Really like the progression in the verses, starting from one guitar, to two guitars harmonizing, to a jump in the octaves. Amazing arrangement by Jindo. The bass and the harpsichord section are also very cool.
Actual masterpiece.
one of the few games that actually ban you all your gear, armour and weapons and force you to beat a difficult boss with an intense drop of all stats... and for saving your waifu. true hability like old times.

I do miss Hidekazu Nishi's drums but otherwise I think this arrangement is a solid improvement over his 2012 one. Chorus manages to hit even harder somehow!

I like the modern Jindo-ness in this but man I never cared for the original composition much so I don't think this will stick with me much

Desert of Despair arrangement would've gone hard
#1 problem with this album is probably the song choice, imo. Everything came out pretty sick regardless, but Crossing Rage already had a great arrangement (though I like this one more), it'd have been nice to see another Ys IX track get a makeover, rather than just having another take on Cloaca (imagine getting Lacrima Crisis or Wild Card), and I could go on.
@@MaskedKingDavid I would have loved to hear Cave of Groan from IX, it's legit one of my favorite tracks from the game and only let down by Singa's very poor mixing and instrumentation. But of course Wild Card would have also been amazing.
But yeah in general the choice of tracks is quite questionable. I understand they're going for more notable tracks, but there has to be a balance between that and fresh stuff, rather than just rearranging the same tracks over and over, and by the same person no less.

(At this point I'm starting to be cool with the idea of just getting a second Ys IX Super Ultimate lol. There's still a ton of material that Jindo could probably do wonders with.)
