Listen before I go is literally a loud statement from Billie to the world, she is telling people how she feels she wants us to be honest about how we feel. Not everybody can understand such battles and even the battles that lead to such feelings, but the fact that she stood up to sing this song in front of millions of people and for billions of others to hear is literally such a strong informative statement. She is literally speaking for so many people which is freakin helping sooooo many more. Like it’s bigger than the lyrics, reading in between the lines of words is crucial at times.

@@putyouon thank you and your dad, I really enjoyed this reaction!!I I will wait for Happier than ever’s reaction .. a really GREAT album full of musical genres and Billie vocally is closer to the 20-50s, much softer, a complex and uniform work, a journey into Billie's mind, her reflections on life and death, inner growth and revenge for getting out of depression. Very beautiful and timeless work. Old and modern music together.
I appreciate so much the way Billie’s voice is being praised all throughout this video. She’s received so much hate and criticism for the quietness in her voice, with people using it to say she can’t sing. She was professionally trained in a prestigious LA Children’s Choir, she most definitely knows how to sing and does it BEAUTIFULLY. I love how you both appreciate the timbre of her voice and how difficult it really is to sing that quietly but with so much power, musicality, and pin-pointed pitch. Her ability to sing on pitch live is crazy and almost unbelievable sometimes. Other artists struggle singing live but for Billie it comes so naturally, hitting the most difficult notes with no waver in her voice. Loved this reaction so much
I'm 53! I wish Billie was around when I was younger. That's okay. She's helped me heal some very old trauma. SO much respect for both of them. Thanks for the reaction. I hope to see more reviews of her work.
y’all have easily made me fall in love with this album all over again, i haven’t listened in a while and man- the emotions, goosebumps, me straining my voice screaming the lyrics. i would do anything to listen to this album for the first time again
i was 13 years old when i was in hospital for an attempted sucide im now 14 the listen before i go song i related to so much and i’m so thankful billie shared it for people like me to relate to.
@Emma Yasmin We need you here with us. Please stay and please keep sharing. Teen years are rough. I was in rehab by age 20 so I know what it’s like. We love you and need you. You matter to us. Music helps…ALOT….and many don’t realize how powerful it is to people that struggle emotionally. Hugging you virtually….
I am a bonafide old person. I totally love Billie and Finneas for several years now. What totally amazed me was the fact they were chosen to do a song for a Bond movie. It’s a HUGE honor. They did not disappoint. The song was glorious! Winning an Oscar was the icing on the cake. The song is totally theirs. When first heard it, I thought for sure that some record producer in London really rewrote their song. That is not what happened. I heard the original tape that they sent to the London studio. The basic song is how they wrote it. What geniuses these two are! ❤❤️
It's a pretty spectacular debut album, especially from someone so young. Billie and Finneas are both just remarkably talented. I'm one of those older guys, who managed to pick up on this. I adore my 80s and 90s music, but music today is clearly alive and well, contrary to what some of my contemporaries seem to think. I'm just happy to be here to witness it.
Phineas used to joke saying he's going to make billie the biggest pop star in the world and that's exactly what he did. im a 26 year old man who grew up on heavy metal but can honestly say billie eilish is hands down one of my favourite artists of all time.
you and your dad should definitely watch her doc together! After hearing the album I'm sure he would find it cool to see the behind the scenes of how it was made, it's a great documentary Edit: Billie has mentioned that the last three tracks are supposed to be read as a sentence: "Listen before I go, I love you, goodbye" and your dad seemed to totally pick up on that. I think it adds to the vibe you were talking about with side B and wrapping up the album as a whole
I loved vibing to I Love You with y’all. You had your eyes closed for most of the track and then from 42:34 all the way through the rest of the song your dad joins you. It’s so beautiful to see music touch people ❤
I have been following Billie since the don't smile at me EP dropped, and I remember the first time I heard "idontwannabeyouanymore" off of that project, I texted my girlfriend at the time that I was shocked she hadn't blown up yet. Only a few years later she was the biggest pop star in the world and had improved soooo much over her previous work. This record was such a surprise to me when it came out and her sophomore album is even better in my opinion. Even though she is incredibly popular, I still think that Billie is highly underrated among the "music nerd" crowd but maybe that's just me.
I'm about to turn 48 and stumbled upon Billie's music just after this album was released. I became an instant fan and took great joy in being able to introduce my 23 year old "kid" to what they had assumed was "just another pop starlet". Few things bring me as much joy as different generations loving both old and new music together!
I love how the both of you genuinely listen to each song and in the same way. Like you both appreciate and feel the whole song and interpret it in such diverse ways with open minds. Thank you for your videos! I really hope you also give a listen to her other albums. And break them down just like how you did here. I wish you both the best out of life 🤗🤗
I am a huge billie fan. But i absolutely love that you stated what I felt as well. When this album came out Bad Guy got all the attention, but the rest of the album is absolutely spectacular and deserved so much more attention. Wonderful reaction ❤
i'm 54 and love Billie and Fin! Ilomio was actually was written about a little video game she liked to play! 2 little guys you had to get back together and stars would hurt them. Knowing that makes you hear the song different. And I think your Dad is right it really hits different with an older crowd. I love when you listen to the album it can be very relaxing. But watching her in concert she can turn it up and they are all bangers!
On “listen before I go”, I’ll correct what you said happens. Her mother hears some of the song and she asks Billie, “are you seriously implying that you would jump off the roof?” - and billie nods and says “yes.” - and Maggie (her mother) says something like, “are you sure you wanna get that dark on a song? Do you think that’s a smart thing to do?.” Billie then says, “this song is the reason that I DON’T do it. I think it’s better to have written a song about it then actually doing it.” Ps: when she says “no way out..but down” - that means jumping off the roof. Like the opening lyrics to the song, “take me to the rooftop, I want to see the world when I stop breathing, turning blue.”
Please listen to Happier Than Ever, people consider it her “flop album” but it’s so much better of an album and she grew so much as a singer and artist. And the title song is one of her best songs ever.
Great reaction! It's often only when I see such reactions that I realize how many great moments I missed when I first heard the album. It is often simply a more conscious listening I guess. You doing this well, keep it up guys!
This is my favorite album of all time and likely will always be- thank you both from the bottom of my heart for giving this art the love and recognition it deserves. I think this shows that people can be capable of so much more at this young an age than they’re given credit for, and the fact that music this undefined can transcend the bounds of time like this is so crazy to me still. Thank you both again for this experience ❤️
I discovered Billie in a time when I was so lonely. She's only a year older than me so hearing someone my age voice my deepest feelings was so validating! I don't even know what I'd have done if I didn't have her music to keep me company when I was at my lowest.
When it comes to listen before i go, Billie has a lot to say about it. When she was confronted by her mom about the message and was asked "if she was willing to go that dark" she stated this is the reason she doesn't jump. Having this way of saying it is betting than doing it. Your dad also noted the fact that people wouldn't expect a person this young to experience these feelings. That was a huge deal for Billie. I believe that it was in an interview somewhere that she says she hates when people say "Why are you depressed? You're so young!" like she's supposed to be happy. She's still human and experiences these feelings like everyone else whether she's 18 or 58. This may not be true but I remember seeing a statistic somewhere that more and more young people (like teenagers) are suffering from depression as time passes on so I don't understand why this isn't being talked about more. btw, totally tattoing 'listen before i go, i love you. goodbye' onto my forearm because those last three songs are just too good. People who wouldn't know about that would be confused but people who knew the tracklist would understand XD
I'm listening on the 5-year anniversary of this album. It's so awesome to see someone discover fall in love with this album I'm 64 and a HUGE Billie & Finneas
How I always looked at the last three songs is her going through something and goes through with it then “I love you” is like the last thing she thought about was him and then “goodbye” is her relationship flashing before her eyes
Really liked this reaction. Billie is one of my favorite artists. I would also like to suggest that you guys listen to AURORA. She is actually one of the artists that inspired Billie the most to begin her music career.
fun fact- 8 was originally called see through, and then changed to ‘7’ on the album and was number 7 on the album (before !!!!!!!) was added- 7 was the nickname of her ex! but when it got moved to track 8 they changed the name from 7 to 8. loved the vid!
This album was the only thing that could put me to sleep for awhile. That might sound like an insult, but for someone with insomnia it’s quite the opposite. Something about this album (with its ironic name and everything) genuinely helped me sleep when I first bought it on iTunes.
I’m sorry, but Sweden is behind veryyyy many songs that has charted over the last 20-25 years. Great reaction, I really need to show my dad this album!
52 yo mother of three and I’m a massive fan of these two artists. Looking forward to your reaction to Hit Me Hard and Soft. You hear it now I do. Ethereal and magical.
I admire a father and son reviewing Billie and Finneas's music - it's a wonderful thing!. Billie sprained her ankle in Milan, Italy [Feb. 21, 2019] at the very beginning of the concert but then cont'd on a chair. The GENIUS LYRICs explanations are generally very helpful. "When the Partys Over" was one written by FINNEAS alone [along with "Ocean Eyes" & "My Strange Addiction"] - this song wasn't about Billie's boyfriend, but it perhaps could have been. ["Lost Cause" & "Happier Than Ever" from her July 30, 2021 Album "Happier Than Ever" are about - in part - the feelings surrounding her relationship with her boyfriend.] I believe "8" is - I think - about its placement on the Tracklist - before the slurping Invisalign Intro, it was 7 (I believe) and I think that's in the documentary "The World's A Little Blurry" [directed by R.J. Cutler, Feb. 26 , 2021 - a little long, but otherwise excellent]. Billie & Finneas were singing "I Love You" in New York at the Greek Theatre one year to the day after her friend XXXTentacion's death (June 18, 2019), and Billie breaks down in the live show - it's a tear-jerking moment. Billie will be 21 on Dec. 18, 2022. The last track with lines in reverse order of the tracklist must be close to Genius in its imagination. Thank you - take care. P.S. I've noticed Billie has something like a lisp in a couple places in her music. [ The documentary is 2Hrs & 20 minutes and I think could have been at least 20 minutes shorter - but it is still excellent and it is hard to know what one would cut out.]
I gave the wrong date for Billie's ankle injury in Milan - it was August 31, 2019 at the very beginning of the concert - she was opening with "Bad Guy" and went down within a minute - it's painful to watch. "Bad Guy" came out on March 29, 2019, so I'm not sure where I got the Feb 21st date from.
Seven is also the nick name of her abusive ex, so she didnt want to leave it as 7 because then it would be too obvious that its about him. she also never said 8 in wish you were gay so thats why there's 8
@@jaelynp Billie does sing "I ATE at 7" and I believe that is a very clever pun for the number 8. In the Genius Lyrics for 8, in Billie's comments there is no reference to "Wish You Were Gay". I have read that 8 follows the format of "See-through", but I haven't seen that she ever sang that song live. I wonder if she wrote the words before or after meeting 7:AMP or Q [Brandon Quention Adams]; from what I understand they met towards the end of 2018, but I think after or during Coachella, the end of the relationship was at hand. I figured it was just a change in the Track list after the Slurps and !!!! were added - if it was a way to make up for the number 8's absence in WYWG, that would be clever too. I hadn't been to a concert in over 40 yrs and saw Billie in St. Paul on March 15, 2022 - she was and is awesome!
Please do her EP and her new guitar songs- TV and The 30th. Commented earlier...I'm close to 50 and my husband and I will see her again next month. Goldwing is amazing live because she is so incredibly interactive. Sounds the same if not better live because she connects to thousands of people in an unfathomable way. Finneas plays so many instruments, she and he play guitar together for I Love You, Your Power....she starts the show by being ejected up from center stage into Bury a Friend. It's her, Finneas and their drummer, lights and a screen. Try to see her live. It's an experience! Her cover of MJs Bad at 15 is amazing. So is End of the World cover...she also won an Oscar for her Bond song.
I’d love for you guys to react to some of her singles that aren’t attached to any albums. we’ve got Come Out and Play, bitches broken hearts, lovely, bored, six feet under, and more. Also, her EP is amazing and gives such a good look into her talent at such a young age, as young as 13 years old
This was a great watch. Thanks. IMHO, Happier Than Ever is an even better album, so hopefully we get that soon lol. You should do 'The 30th' and 'TV' live acoustic clips they just put out. Would be a nice contrast with the iconic WWAFAWDWG. But do whatever you want of course!

I'm 53! I wish Billie was around when I was younger. That's okay. She's helped me heal some very old trauma. SO much respect for both of them. Thanks for the reaction. I hope to see more reviews of her work.
@@KristinKanan then you got a great taste! and yes Billie’s music is sometimes healing and theraupetic
Listen before I go will never fail to make me tear up. She has such a pure soul, but has been through hell.
y’all have easily made me fall in love with this album all over again, i haven’t listened in a while and man- the emotions, goosebumps, me straining my voice screaming the lyrics. i would do anything to listen to this album for the first time again
i was 13 years old when i was in hospital for an attempted sucide im now 14 the listen before i go song i related to so much and i’m so thankful billie shared it for people like me to relate to.
So glad you were able to get through that time 🧡
@Emma Yasmin We need you here with us. Please stay and please keep sharing. Teen years are rough. I was in rehab by age 20 so I know what it’s like. We love you and need you. You matter to us. Music helps…ALOT….and many don’t realize how powerful it is to people that struggle emotionally. Hugging
you virtually….

Now you have to react to "Happier than ever" album. She's a genius. I love her.
Don’t forget her brother Is a HUGE part of Billie’s success.
To think: she pretty much created this album when she was fifteen or something…
INSANE
Phineas used to joke saying he's going to make billie the biggest pop star in the world and that's exactly what he did. im a 26 year old man who grew up on heavy metal but can honestly say billie eilish is hands down one of my favourite artists of all time.
you and your dad should definitely watch her doc together! After hearing the album I'm sure he would find it cool to see the behind the scenes of how it was made, it's a great documentary
Edit: Billie has mentioned that the last three tracks are supposed to be read as a sentence: "Listen before I go, I love you, goodbye" and your dad seemed to totally pick up on that. I think it adds to the vibe you were talking about with side B and wrapping up the album as a whole
I loved vibing to I Love You with y’all. You had your eyes closed for most of the track and then from 42:34 all the way through the rest of the song your dad joins you. It’s so beautiful to see music touch people ❤
Thank you for watching 🧡🧡🧡
I have been following Billie since the don't smile at me EP dropped, and I remember the first time I heard "idontwannabeyouanymore" off of that project, I texted my girlfriend at the time that I was shocked she hadn't blown up yet. Only a few years later she was the biggest pop star in the world and had improved soooo much over her previous work. This record was such a surprise to me when it came out and her sophomore album is even better in my opinion. Even though she is incredibly popular, I still think that Billie is highly underrated among the "music nerd" crowd but maybe that's just me.
Older guy here totally a huge fan of Billie & Finneas
Unbelievable talent lyrically, sonically & artistically !!!
I wish you both the best out of life 🤗🤗
Thank you for watching, can’t wait for the next album 🧡
Thank you Maria….check us out tomorrow with the live debut of…..😂
@@mightymike8130 🤔🤔 i see what you did there
Hi, Dad! She is a phenomenal performer. Had the pleasure to see her live and sounds even better live!
Hi Lisa! I bet
Ive listened to billie since 2016, and she has never lost her touch, she is an amazing artist
31 and I love Billie Eilish! Her brother Finneas also. But Billie is a star for sure
I am a huge billie fan. But i absolutely love that you stated what I felt as well. When this album came out Bad Guy got all the attention, but the rest of the album is absolutely spectacular and deserved so much more attention. Wonderful reaction ❤
Amazing album. I remember when Billie was on the rise I wasn’t the biggest fan but with her two albums she really proved herself as a great artist.
i'm 54 and love Billie and Fin!
I’m a big Billie Eilish fan people all around the world love her so much she has so much albums, they’re so amazing x
Wow what an amazing album! Glad I got to listen to it with you! I'll have to show my dad this one.
Thanks for listening with us ✌🏻
Such a huge Billie fan, the best artist of this millenium. And I was born in the 50s, she's among the best.
Listening to billie with dad is goals!!! Wish I had a dad like that.
her albums are so well put together her brother really deserves it all
I’m really glad I got to experience the album again with you guys. Thank you
Thanks for watching 👍🏼
On “listen before I go”, I’ll correct what you said happens. Her mother hears some of the song and she asks Billie, “are you seriously implying that you would jump off the roof?” - and billie nods and says “yes.” - and Maggie (her mother) says something like, “are you sure you wanna get that dark on a song? Do you think that’s a smart thing to do?.” Billie then says, “this song is the reason that I DON’T do it. I think it’s better to have written a song about it then actually doing it.”
Ps: when she says “no way out..but down” - that means jumping off the roof. Like the opening lyrics to the song, “take me to the rooftop, I want to see the world when I stop breathing, turning blue.”
omg THE SCILENCE AFTER LISTEN BEFORE I GO LOLLLL , that literally is me everytime i listen to it omg
I'm 39 and I love it, and I made my parents love it also, which are in mid 60's of course.
One of the best pop albums of the last decade
Please listen to Happier Than Ever, people consider it her “flop album” but it’s so much better of an album and she grew so much as a singer and artist. And the title song is one of her best songs ever.
I love your dads comment on the silence in between lyrics and music. I feel like I’m in the bedroom recording with them
I am in your “generation” and LOVE Billie. Her and Finneas are the dynamic duo.
Great reaction! It's often only when I see such reactions that I realize how many great moments I missed when I first heard the album. It is often simply a more conscious listening I guess. You doing this well, keep it up guys!
Appreciate you!
50 year old dad here. I Love Billie and Finneas!
incredible reaction and insight from both of you... i think you guys would really enjoy her brother finneas' writing and solo music too!!
Thank you so much for watching! Can’t wait to listen to Happier Than Ever
Loved your reaction to when the party’s over, and imo her best album is her newest, happier than ever
Great pick!
i cant wait to see you reacting to getting older, nda and happier than ever
I discovered Billie in a time when I was so lonely. She's only a year older than me so hearing someone my age voice my deepest feelings was so validating! I don't even know what I'd have done if I didn't have her music to keep me company when I was at my lowest.
Great video. This album is a masterpiece. You need to show him her videos now. They are just as amazing.
she's so talent
It's so awesome to see someone discover fall in love with this album I'm 64 and a HUGE Billie & Finneas
listen before I go, I cry every damn time...
How I always looked at the last three songs is her going through something and goes through with it then “I love you” is like the last thing she thought about was him and then “goodbye” is her relationship flashing before her eyes
ive noticed she pronounces "sh" sounds as "ss" and vice versa. I love you Billie! im happy you exist.
Love to hear "Happier than ever" album. Just as great as his one. She is the reason I am listening to today's music.
Really liked this reaction. Billie is one of my favorite artists. I would also like to suggest that you guys listen to AURORA. She is actually one of the artists that inspired Billie the most to begin her music career.
I was going to write the same thing 😅👍😍
@@lillm6874 Awesome!😄
You guys are amazing. This is an absolutely beautiful reaction 🖤
Thank you so much 🧡
THIS IS SO WHOLESOME!!! Love y’all and Billie ❤
I'm loving the ilomilo love in this vid. It's my second fav from the album
fun fact- 8 was originally called see through, and then changed to ‘7’ on the album and was number 7 on the album (before !!!!!!!) was added- 7 was the nickname of her ex! but when it got moved to track 8 they changed the name from 7 to 8. loved the vid!
god i wish people were good as ur dad when listening to billie's songs. DO HAPPIER THAN EVER ALBUM. PLEASE
Can't wait for happiet than ever
This album was the only thing that could put me to sleep for awhile. That might sound like an insult, but for someone with insomnia it’s quite the opposite. Something about this album (with its ironic name and everything) genuinely helped me sleep when I first bought it on iTunes.
I’m sorry, but Sweden is behind veryyyy many songs that has charted over the last 20-25 years.
Great reaction, I really need to show my dad this album!
amazing reaction-video - i love the chemistry and shared passion you two have for music!
Thanks!
HAPPIER THAN EVER NEXT IM BEGGING OMG
Also, her EP is amazing and gives such a good look into her talent at such a young age, as young as 13 years old
for goodbye, she made 1 sentences from the last song to the first, back to front
I have absolutely loved this reaction. I would love to see him react to some live performances ❤
I am a 60 year old into the Beatles, Pink Floyd and Zep, so not much new music as a rule, but I think this album is right up there with Sgt. Pepper
I think Phineas is the true reason her music is so amazing… It’s how they were produced.
great video and such a good bond with your dad!
Speaking of Horror, Bad Guy was the first song played in the Chucky series on tv
Love your dad sooo much
you guys are amazing. I need to see you guys listen to billie's 2nd studio album as well as her singles!
You have such a cool Dad!!!
Happier than everrrr
This was a great watch. Thanks. IMHO, Happier Than Ever is an even better album, so hopefully we get that soon lol. You should do 'The 30th' and 'TV' live acoustic clips they just put out. Would be a nice contrast with the iconic WWAFAWDWG. But do whatever you want of course!
Omg!! Please do her Happier Than Ever album!!! I love that y’all do this together, it’s so sweet. ❤
❤️❤️❤️
billie is amazing
Billie once said she was in awe and inspired by AURORA (a Norwegian musician), hope you can check her out.
Enjoyed your reactions! I'm older than your age unknown😊Dad and I've loved Billie since I first heard her voice and the songwriting and production she and Finneas do. Please react to her even more mature and personal 2nd album together! I wIsh My Dad had spent time with me with music I loved tho he did like lots of music too. Thanks again for sharing. Regards....
Much love ❤️ thank you for watching
I'm not sure what generation Dad belongs to, but I'm 65 and have been listening to this album and Billie incessantly since fall of 2019 when I saw her on SNL. This just popped up in my youtube suggestions and I really enjoyed experiencing this album with you two. Subscribed!
