the 19th of January, during a daylight raid on Baghdad. The last F-16 lost was the last fixed wing loss of the war. Shot down by a Igla-1 (a Soviet Stinger missile).

Pretty sure F-15Cs were a lot cheaper than that, even back then. But the tape's quality has obviously degraded over time, I don't think the original video was as bad.
The 200million dollar plan was made in the 80s so I apologize on behalf of the USAF and McDonnell Douglas that you don't get 4kHD so you can watch people kill each other easier.
This video has been compressed, digitized, and then ripped and downloaded, then finally compressed and uploaded to TH-cam. Of course it's poor quality.
I've seen better video clarity of WWII and North Korean engagements. I have NO idea where any Foxbat fighter was at on the video seen here - nothing more that faded out blur. What? Our technology decided to take a dump and go somewhere else? Sad. The narrator failed to note ONE victory by an Iraqi fighter - Scott Speicher was shot down in his F18C and lost. And one more tidbit to chew on...the narrator claimed the F18's gun could fire 6,000 rounds a minute. SO WHAT! It could only carry 578 rounds of 20mm...that's it! That's a rate of fire of 100 rounds per second; meaning an F18 pilot had a hair over 5 seconds of fire power with that gun. No, thank you.
Great example of brevity, superior training, and maintaining composure when the pressures on.

Heheman was not in Kosovo fight. Rico Rodriguez was the one who had kills in Desert Storm and Kosovo war.
Nobody has 5 kills, not since Vietnam.
Why are the gun camera recordings always so blurry? They can't possibly be that bad from the pilots perspective.

The 3 Mig 23s shot down were 3th gen jets.
