What's your favorite store to shop for clothes and accessories? Let's discuss. You can shop everything in this video right here! hueandstripe.com/catalog/306H&SZ46H?s=850621
I agree with you on Loft. I've been shopping there less and less lately, and you hit it perfectly with the comparison to Talbots. Explains exactly what I've been feeling but couldn't put to words.
Thanks! I like to shop Nordstrom and Dillards with some Anthropologie. Under Talbots are Ann Taylor, Chico's, Haven Well Within, Lane Bryant, LOFT, Soma, and White House Black Market some are newly acquired. Talbuts does have great denim.
LOFT used to be Ann Taylor Loft. When I worked in Finance, those of us in our thirties shopped at LOFT and the older ladies went to Ann Taylor. But yeah, Talbot's is like wimpy Ann Taylor.
Thank you for this! And especially about styling. I have a nothing print from J Jill that I want to see if I can style up. Please do a video about Target. I am moving to a small town with not many choices, so I'm trying out Target brand.
Great video! I liked how you showed the good things and the bad things. However, on your hue & stripe shopping list. I don’t think you should put the bad items because it could be confusing to someone who might not have seen the video and they may think that you think those are good items to buy. I did see a couple where you had typed “no” but it wasn’t on all your “bad items”. Keep all these helpful ideas coming, I really appreciate it because I don’t have all the time to do the research. Thank you!!!
(Melanie here) I love this video so much. So helpful. I love Lilysilk (tops, blouses sweaters) and Quince for cashmere sweaters. Pants I want to try on in the store and Chicos pants fit me well. Fitted t shirts from Eddie Bauer. Is anyone else like that? You find certain things from certain stores that you know will fit you.
Hi Nada, I’m a new subscriber from New Zealand. Have been following you for a couple of months and love your fashion advice - also love your hair! It’s looking amazing! Thanks for featuring Witchery and Cos, stores I get to shop at occasionally. Unfortunately we don’t have a Witchery in my home town of Dunedin anymore, but there’s at least one of each in Auckland that I try to visit anytime I’m up there, plus I have a visit to Sydney, Australia coming up in August and I’m excited to do some shopping while I’m there. Interesting video, thanks again!
Hi, I live in the US and my favorite store is Loft. I agreed with your picks and misses on Loft. I don't do prints. Recently, I bought a summery , ruffled sleeve, more flowy top at Loft and that will be the only one of that type of style I'll buy as I prefer the classic, more fitted tops that hit nearer to the waist (I am 5ft 2in). The color is lovely, a Tangerine color. I never liked Talbots and always found them frumpy and I am a mature woman, although one of the other TH-cam stylist shows a lot of Talbots stuff, it is so "plain Jane." It would be fun to see more of this type of video on hits/misses at stores.
You praised the trench coats of Anthropologie and then went to Talbots, which made me want to talk about my Talbots find. I wanted a new trench, but as a short, voluptuous woman, the traditional double-breasted style doesn’t suit me. Then Talbots sent me a gift from the gods. It was a single-breasted, petite sized trench and most importantly, it is a beautiful shade of blue. The fit and cut are flattering and it’s not a boring beige trench because of the color. I have received compliments from my 83 year old mother, a thirtysomething coworker, and my 21 year old niece. It’s rare a fast fashion company gets it this right.
All of these brands have plus styles. :) I'm talking about strengths and weaknesses of these stores in general and not specific items or sizes as much in this video, but I've done several on plus specific styles.
Great video! A question - for you and your followers: I know that we all have different size items in our closets - design, size variations in brands, etc. But - does anyone else have 2 sizes of the SAME item? My body fluctuates (Thanks, IBS) and I literally have a few items in BOTH size 0 and 2 because some days the 0 is a bit too snug around the middle and I’m not keen on elasticized waists. Just curious!
Hi Marlene! This is me! Same size, and same fluctuations due to IBS. So yes I do have a few items in both sizes that are exactly the same. You are not alone! Thanks so much for the comment!
Its such a waste of material and resources when clothing companies make loads of clothes that are not flattering on anyone. Its becoming more and more difficult to find decent clothing for the average woman who isn't walking on the runway or down the streets of Milan. Cheap materials, poorly made, poor fit, overpriced, horrid prints, obnoxious details like big puffy sleeves, half shirts, see through shirts...what a waste and such a big environmental impact when they last a short "10 seconds" as a trend. It takes quite a bit of time (and many are short on time) to find normal classy clothes that would be a good fit for many and so thank you for sharing.

Great video! I love this idea. Please do some follow up videos with some other stores. I’d also like to see Boden, J Crew, and Banana Republic.

My favorite store is J Jill because they carry petites in every style.

I love shopping at Good Things in White Bear Lake, MN. My style gives a nod to boho and I find fun pieces there.
i am 73 and just got 2 loft dresses ( in petite) so age and a store? all depends!!
love these videos

Favorite stores: Ralph Lauren, Brooks Brothers, Quince, Nordstrom, Bloomingdale’s, LilySilk, JCrew…. I could go on….😂
Saw SJP wearing those split pants . Yuck
