Man, they both sound great but the Pedal Pawn really nails that Austin City Limits Tightrope tone! All the reviews are spot on, I’ve never heard any pedal nail that clean tone like that, especially a fuzz pedal. Spot on ‘85 Stevie, which was my favorite tone of his! Brilliant stuff, indeed. 🎸🤘🏻
I can't get nowhere close to maxxing out the volume on my SF. Unity with Fuzz and volume maxed is at like 10 o'clock. Sure if I roll the first volume back to like 5 I can bring the SF volume up but if I turn the first volume up it's going to be stupid loud and much louder then unity.
These should just come with any good Strat :) Love mine. Saved me spending a lot of time and money faffing with different pickups, to get a tone that really comes any decent Strat, and a pedal like this, into the right amp.
Hi Chris. Thanks for the great video. I'd like to ask you, how do you make the sound before you turn the pedal on (it's around 2:34~2:46)? It sounds so great. It would be great to hear about the settings of the pedals you have connected to your guitars, amps, and others. You may have been talking about it in the video, but I couldn't hear it well because I'm not an English speaker, although I did find that you were using a Fender Deluxe Reverb. I used translation software to create this text as well. I hope it's not too difficult for you to understand the sentence.
RIP CESAR!! - - I may have to check out some of these pedal pawns. Sound great, i really like my OX fuzz but these both sound amazing. - Have you ran these pedals with Carbon Zinc 9vs?
Mine also is a Jensen c12k.. maybe I have to change tubes I still have the stock groove tubes. But really yours sounds way better even if I had sound 40+ hours , mine still feels like "closed" sounding and has no real highs and lows but only midlows and midhighs . Don't really know how to explain 🤣
Thanks a lot! Really appreciate it. This particular unit was actually post death. I've played & owned over 6-7 pre / post & this one was my favourite 😃
Hello Chris; congratulation about your playing and for the Pawn's tone, but could I know why on your pedal board you have the Texas Square or the OxFuzz and not the pawn?? Thanks
Hi Guido, thanks ever so much! Those images would of pre-dated the creation of the Pedal Pawn Fuzz as that's what I use now exclusively! Many thanks. Chris
What NTE si transistors are you guys using? are they switchable like on Diaz's pedal? I saw a picture of the interior of a Pedal Pawn and they look plastic black like bc183s, which I LOVE too! TY!
Hiya, thanks a lot for the comment. We're using amazing sounding NTE123AP's from the old stash & are non switchable like some of the Diaz units. Thanks a lot! Really appreciate the support 😃
It is an old post, but I don´t think there is a BC183S, there are BC183 probably in different hfe groups A, B, C, and there are BC183L which is a different animal, often about hfe 400, and with another pinout.
CHRIS KING ROBINSON, Why does the Diaz Square Fuzz when turning down the guitar volume create that SRV tin pan alley GLASSY tone and when I have tried using a normal STOCK Fuzz face it doesn't give that SRV tin pan alley tone? any reasons why?
Lol, about halfway through the video I was thinking to myself, "Cool, but can it pull of the Tightrope tone?" To which you replied a minute later, "Yes, yes it can."
The cleaner drive tone is lovely. the overdriven sound on the pedal pawn pedal on listening is slightly more defined and refined ... great pedal.
Thanks a lot, really appreciate that feedback from a top pro! 😊

i agree i run this into the kingtone blues power killer tones.
Just got one of these and haven’t heard because I’ve been away on business. Can’t wait to get home to hear it.
Nice. Both really great usable overdrive sounds even maxed out!
Thanks so much for the support! ☺️
Finally picked one up! Actually sounds better than my square face. Nice work!
That’s amazing to hear, thanks so much for the support

I imagine this thing stacked with a texas ranger...
Maybe you could build another pedal based on the TR? I would be buying both ;)...
You're a mind reader, stay tuned over the next month or so ;)

Funny this comment, ay 🤣
Chris buddy, with the Fuzz and the Texas Twang, which order would you run them...Fuzz first, the the TT?
God dang it I didn’t need this but I need it now.

i know this is a quite old comment, but in this video, i think he set the amp volume way up and use an attenuator to keep the volume down
@@stratocaster8434 I noticed this reply too late. I tried it with the equipment I had and it worked. Thanks!

Great tone!! Do you have a treble bleed in your strat?
Orange wins
Awesome! What speaker do you use in the Deluxe Reverb ? Sounds great better than mine for sure 🤔
Thanks a lot, I'm using a stock Jenson speaker 😃

@Chris King Robinson please could I know which speaker U use in your DRR? Thanks
Thanks for the comment Guido, I use the stock Jenson speaker. Many thanks. Chris

Love your playing and demo, is that Cesar is pre or post his death?
Thanks a lot! Really appreciate it. This particular unit was actually post death. I've played & owned over 6-7 pre / post & this one was my favourite 😃

Thanks a lot! 😃
How do you get a drri to sound like that? Stock speaker?
Thanks a lot for the question! This is a stock DRRI without any speaker mods 😊

Thanks a lot for the comment! I used a THD hot plate so I could crank the volume 🎛🔥
3:43 woooooooow

I have to say the full out fuzz on the PP sounded a tad better than the Diaz Both cleans sounded excellent Good stuff and Best wishes for 2020 Guy's 😎
Paul Cowart Wow, thanks Paul! Really appreciate it. There’s a new release coming early 2020 which I’m really excited about 🤩
Fuck! Incredible playing pal!!

Hiya Bill, send us a message at Pedal Pawn as it’d be great to nerd out! Cheers. Chris

Both sound great. I think I like the pedal pawn a bit better
Hey guys congrats on the success of the new fuzz I've heard nothing but good things about it and hearing is believing as well Cheers 😂
Hiya Paul. Can't thank you enough, it's turned out better than we could of ever imagined! 😃
